Don't worry, you're not alone . AC2 is definitely way underrated. I paid $9.99 for it and don't regret it one bit. One of the best games on the app store (with the exception of the frequent lag on my 1g )
On AC1 vs AC2: It's a matter of taste, absolutely. (Except that I'm right ) Seriously, though, the thing about AC1 was that the static perspective made it so that on many jumps you ended up having the wrong perspective -- I found that to be endlessly frustrating. When I bring up Skater Nation I'm not referring to the controls or the combo system (which seem to be main reasons people hate the game) but the dynamic camera that kept you at the center of the action and focused on your objective. I think a similar system could be used to create a very playable iPhone version of PoP.
Talking of AC2, both me and my friends didn't think it was worth £1.79, or even £0.59. It's currently on page 4 of my apps.
I really can't muster the energy to argue this point. You either "get" AC2, or you don't. For what it's worth, I thought it was worth the $30.00 DS owners paid for the same game.
Splinter Cell Zombie Infection Hero Of Sparta II Iron Man 2 Now Prince of Persia? My wallet shall suffer.
The wallet will be fine. The way gameloft has been lately it will be 2 years or so before we see all of those games.
I want a good game, period. Prince of Persia is one of the most enduring franchises in gaming history, and deserves nothing less than a stellar effort.
If it's an open game like the console versions then that would be great, but it would also be cool if the gameplay was like a throwback to the original side-scrolling game. Actually, I think it should have both.
That would be cool. I do find it interesting to hear all this disdain for side-scrollers here when games like Shadow Complex and the forthcoming Bionic Commando reboot are so popular with console gamers.
Well, I'm in the section for the open action games as opposed to the side-scrollers, which I've just never been a big fan of. I don't want to get this too far off topic, but I can't possibly imagine a game like Devil May Cry being nearly as good if Capcom decided to make it a side scroller.
Yeah, as I said in another thread, people are expecting too much from developers. Developing takes time, it's a long process, but I don't really give a shit how long it takes, so long as the final game is good. And I find it particularly annoying when people get cross with Gameloft for not releasing games. They released Fishing Kings last month, they released Blokus this month and now they are working on 7 big iPhone games at more or less the same time. They are producing more games at a quicker rate than any other dev, give them a chance!
This game IS in fact Prince of Persia. I have cracked the code . Look at my website: http://iphonetouchreviews.blogspot.com/2010/04/update-it-is-in-fact-prince-of-persia.html Clearly the sword in the iPhone teaser and the sword on the website are the same
