Which app is the "best"? iDOS or Power DOS? And which of the three iDOS apps is the current one?
One is called iDOS, another iDOS 2 and a third one something wierd...

I'm on an iOS8 iPhone 5 by the way.

I'm also no stranger to DOSBox but have never done much more advanced than mount d: d:\, d: and run setup.exe to setup games.

iDOS2 App store reviews currently say you cannot enter commands and only play Duke and that other game right now?

    ok

take an app for PC/MAC like iFunbox or Diskaid (imo the best one), connect the device and then go to Documents folder under PowerDOS (you'll find it under main Apps directory)... now you can put there your DOS games folders... so when you'll run PowerDOS you'll see the folders in the DOS directory, ready to be opened to run the appropriate exe or bat file.

    thats all folks!

btw, iDOS is an older version, iDOS 2 & PowerDOS are the same version, but PowerDOS is better 'cause has the DOS prompt free to run everything (like the original)

Most DOS games were fairly simple:

    1) copy a folder containing the game's files to the Documents folder on iDOS/iDOS2/POWERDOS using iFunbox or iExplorer

    2) Load iDOS

    3) browse to the game's directory (i.e. "cd rogue" if that's the folder you copied over)

    4) type the name of the .EXE or .BAT that starts the program.

Some games require you to copy over, then install and/or specify certain drives/reconfigure DOSBox/etc. If you google "How do I run XYZ under DosBOX those steps will (mostly) work here.

They're all configurable and you can copy the utilities from one to the other.
DOS 2 has a nicer icon!

They're cheap, and history suggest there's a possibility one might get pulled, why not get both?

Is there a way to make games run faster? I'm currently playing Daggerfall and it's pretty laggy when I'm in the towns/cities and dungeons.

Well can you confirm not only two games are playable in iDos 2?

A couple of App Store reviews (2 out of 3) for the current version say only Duke and the other built in game are playable and that you can't enter any commands other than to play those two games supposedly.

Then those reviewers are idiots. You can run anything in iDOS 2, all you need to do is edit the launcher menu, or remove it entirely and run whatever you want from the command line. It's easier to edit the launcher though, so you can start games (or programs) with a single button press.

Try the method from the Ultima page I linked to earlier if you need help editing the file. It's not difficult at all.

Star Wars Dark Forces plays nicely with the virtual pad, and having the original DOS version is way nicer than the Playstation version on the PSP. It's also cool to play Doom 2 since we never got that game in iOS Classic Doom.

Wow, just beat E1M1. I decided to go with Power DOS because of the nicer icon. It doesn't have any auto-run which iDOS 2 supposedely has and I didn't manage to get the virtual joystick working (spinning backwards and to the left constantly) but other than control issues and 16:9 when tilting this is amazing.

    Bluetooth keyboard support?

Any chance there's Bluetooth keyboard support in Power DOS?
