Yikes, your the genius with the typo. I prefer my Xbox over my fat PS3. I think its just the online, gears of war 2 and Madden 10 on Xbox Live is tons of fun when your playing with some buddies. I only seem to use my PS3 to play through exclusives/watch movies. My Xbox360 has yet to RROD since I bought it nearly 2years ago. Xbox has a good line up and gets add-ons sooner (Fallout3). Usage: Xbox 80/20 PS3
I don't really care and here is why: I chose to get back to PC gaming because both consoles are not nearly possible to provide as many products for hardcore gamers as the PC does. I am completely unsatisfied with what both consoles offer and therefor i switched back... I still keep my x360 for the casual sit in with friends, but that's all. Most of the times we grab an old SNES or NES anyway... If i really had no other choice and i had to choose between PS3 and x360, i'd definitely would go with the 360. Generally it's pretty much like this:
I like the Wii, I just use it to play Mario Kart, Wii Sports Resort, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and the Bit. Trip series. (I use it to play multiplayer games, all exclusive) I only hate the Xbox this console generation.
man im tired of people saying xbox sucks because the "rrod"...i got my xbox at launch and i never got the "rrod"...everyone that gets it twice is pretty dumb...its simple not to get "rrod" dont put it on the rug, and make sure it can breath back there....its that simple
they're both good. each system has some good exclusives, and most stuff comes out on both systems anyway. Now that I've just beat Shadow Complex, I again find myself playing the PS3 more often. I've been playing a lot of Fat Princess and Resistance 2 online. they seem to work every bit as good as the xbox online games, maybe even better from my own personal experiences. here's some pros and cons off the top of my head. Ps3 pros - built in wifi - blueray - user upgradable HD - free online play ps3 cons - download + install times - non removable batteries in the controller - a little buggy at times (possibly from user error) (not huge issues for me) 360 pros - netflix (xbox live gold and netflix subscription required) - nice user interface. dashboard, store, etc - controller feels nice in your hand. especially for shooters - removable batteries for controllers 360 cons - expensive MS hard drives (may not be an issue, but it is for me) - wifi dongle sold separately ($100, $80 on buy.com) - d-pad becomes unresponsive after time - paying for xbox live membership (currently $42 on buy.com) my biggest gripe on the list would have to be the xbox d-pad. there's nothing more frustrating than losing a game because you're struggling with unresponsive controls. also, I hardly play my xbox online these days, yet I had to renew my xbox live subscription to stream netflix movies which I already pay monthly for. the xbox has never had any RROD problems or anything like that. it's the Halo edition which supposedly has the Falcon chip. The Playstation has been a little buggy at times requiring a reboot, but I haven't had any problems with it lately now that I've been using the system for a while. oh and my wii serves as nothing more than a dust collector
ive had mine since 2006, but now its having some problems ive seen tons of people RROD more than twice, using fans, intercoolers, and also setting it horizontal and off the ground
I'm actually a fan of that because i don't have to charge the batteries i can just plug in the controller
I don't like it because I can't just pop in some charged batteries when they die. I have to plug in the controller and end my play session as my PS3 is across the room, and I don't want to sit 3 feet away from a 56" screen. there are workarounds, like extremely long cables draped across your living room. or a wall charger type thing that I can plug in near my couch. but it's an inconvenience I wish I didn't have to worry about. and with two crazy dogs in the house it's really not an option. also, you can't charge the controller on standby mode. the machine must be powered on. The xbox's play & charge battery doesn't work quite as well as I would like either, but at least I can use rechargeable AA's at any time.
The only thing they really charge you for is the gold membership which i compare to buying one game every year as its reasoning which isn't that bad seeing as a year is quite a long time. The only reason that sony doesn't charge for online is because they don't maintain and host the severs for killzone cod4 etc.. They make the companies do that which in some cases can cause a more laggy experience. Plus you get alot for that gold membership being to talk to friends, msn, twitter, myspace and a great online multiplayer. Another bad thing about the ps3 controller is the battery will eventually die and you'll have to buy a new controller There both great and the ps3 is a more justified buy at 2.99$£euros but i still prefer my 360
I think that's a pretty bad chart If you don't like video games get a console? Sounds iffy to me =P PS: I voted PS3 slim =P
Ughhhhhh PS3 Slim for $250 on Dell.com with some wacky coupon code... Someone help me press the BUY NOW button.
I absolutely recommend it. I think this current generation of consoles is going to last a while, so you might as well snag one and start catching up on the good games you've been missing. (possibly the best part of buying a console that's been out for a while. lots of good, cheap games) for me it's always been about software. Bioshock was the game that absolutely made me buy an xbox. Little Big Planet, and Resistance 2 were the games that made me lust for the PS3 and finally buy one. and I'm absolutely happy with both purchases. I'm such a cheapskate I sort of "justified" the PS3 purchase because I got a screaming deal on it using the sonycard, and I'm sure glad I did. I also redeem my points on the card to download games for free. nice little perk. but now with the cheaper price, bigger HD, bluray, sweet games... I don't see any reason not to recommend it.
Everyone says the 360 is better because of more games but most of them are either multi-platform or ports of PC games. If you took all those away, the 360 would likely have about the same number of games as the PS3, maybe even less. Thinking of an old adage, I'd take quality over quantity any day.
The problem is, XBOX Live turns all those games in to really fun multiplayer experiences. Live has pretty much made me not power up my gaming PC for at least a year, and so few of my friends have a PS3 that whatever the Live equivalent is called would be a ghost town for me.
dont worry dude. get any FPS game, especially call of duty 4, WaW, or MW2. dont worry about a mic. ANY bluetooth headset will work. level up, join a clan, and have fun i know how you feel, i felt reluctant to buy a ps3 because most of my friends were on 360 killing noobs in halo, but ever since i bought it, i wonder why i got a 360 first...... its amazing, even if there is a slight lack in community, but thats just because alot of people dont realize you can use any bluetooth headset for a mic, so spread the word!
This is it. All about the online with 360. As the chart stated, if you dont have friends, get a ps3. Plus, I hate the controller. Absolutely hate it. So bad for FPS's and it is a terrible shape for where your hands naturally go. The 360 controller is so much easier to hold and the whole user interface of the 360 is so much better. Why sony, why have you not changed the positions of the joysticks ?!?!?! (for the record i own both)
