Hey guys, I got a ton of cash over the weekend, and I.m going to gamestop tomorrow. Should I buy a ps2 or a psp. I can't decide! Please help me out here.
But why would you buy a PS2 if you can have a PS3? And on top of that why on earth would you consider getting a PSP now?
Guys, I just want to know which is a better platform/ purchase the psp or the ps3. I am aware of the ngp, and I do not want a ps3

Even if you don't want a NGP, you should wait till it's out, the price of old PSPs will inevitably drop even lower then. So if you just want one right now, I'd say go for the PS2, but be aware if you're buying secondhand that older units seem to have problems reading discs sometimes.
With the Ps2 you'll have a much MUCH larger library to play with, I still love my ps2 more than my ps3. It's not even close. With the PSP you'll have a smaller library, but it'll be portable. If portability is not a big deal to you, then the PS2 is the obvious choice IMO. Also the PSP has some excellent emulators, if you're going that route.
I'd say don't bother with the PSP, it'd probably be going out of production soon with the release of the NGP. Both the newer PSPs don't use UMDs so if you decide to get a newer PSP later they'd be worthless. I'd only recommend it if you are getting the Go.
Seeing as you don't have a PS2, you need one. They don't make games for it anymore (well, good games at least), but the existing library is so huge that it really doesn't even matter. Games like Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy X, and plenty more should keep you busy for a long time.
Go for it, and get swap magic while you're at it! Ps2 + swap magic = awesome. It will allow you to play import games.
You racist. I'd agree with the guy earlier, save your money because I know a lot of great games coming up this year.
