yeah, Gameloft has mentioned several times that it's an exact port, all the levels, all the voice actors and everything. And at least we got a solid release date!! I don't actually care anymore that it's not coming out in may. This is gonna be one of the best iPhone game to hit the app store ever!
I'll wait as long as it takes.

yeah,i know that but the Dahaka is the real chaser:)
and the original game had 24 levels and 12 seemed a lot gameloft-style...

my guess is that we'll have to pay a full 10$ for this one. It's pretty obvious. Whenever Gameloft releases a game that was also released on the console(Avatar, Splinter Cell) it's always bumped up to 10$. This is just a guess though, only time will tell...

Glad you realized that. Every scene shown on that video corresponds, almost "shot for shot", with the PS2/PSP version. Anyone worrying whether this is a new "Gameloft" version of the game at this point is just being silly.

im sorry but i cant help it,i always tend to expect less of a game and then be blown away rather than expecting a super-ultra-mega-console-quality-game and be disappointed:D
and also im a BIG pop fan so thats why i want this to be perfect:)

Let me put your mind at ease: this will not be perfect ;). The PSP version was really good but it had issues; I would expect the same for this version. The framerate looks decent on the video, but not as good as the console version. Control-wise, I'm still skeptical if the responsiveness will be good enough to keep the Dahaka sequences from getting frustrating (one of the issues I had with the PSP version).

The thing about PoP is that, even if it turns out to be just "good," it will still be a great (in fact, unprecedented) iPhone game.

yeah i know, rayman 2 and driver were ps and pc ports from late 90's but to get a full ps2 game on the iphone...that has to raise the bar for other developers!:D

but no actual gameplay was shown
those could just be from the other versions
now i'm worried that the framerate might be bad especially for my iPhone Ancient :(

After the disappointment that was Splinter Cell I'm going to be cautious about this one

What was dissapointing about the game? Did you go into SPCC thinking that it would be exactly like the console on an idevice, which has nowhere near the power of the home consoles? The game is fine for what it is and that is a TPS with some stealth thrown into it. At least it's not as bad as shrek was with the freezing in like every level at different parts and horrible camera angles. I swear shrek needed another few months in development the game freezed on my wife's 3g iphone and my 3gs at different locations, as i wanted to test and see if it was my phone. I wonder when gameloft is going to make a decent 3d platfomer that allows us to move the camera ourselves.
