Has anyone given this app a try? If so, can you import from OmniPlan, MS Project, or in any format, really.

App info is currently processing and/or the app is not yet fully available for sale on the US App Store.

Okay, if anyone has any comments at all, on any Gantt Chart app on the app store, please share them. I'm about to buy one and am looking for recommendations.

This one looks good, for instance, and they had some useful videos on their site:

App info is currently processing and/or the app is not yet fully available for sale on the US App Store.

By the way, from emailing the developer of Projects that it does not currently support importing the aforementioned desktop programs, but it seemed like they have some nice plans for future development.

Where are the good project management tools?

I manage projects, so naturally I would like to have an iDevice app that would allow me some functionality in that area. The app store has spoiled all of us, in the fact that you can think up any need, do a search and find a handful of good apps at a insanely cheap price to fill that need.

Then comes project management tools. I have examined them all. The whole lot are extremely limited, missing key functions, are poorly laid out, and not flexible enough to handle a wide spectrum of project types. Plus, there has to be some capability to interact with industry standard project management software packages, even if that is a one way conduit - importing.

I am at the point of considering writing such an app. It needs to be developed by someone that understands project management. My only concern is that this is a niche market and I would not get a return on my investment.

    Wow, you called it.

I bought Projects. Really nice presentation, relatively intuitive, multiple projects available, Gantt chart looks good, displays in portrait or landscape, and...wait for it...

You cannot assign resources to a task! Believe it or not, there is no function to assign an employee to a task. Are you kidding me?!?

There went my 7 bucks. Talk about a brutal TOFTT.

I'm sorry to hear that. That was what I gleaned from looking through the various product materials. No assignment functionality at all? Exactly what are they giving you then in the way of a project management tool? It sounds more like a specialized calendar app.

    I appreciate you TOFTT.

If you ever wanted to do a one-man project, I guess it would work alright, but like most people, my team has more than one member. :)
