BTW for what it's worth, the dev had given himself a 5/5 rating on iTunes and after PMing him about it, he removed it.

As far as the app... eh I guess you have to be a Trekkie. I was explaining it to a friend and I told them "well you press a button and it goes eeeee-eeee-eeee-eeee" and the friend goes "well that's a [insertnerdywordhereI'llneverremember]" and then I went "and you press this other button and it goes brr-brr-brr-brr" and my friend goes "well that's a [insertevennerdierwordhere]" and then I go "well then you press a button and it goes too-too-too-too-too" and my friend goes "I have no idea what that is."

I'm a nerd, but I guess not that kind of nerd :p

BTW I had to Wikipedia "phaser" :(

I guess it'll come in handy. There's was a story in F My Life . com (adult word content) of a girl that got dumped because she didn't know the different between Star Wars and Star Trek. Not only can I tell you anything to do with Star Wars, I can also tell you what a phaser is and the difference in looks between Capt. Kirk and Mr. Spock. Boo-yah :p

    Three Phasers in your Pocket

Here's my 4 star iTunes review:
    -----------
Three different Phasers in one! What a bargain! :)
But seriously folks, this entertainment app is like Light Saber Unleashed. A sound app with one (or more) weapons of your favourite Sci-Fi movies.
The sounds are generic (no copy and therefore no intelectual property stolen) and the grafix are well done.
    Some little drawbacks:
The buttons are too close to each others. I would prefer the settings buttons to be farther apart from the fire button.
The snapping seems to be too hard. I'm a little afraid that my iPod will fly off of my hand when I try to use the motion firing.
    -----------
BTW: wrong section. Its not a game. Its an entertainment app.
    I'm waiting for the update!

    My review

Fun App, and serves the purpose as virtual sound maker. The In "Game" look is clean and well put together. I would suggest altering the trajectory of the beam as it does not seem to match the phaser itself. Setting are found outside the app under the iphone settings. I think it would be more handy to have the option in the app itself. There are 3 diff laser sounds to try out. They all work better as a longer burst. The sound quality of quick pulses is not what i would expect. That is one area to improve a bit is the single shot.

It would be nice if this app could interact between two iphones. Not sure if the technology is there for that but could be laser tagish if you wanted to move this beyond just sound.

Overall good fun, though I dont see playing with it more then a day.

Graphics 3/5 (steady not detracting other then the angle of the beam)
Sound 4/5 (as a sound app it does the job. Wish single shots sounded better)
Presentation 4/5 (Clean.. wish setting were in the app itself)

    Overall 3/5

Shouldn't this be in the app section?
