    Count yourself lucky that you can even see a "Games" category...!!!

    This is what I see:

    [IMG]

    No bloody Games at all!!! Just goes straight from "Finance" to Health & Fitness"...

    Seriously, like WTF??? :confused::confused::confused:

    I'm using the UK Store, by the way? Anyone else here in the UK?
    I've checked out the US Store on my Mac, and that has a Games category. I've also quit and re-launched iTunes, just to check. But no, apparently we here in the UK don't play games...

    If I switch to the UK Store, it's gone for me too. Bizarre.

    It's just a UI bug, you'll see.....otherwise I shudder to think about what happens when you click on games to find a good puzzle game, and instead have to sift through hundreds of "friend codez" games. Ugh.

    It's almost too much for me to handle! :p

    I'm downloading iTunes 9 now. I'll wait and see how it goes.

    Hang on... You're in the UK, and you *CAN* see the Games category in the App-Store drop-down?
    Weird... :confused::confused:

    BrettArchibald - I think he's mistaken, in that he sees games available for sale in the store on the home page, but no "Games" category from the pull down list. I just switched to the UK store in iTunes, and there is no "Games" category in my pull down either for the UK.

    @Brett
    When I select the UK store I also cannot see the Games category in the pulldown. Seems they´re still busy with updating databases etc.

    BTW:
    I´m also shocked that the subcategories are missing now...this has to be temporary.. (I hope) Did you notice that they also don´t show the prices in the overview pages - only when you click into the details. :confused:

    Not here; not there; not anywhere!
    Incorrect. Double-click on the subcategory and it'll load up the menu with icon view, including the top 200 paid/free lists for that category. Yeah, so it's a bit backwards, but it's still there.

    Yep, sure enough that process works. But...who wants to go to View, select Show Column Browser, then find the appropriate category and subcategory, then double click, just to get the view the way it should be from the beginning?

    The process should be easy and intuitive, not complicated and annoying. If it's not a UI glitch, and they're not going to change it....at the very least give us an option under preferences or something to customize the view the way we want it, lol.

    UPDATE: The "Games" category is now showing up in the UK App-Store! Woo-hoo! Now all we need is the sub-categories please... :)

    How bizarre. Surely they aren't expecting people to use this method.

    I don't think so - I'm betting subcategories come back soon. In fact I suspect any page that still has the old style (blue background, gray section headers) is going to get replaced with a style similar to the home page.

    Very interesting, and bizarre as pointed out by others! They definitely should not expect normal people to find this. Still could be good news that we'll see easy access to these areas soon?

    Also, that confirms what I've thought all along, Rogue Touch has been riding just on the back side of the top 100 fold in RPGs for ages now (using this method pins me at 105 right now). So close to being seen, but yet so far away. Maybe not an issue if Apple makes the game categories available again in this top 200 mode!

    If it wasn't for all the point BS (who buys this crap? go spoiled teens! ugh) Rogue Touch would probably be in the top 100 already. Take out miscategorized games, and it would be a certainty. Simon the Sorceror and UniWar are RPGs? WTF? Sounds to me like apps should be allowed only one category and if mislabeled should be denied or automatically recategorized. :p

    One day at Apples offices...

    "Ok so heres what were doing, were not adding cameras to the ipod touch and were taking out the sub categories from the gaming section of the app store"

    "OK GENIOUS! WERE GONNA COME OUT ON TOP AGAIN!"
