It took me, I don't know, about 30-35 minutes I think... Depends on how much you die. It's shorter than I expected. It was fun while it lasted. I kind of want to play it again... And I did, I won a second time. Still... it's short. Any secret stuff? A possibility: Spoiler Does anything special happen if you win without any game overs? There was an achievement for that on the PC version. I googled the game to try to find out if there were any secrets.
After spamming the 'buy' button for the better part of an afternoon I can safely say that this may be diminutive in duration but is colossal in concept (and execution, LOVE the Llamasoft/Madgarden-isms). Dare I say masterpiece? Totally in love with this.
Wow. That was weird. In an awesome uniquely weird way. Felt like I took some psychedelics, especially right before the final scene. I can honestly say I've never experienced anything quite like this game before. I started to play again and noticed Spoiler a little potato near my Potatoman at the beginning. I don't know if there is any significance to it or if it was there all along. I don't really know what else to say... I'm feeling.. Strange... In a good way. So, if you wanna play a very unique "what in the world just happened" game, then play Potatoman Seeks The Troof ! Rock on Pixeljam!
Just finished it. Loved it from the title screen to the very end. Amazing last level. And it's quite touching for a bunch of pixels. Money well spent. Indie gaming at ifs best.
So nicely balanced - the player movement (which I thought I'd hate - not usually into such floaty systems) matches the AI and the artwork perfectly. I REALLY wish this was MFi, my fat fingers keep covering the action... (though the touch controls work perfectly). This is a great game.
Not sure it's either. It shouldn't do that . Perhaps it's getting booted out of memory? Do you have a lot of other apps open?
Sorry to sound like a noob, but what is the standard mfi controller these days? Something apple-created or various third party stuff? Like 8-bitty, iCade, etc?
They did use the phrase "close the app" so I'm guessing they "booted it out" themself. In that case the question would be "does it save?" Judging by your response, the answer is no...? Right. That's a no.
Thanks for all the positive feedback folks! Really glad to see people liking the game. If you can, please leave a review for it. That helps a lot! Sequel: who knows. Guess it depends on how well this one sells We got a little feature from apple today, maybe that will help...
Apple. This should give you a good overview, pretty straightforward to support: https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/ServicesDiscovery/Conceptual/GameControllerPG/Introduction/Introduction.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40013276-CH1-SW1 I bought the MadCatz iOS controller recently and love it. I barely touch xbox or steam anymore. Love this + glork btw, great job you guys.
Man this game is great, but so short... It feels like a prologue and it NEEDS to be continued. So much potential, this can be the platformer of the year! I suggest to update with more levels and raise the price, like Wayward Souls. Or to expand with a DLC like Monument Valley and Tiny Thief (but this way a lot of a**holes will rage about it).
That's kind of uncalled for here. Considering how short it is already, charging more as DLC would result in even more people complaining about paying again. Like you said yourself, it's really short. It can be beaten in less than a half hour. *puts up flame shield*
I agree. That's why I think it's a better idea to add more levels and raise the price to $3. That's what Wayward Sould did and also Knights of Pen & Paper with the +1 Edition. I think it's good for early adopters and for the developers. By the way, this is an amazing, short, crazy and fun retro platformer, just like Eletronic Super Joy: Groove City. It's pretty hard to choose which one I like better (and I would really, REALLY, REEEEALLYYYYY like to play more of both of them).
That ending...I can't imagine this game wasn't created under the influence of something illegal. That said, loved the games difficulty (and weird humor.)
Hey Pixeljam, why isn't there an iOS Dinorun port yet?! On topic - after beating this, can't say I enjoyed it too much... Too random, frustrating, and short for my taste... I don't get it. :/
Guys, this has been out on PC for a couple of years now...if new levels were to be added, wouldn't they have already been added?
