I was originally turned off by the art style but am so glad I got this. The depth is incredible and time flies by when playing it. There is so much to do and so far I have only played one character! Looking forward to playing more, great job dev!
Hi, Really loving this game Just one question.. Hope anyone can help: Is there anyway to switch Gangs? I'm playing as Apupu right now. His Personal goal is to become a member of three Gangs. So I setup an escape route and have 100 releation to all three Gangs. I became a member of one of them very early and when I'm trying to Switch to one of the other Gangs now The game simply circles between two dialog options: "You will become a member and lose all your Gang respect" which leads to: "You sure you want to betray and join Gang?" Which brings me back to the first message.. Is there a fix to this? Or am I doing it wrong? Regards. And sorry for my bad english (no native speaker here)
What i enjoyed so much about the game is the story created as you played. Lets take my last inmate Rex. He started with only a 40 day sentence, but after less than week in he killed someone and had a added 20years to his sentence. ( it was long) he joined the mafia gang and slowly worked up te ranks, bullying the weak for money. He made quite a few friends who later kept him out of the cooler. Rex was too familiar with the cooler and even had showers in there. As he bullied the weak his gang told rex he had to do a public assasination. So weeks of training it was excuted on roughly week 3. This lead to a death sentence in 30 days. Realizing escape was his only path he devised a plan, but whats this he is missing certian skills? Upon becoming the mafia leader he also had to befriend the weaker he had bullied to learn new skills. Oh how ironic it felt. With the days ticking away, he revised and revised a feasible plan. Taking action he tunneled at night, tunneled at work. Become less social he concentrated at the task at hand. Finally 8 days away from death, he excuted his plan. him and 7 of his fellow inmates snuck through the tunnels from cell to store room, store room to bathroom. He drugged a guard and the dogs to finally escape prison. He had chance to betray his crew, but he felt loyal. All in the process of this he did his best to maintain contact with his wife and beat the crap out of inmates who wanted to mess with him, avoiding the cooler. Like i said, as i played, it slowly felt like a story was unfolding and i enjoyed every minute of it.
Deep, Fun, addictive and Epic. Started with a weak guy, became the strongest, boss of a gang. And escaped like Michaël Scofield with 7 random guys into the dark. I loved this ! Suicided many times too
I just checked. That is a bug. So sorry inmate. I am fixing this bug right now. (ps. Apupu is a 61~70 prisoner! Awesome!) Also, there is a bug on parole hearing, if you failed the next day you still goes to parole hearing, kind of breaks the game. (reported by @TheFantasio974) I am fixing all these and hopefully gets a expedited review by apple's app review team so the update is out asap. Might take afew days though. I disagree with uncle rico as first character, while i started with kenny g and got the hang of the game with him, i believe the clown is the better inmate for the job. Both kenny and clown have joker which helps alot in showers. Clown has money trait which eases some areas. Both are great social character and from what i learned from rex, you need many friends. Friends can help you from going to the cooler ( this sucks alot by the way). Make at least 2 per zone. Cell mates should alwas be part of team. Also as most people know you can gain stats by mad doctor but you also can by them from vendors. This helps alot for the clown. Try to always stock up on bread and apples. If you dont want to be bullied or bothers during the roaming phases, work or socialize and run the clock down. My tips for you all.
I had the mad doctor increase my intelligence but after that it doubled the candles and needles I used to upgrade. Is that a bug? Also at one point I was asked to go to solitary after a bad package given to the first guard and then I hit Back and it no longer asked me to go to solitary.
I am glad they reviewed it too bad my charisma is not high enough. I like this line "Prison Life RPG is surprisingly deep. It simulates a jail with dozens of unique inmates, and let's you run proceed however you like." Thank you, no suggestion is silly. It was actually my original design of the game, each activity is a mini-game(card game, crafting, open lock etc just like fallout series), fighting was animated semi turn based battle! However it turns out mini-games make the whole game too slow and draggy, and there is already so much to learn, with more mini games prisoners will be overwhelmed with endless tutorials, dumb cook will have no time to cook. Glad you chose this prison despite the look is not to your liking Thank you for the bug report, just in time before I was about to submit the update. Yes these are bugs and have been crushed. No problem. Warden has just submitted an updated and request an expedited review or face prison riot. Just got an email Apple has granted the request Hail Apple! H ail Apple! Here are the things fixed: Critical bug: parole hearing rejected but still gets parole hearing everyday. Critical bug: unable to switch gang due to gang leader keep repeating himself. Trolling? Bug: banker unable to work at warden's office cause it's not tax return month yet Bug: able to avoid being sent to solitary by pressing back button (I am sure some of you noticed this but decided not to report! Own up now!) Bug: mad doctor operation gives items instead of using them. Is he really mad? Changed: skip tutorial will skip all other tiny tutorials too. We are too smart for tutorials. Changed: parole guard relationship requirement from 85% to 100% Changed: spelling desert to dessert. Ok warrden have bad engrish but who care it's prisson. Added: a link to this thread. If u can find it.
Thanks for the bug fixes! I hope this is released soon. In the meantime I will enjoy my item duplicator while avoiding solitary.
so after spending a few more hours with this game, Its my fav current Ipad game why you ask? the replayability, I don't think I ever beat a game and started right away with a different Character but this game I did do that, more then once Now here is my questions to the warden or inmates. 1.How do you get to the wardens office and guards office? 2. roughly how many ways can you escape, not how just a Number to avoid spoilers. 3. To the game dev I feel like I am playing a game you truly loved making and looking at other games you made this seems like the biggest one, how long did it take to make this game and how proud are you of the final Product? This game is great and I can recommend this to anyone who wants this type of game!
I finished a run through as Barto yesterday. When I started I immediately went on stealing as much as I could and training other skills to aide my thieving ways. Eventually I got sick of legolas as my cell mate and killed him getting me a 99 year life sentence. So seeing as how I had time on my side I proceeded to learn every skill and getting all the mad doctors upgrades I became unstoppable. Assassinating people in the shower became an everyday thing. Then one day I got sick of Boxir not liking me in my Gang and I stabbed him in the yard earning me a death sentence. Deciding I had enough with prison life I flexed my muscles and also killed my gang leader. That afternoon i went to work in the wardens office and started my escape plan. First kidnapping the warden then I believe I killed him before moving on to jump on the roof of a bus and blend in with my rain coat as it drove into the night eventually stopping I jumped down and stabbed the guard that was driving. I took the bus and drove off into the night.
Love all the references to Fallout, Stephen Chow comedies, LOTR and many others! After playing through about 10 -11 characters, I've recently come up with some of the fastest ways to play through this game. If you have the steal option, always choose to steal burgers over DIY magazines because the burgers give 100 energy in addition to 30 happiness with only a cost of 5 health. Doing that, I am playing a total insomniac mode now with most of my inmates not sleeping at all because there is no penalty if you can end the night with over 50 energy. Doing so, you can easy learn any skill you want within 1 night by using all 10 night hours on mastering a skill 10/10 or 3 nights if it is 30/30. If you have nothing else to do at night, craft some items like the drugged cup of coffee so you have it in your inventory in case the quest to drug the boxer comes up suddenly, so you will always be prepared to take it and rig the boxing match. With relatively harder guys to survive like the nerd (almost always drop the soap in the shower), make sure to always have a DIY magazine or a burger in your inventory so you can keep the happiness level over 30.
Agree, Nerd is really Nerficult. Survive 20 days, get executed and goal achieved. My understanding right?
This is damn near a perfect iPhone game, I can't believe how deep this one is. Building your character and have the story play out in front of you is so much fun. If you're on the fence thinking it's just a shocking novelty game... You couldn't be more wrong! No iap, deep game with so many stories to build! Hours slip by playing, it's the best time management point and click I've seen in awhile (FTL )! Two thumbs up, put that on the back of the box!
I must confess that I thought 4$ was too much before I bought it. That was the first day and boy was I wrong! If anyone else is worried about the price, just buy it. Totally worth it.
This is probably the only place where people complain about 2 pounds being too expensive without being ashamed lol
