Buy Power DOS, download iFunBox Classic freely on your computer, plug in your device, open iFunBox Classic, navigate to user apps, POWERDOS, Documents, Games and just Ctrl+V whatever DOS games you want! Then open the app and write for example:
cd doom (change directory to games/doom)
    doom (name of game .exe)
    And:
cd c:/games (gets you back up)

    C:/ is Documents.

Has anyone gotten the old EA game Seal Team to run? That was my all time favorite military game back n the day.

i've just tried it, works fine but a bit slow on my iPhone 4S, guess it should run better on a newer device.

    Paying Somebody
Who wants to make some money? $80 - $100 (potentially more)

Ok, so lets get to it.
I have no idea how to do this. Never messed with dos in my life. Played games on it which my friends already had installed. I'm 37. But never did the techie stuff. I was always out in the streets.

To much dos epeen measuring going on in here.

No one really helping out us ppl that do not understand this stuff. 17 pages (as I type this) and only Allen and Kullogo (sorry if I mispelled) are the only ones who took the time to describe in plain English for those of us that don't understand. Kudos to you guys. But guess what. I still don't get it and it's not the games I want. However, what I do get, is money.

So since money talks, then, let's talk.

If you have a paypal, and want to make $80 to $100 (maybe more) Feel free to respond to me in a quote and we can take it from there. If I sense you're bs, I'm ignoring you.

    WHAT I AM PAYING FOR:
For you to create, test (make sure it works: sound/frame rate) and then pass me those codes/batch file/directory/executable (whatever it's called) via Dropbox/email.

I then, take those/that code, copy paste into powerdos and boom! My list of game titles come up. I can then scroll through which games I'd like to play. That's it! You get paid, I get play.

The games I want is "turn based squad tactics" games:
    XCOM
    Wasteland
    Fallout
(Any others I've missed within this genre? Let me know, I will pay more, for more titles)

Also, I want the Mario Bros. Whichever one this thing can add/play.

    Specs:
I'll be running this on my iPhone 6+ (have no idea if this matters, but there it is)

Yes I'm serious. Who's up for some good old fashioned business?

Edited by a mod - Things like this aren't advisable as in the past we've had issues where 'person x' doesnt pay or person b makes out they didnt get the money (when they did) etc.

Wow, man. Thanks for totally ignoring my exact instructions above. I learned this only a day ago so that’s literally all you need to know. If there’s any step that’s unclear just ask. I’ll be back in 10 minutes with a report if XCOM (the original) works well.

I dont think Fallout will work, that came out in 1998 and i dont think its a true DOS program is it ? Thought it was via Windows.

Do agree its easy to add games, use the menu builder etc.

Okay, I have a couple of DOS emulators on iOS before so what makes this one better than the previous ones then?

Compared to iDOS? Modern widescreen support, mostly. And the developer has already had some nice updates to it.

Not much difference between PowerDOS and iDOS2. Easily worth the buck each though, provided what they do. (Mostly I miss Manomino's C64 app, now I'm emulating inside an emulator! ;) Crud, goes back to the days of running NT running 3.1 running GEOS. Nowadays you could do much more than that, my iPhone runs Windows 3.11 fine, then a DOS C64 emulator, then run GEOS and run a VIC20 emulator under that...)

Speaking of emulators inside of emulators, what are everyone's favorite choices of emulators for classic consoles and computers?

I tried the following and was a little disappointed in performance on my 6 plus. Perhaps I need to do some tweaking.

O2EM (Odyssey 2): no sound, slow performance
Genecyst (Sega Megadrive/Genesis): small window, no sound, slow performance

Curious, how or where can I find info about Odyssey 2?

Odyssey 2 on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnavox_Odyssey%C2%B2It came out around the same time as the Atari 2600/VCS, and its early games were more sophisticated than the first VCS games. It fell behind as Atari got many more arcade licenses and way more 3rd party games.

It was not a popular console by most measurements, but I liked it when I was a kid and there aren't many emulators for it except for the DOS-based O2EM. http://o2em.sourceforge.net/

Control+F11/Control+F12 as needed to adjust clock cycles.

It's been a long time since I've played the Odyssey 2. One of my friends had one.

Thanks, will mess with the cycles.

Pick Axe Pete! for Odyssey 2 hasn't been topped IMHO.

Last month while playing Space Miner I realized that two of my all-time favorite games are about miners. What's up with that.

There's just something great about miner games, like the old favorites Miner 2049'er and whatever that new one was, MineSomethingOrOther that sold like 87 bazillion copies... ;)

Dug Dug, Mr. Do, Splunker - mining games were even well represented in the Arcade era... (can anyone think of one older than 1982?)

    Dossy,

I apologize. I honestly DID not see your post. How the hell did I miss it and you are representing the game I love. (XCOM) Thanks for making me aware. I will pay attention to your posts. Now please, report!

And thanks to those sending me private messages trying to be helpful and warning me of scammers.

I thought the screenshot would be report enough. I only tested it briefly but it seems to work smoothly and since it's turn based the touch-to-swipe-mouse and tap-and-hold to simulate a mouse click all seems to work very well. I can see myself playing XCOM on the go soon.

First of all, this is amazing. I've pretty much got the hang of things. I have some key suggestions, but I'll save those for a bit later. I do have one question.

How to use DOSBox screen capture? The reason this is important is because it is capturing the native resolution and lossless PNG, not what is appearing upscaled on the screen.

I tried adding captures=C:\SCREENS (and of course I made that directory) to the [dosbox] section of DOSPAD.CFG which lives in C:\ root, but no luck on using the standard CTRL-F5 to capture a screen.

    Can anyone help? Thank you!
