Had one approved on Sept. 3th, and one on the 4th. Just submitted an update to one of them again, so we'll see what happens this time. Personally, I think you just got stuck with a jerk reviewer, as it makes no sense.

    Yes, you are lucky.
Not all of Apple's reviewers are thorough, and some are as dense as lead.

I asked them why they require a new binary for keyword editing and their response was "Thank you for your inquiry. Please upload a new binary."
So I emailed again and requested a response from a supervisor. Nothing yet.

Regarding that Admob study of App Purchasing being 93% device, and 7% through iTunes, I think that survey may be just a bit flawed (just looked over the article)

    My concerns:
    1) In that study you're self-selecting for people who have apps on their device that display Admob ads. I am going out on a limb here to say most of these are smaller free apps (less than 10MB), and probably downloaded by younger device owners who don't have a credit card or their own private PC to sync to regularly, which of course means they buy *on the device*, even if the price is zero (the survey made no distinction between free and paid downloads).
    2) They're surveying people who actually *respond to ads* ;)
    3) They only had 190 responses out of what, 50 million potential users? That would be like the US goverment using about 1200 households (all in one little town in Nebraska) for reliable census data on the entire USA :D

Personally, I'm with Little White Bear Studios.... Browsing on iTunes all the time. Once I see something I like it's a toss-up whether I buy and sync or simply type the name into my iPhone and download it. This really hurts my ability to browse :p

Don't hold your breath. Took them about 4 months to respond to a non-money question I had for them last Spring. And then the response was, "Thanks, we'll pass this on to the right department."

Woohoo! We have subcategories! Now to fix the glitch so it shows up correctly :D

Yes, there's that. But it does not show you the top 100 (or 200 as it may be now), just a big list sorted by release date (or name, price, etc). Most users will never see this mode. Even worse is that you don't get to see the icons in the Browser mode! Half the fun in browsing the game subcategories before was looking at the icons. :D

Wow, not only is this command cryptic and unlikely to be known by anyone but even if they do figure it out, it looks like ass! I sincerely hope that this is not the replacement view for the list of subcategories.

And you can sort by price and stuff! Nice.

Guys, that subview has been there since the beginning. Nothing new.

I really thought I was going crazy when I first opened iT9 and saw that it was "just" 657 pages of games and couldn't remember if there were subcategories in 8! I agree, average user will never find the subcategories and is going to get easily frustrated trying to find new games and in column view there are no previews.

I'd be pissed if I was a developer.

Point was that that is the ONLY way to get subcategories now.

This all has to be temporary. It makes no sense that they destroy the Games category right after they promote games at the event. Perhaps we'll get a mega fancy game store....

It doesn't make sense to reject apps for inappropriate keywords before the keyword guidelines are released either - yet we had 5 apps rejected...

It doesn't make sense that iTunes Connect thinks version 1.12 is a later version that 1.2 but it does...

Okay, you got me there. But at least that stuff was hidden from customers. This...wow.

Hehe, I was being facetious, but the sarcasm didn't carry through too well. I'm pretty sure that this is a glitch, and even if it was by design, they'll just say it was a glitch and revert back to the way it was before. I don't think they can justify removing subcategories with any sort of logic whatsoever. We need more (and better) organization, not less.

Exactly. They need a Little White Bear Studios category tab. Then all will be right with the world. :)

I agree that they need more categories and organizational methods, that's why I immediately downloaded and installed iTunes 9... to get a glimpse of what wonderful gifts Apple was going to provide us with. And then I found the lump of coal in my stocking....

If this was done intentionally there may not be a logical reason as people at Apple do not think logically. We can only hope that it's a bad dream :p

Oh and I want a subcategory for roguelikes, and a pony! :D
