This looks amazing to me, I'm going to pre-order it by the way. What are your thoughts? Discuss. Speaking of Pre, did any of you guys hear the Palm Pre is coming to Verizon!?! SWEET! Shazam.
No, I'm not gonna get a portable game console that's been around since 2004 without any major hardware upgrades. And Palm Pre for Verizon? Forget it. Every time I'd look at the phone, memories of the Lady of the Corn commercials would come flooding back to me. To hell with that.
Extremely unlikely, I'll hold off at least until the PSP App Store clone is established and has some games worth checking out. If it's like most Sony launches, I might own a PSP Go sometime late next year.
I will. Only for Gran turismo Mobile and Little Big Planet, and to compare games on iPhone and PSPGo =D
I want one, but I doubt I will get one. I have the PSP-2000 and I am fine with it. The minor upgrades they did for the PSP-3000 was totally not worth it for me to have to shell out $200 more of my money to get it. I also have quite a few UMD's and the new PSP doesn't play them. If there was a way to get a code or something for the UMD's I purchased so I can put them on my new PSP, I would be all over it. The look of it looks great, and I love where they put the analog stick (Though... I'd still rather have 2....). I just can't justify getting a new one for $250 (With no other hardware upgrades) when I can just keep my PSP and it's 8 gig mem stick and buy both UMDs and DLC*shrugs* This is where I am at too. Kind of wish they would have abandoned the PSP project (Like it has been for the past 2 years nearly) and focused on a PSP2. Slight hardware updates and 2 freaking analog sticks would make it ultimate. But I am sure the PSP2 will have touch screen and all that and I don't really care... lol not everything needs to have a touch interface...
I've got a 3000. It does pretty much everything the Go does, plus plays UMDs. Why does that matter? I've got game UMDs already. Sony's offered no "solution" to this. I can also buy older used UMDs on the cheap nowadays. And the older PSPs can download games anyway via PSN. So it's not a big deal. No...my next portable purchase might be a DSi if and when Nintendo gets their heads out of their asses and announces a DSi VC (virtual console) with ability to purchase classic NES, SNES, Game Boy, GBC, and GBA games. Be even better if there's classic Sega Master System, Genesis/MegaDrive, and PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16 games on there. Oh, and Neo Geo Pocket Color would be great too. PSN is getting PC Engine games, btw. That should be nice. Give me something more to play on my PSP.
Next mobile purchase will be whatever new gen iTouch Apple rolls out (hopefully 3Gs internal hardware). Oh...and (*ducks for cover) probably a ZuneHD.
It intrigues me, I am not going to lie. It'll be interesting to see how far they take the platform and the competition between iDevices and the ZuneHD. I will say though, that if they are betting that HD radio is going to be the seller of the device, they are sorely mistaken.
No way. I'll stick with my PSP 1000. Every PSP since the initial release has been a HUGE downgrade from the previous. PSP 1000 (initial release)- Awesome system PSP 2000 (slim and lite)- No IR, removed metal chassis supporting the frame (making it really fragile. The whole thing is basically plastic now.), worse packed in battery (though the model is better on batteries, Sony just gives you a worse battery with it, so battery life is the same. If you use a 1000 battery, it lasts longer, but it is huge, and sticks out). Sony has confirmed that the battery that comes with the PSP 2000 has 1/3 of the life of the 1000's. PSP 3000 - Worse screen, no modding, exterior looks terrible compared to older models PSP 4000 PSP GO - No UMD drive, awkward shape, smaller screen PSP 5000 Imaginary next model - No screen, can not play games
Yagami you know what the most amazing part about the PSP to me is that they've been through so many revisions and are still using a screen that ghosts as bad as a first generation LCD from the late 90's. On a platform that's supposed to be all about action games!!!
I'm interested in it. but one major advantage of buying a system late in the life cycle, is going to the used game store and getting the old classics cheap. I worry that PSPgo owners will be forced into downloading games at full retail prices. but hopefully a solution will come forward soon to convert the old UMDs, or maybe they'll offer the digital copies at a discounted rate.
The thing is, if they were to discount the games on the PSN store, they would have to do it for everyone, alienating the people who already bought the freaking games. I am not sure of a really good way of being able to give the people who have UMD's a code to get the game for free or discounted. I can bet that they even wont, because yeah the PSP go is a new system, but they still are selling it along side the PSP-3000. They are keeping both on the shelves. Knowing that, there is a good chance that they won't offer any kind of UMD solution. They will just say "Buy a PSP Go and redownload the games (Probably at full price nearly) or buy a PSP-3000 so you can play your stupid UMD's".
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! That lady creeps me out a TON! Ugngh..... Weird commercial choice. On the PsP Go, it depends if they'll let me transfer all of my UMDs onto the drive. We'll see!
Creepy commercial, but hey. Look how many people are talking about it. lol it did it's job. Like I said, doubt they'll let you transfer them onto the drive. I don't really know of any way that's possible.
