Did you restart after install? I have that device and have tested it on that combination. Where did it crash on you?
I am having problems with the game as well on a 3.0 3G phone. I restarted my device after the install, and it ran the first time, but I couldnt start a new game or anything so i quit it, and now it wont finish loading at all. I see a startup screen, and then the screen goes black for for about 40 seconds before it quits. I have seen a similar problem before, and it was a bug that was fixed in an update.
PureSkill, Thanks for the feedback. If I understand you, it ran fine the first time you played, you died 5 times, ended up at the game over screen, and then hitting new game caused it to crash on you? Is that correct? Also, can you please confirm that you are running OS 3.0.1?
I never got to play the game. The first time I tried to load the the game, it loaded, and that was the only time it completely loaded. When I tried to start a new game that first time when it loaded, It wouldnt let me. It would do nothing when I clicked on start a new game or any of the other buttons. I then exited the game and now It wont load. I get a startup screen, and then a black screen before it quits, and I am running 3.0, not 3.0.1.
Pure Skill, Thanks for responding. I just tried it on the same device and OS configuration and it played without issue. Of course, Apple shipped many different builds of 3.0 so without knowing the exact build code, it is hard to say for certain I am testing exactly what you have. Did you try restarting your phone after installation? It's possible that other other software had left your phone is low memory state and the OS had yet to reclaim the memory. Also, can you please let me know if your phone is jailbroken? The reason I ask is that, jailbroken phones tend to have a lot of background processes running that consume memory. The OS is designed to start terminating new processes when a memory threshold is hit. If it turns out that restarting the phone doesn't fix the problem, then I recommend that you wait for the update that should be out on iTunes tomorrow or Saturday. This version is built from a new version of the underlying game engine and both reduces the memory footprint of the game and dramatically improves performance on the 3G in particular. I will PM you a code for that update. Thank you.
iPhone 3G with OS3.0.1 here as well. Same problem as Pure Skill but game didn't run for me - installed it, crashed, restarted device, crashed
