I'm working on my next indie release, this time it's a longer project that's going to take between 6 months to 1 year. Things are starting to work out and the pre-beta version of the game is a lot of fun to play. I'm around 4 months in, and I have to start making calls in some urgent matters. One is the title - I have a working title, but it doesn't seem to be catchy enough according to my limited tests. so here are the current candidates: 1. Tracksuit Ninja (working title) Based on the genre's Bruce Lee style costume and suggesting some trashy style 2. Ninja Therapy This is more aimed at pro-casual / next cool thing seekers, with a story based on the game's heroine going through a special type of martial arts therapy and on the same time taking the player through a therapy through violence. 3. I am not a Ninja A sort of off-beat twisty, artistic, quirky name without much going for it except that it's a bit different. 4. Chainsaw Corp Moving away from the word ninja in the title. One of the game's tougher enemy bosses is a chainsaw bearing girl, and the game can be more focused around fighting her and her forces. 5. Super Ninja Retro Or something along those lines, paying tribute to the 'super' N64 inspired genre, and spelling out the word retro for the starry eyed nostalgia seekers. More info on this TA thread. Here's a screenshot of the game for some extra info: Thanks for your advice. would love to hear your insight. Gur
I personally like Tracksuit Ninja the best as it hints at a chavy warrior which is a funny original slant on this genre. - "Chav" only works in UK. Although tracksuits are pretty universal as a working class uniform in Europe and the US. But if you go for a comedy name you'd need a more satirical story and probably funnier visuals so maybe its best to avoid funny names unless you want to re-skin a few characters.
