This game is inspired by Castle of Illusion: Starring Mickey mouse and I want to create the same ambience, and feel that Castle had for the Genesis. Any suggestions as to what people love to see in platformers would be great as I'm just starting to integrate, and build the levels.
Cool! Extra life, invincibility, and I already have her as default casting a spell, but maybe I'll add another ability besides that
so is this going to be a new game from Wicked Woods? How many levels are you planning to have compared to the Wicked Woods game?
I'm making a LOT MORE levels for this one, and making a port to the iphone as well I'll try and include 5 worlds with 5 sublevels for each world plus at least 2 big bosses, and I'll keep adding from there But the gameplay elements are much smoother, much better, and will have so much more variety I'll be adding powerups, powerdowns (like where she's cursed and morphs into a bunny or frog for a moment), and way better level design with much more variety. Any feedback or suggestions would be great! This is a game that is inspired by Castle of Illusion, one of my most favorite platformers ever
I'm confused when you mentioned above this is a port. This game is not being developed from the ground up for running on the idevices? Make sure the controls are top notch in this game, please. One of the major issues i had with Wicked Woods, was the controls felt like they would stick. I remember the character would still move even after taking my fingers off the buttons. i was running the game on a 3gs so it should have been able to handle the game ease, but it just felt a little jittery too.
The engine at the time when I published Wicked Woods was not optimal. A lot of the issues I had with the game were out of my control The engine is much better now, and runs much smoother, so you will be sure that the controls will be much better than the original. What I meant by port is that I'm making this game for the iPad, as well as the iphone, sorry for the confusion
