If you had read the full thread, I didn't have permission from Valve to make it... The reason there was no screens, was because I wanted to get permission before I waisted like 3 months on an amazing project.
Why screw valve? Someone announced that they were making a version of one of Valves most loved games without permission. They intended to profit off of valves intellectual property and the value valve built into the property. They even insisted they were going to include GLADOS and a continuation of the storyline valve created. They announced it as a fact, then decided to go to valve after the fact. Why shouldn't valve protect their property? It is pretty much accepted as a certainty that valve is creating theur own sequel that will meet their rigorous quality standards, why would they want someone else to create competition for the game, confusion fir the consumer, and most likely an inferior product that would be connected to valve? This game was never going to happen. It's no different than someone deciding to publish their own spider-man comics and hoping Narvel won't mind. Personally after reading the very first post in this thread I couldn't understand why anyone thought this game was really being made.
How is the graphical quality of the game? It has a very efficient engine that runs great on even very old PC hardware. I would be expecting OpenGL 2.0 support and the same graphics as the full version at highest settings (without anti-aliasing and antrioscopic filtering).
I suspect this developer didn't even try to open negotiations with them, or else just sent them a silly email like "I want to make a copy of your game, sell it, and keep the profits, can I do that?". From a business point of view, there's no reason why Valve wouldn't grant a license. They don't have any platform exclusivity deals and aren't involved in any disputes over ownership, and to my knowledge have no developers working on any iPhone games of their own, so they have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
IT WAS REAL!!!!!!! Mods, lock this thread so people can stop complaining and saying I am a fake developer!!! I AM REAL! IT WAS REAL!
Steam was mostly built for the PC.. It HAS JUST CAME OUT FOR MAC. So there is pretty much no way they're making any iPod games. Valve is still awesome IMO If you're gonna base a game off another game then why the hell try to make it the same lol There was a couple PC games based off portal. But eh they all sucked I'd rather play the original.
Just release it on cydia and post at least one screen! And to all of you who don't like jailbreaking....... I don't care.
This whole thread is a joke and should be closed. I'm going to start a thread when I decide to port Halo to the iPhone. Oh, wait a minute. I don't have the rights for it. Ummm...never mind...
