I've been playing (on and off) since shortly after the release and it's absolutely the GREATEST mobile game I've ever played. This is absolutely worth the money and even more!! I've gotten "Flawless" "Polara" and the Special on all levels up to (but not including) Level 30 with the exception of only the final "A" in Level 18 (which I cannot even find). I'm starting to reach a mental block that will not allow me to continue (although I'm still going on those "Endless" levels) until I get all caught up. This may not be the place for this... but any hints as to the location of that final "A?"
Finished! Finally, been playing this for quite a while... well since the beginning (not first day release but close) I been enjoying the hell of out this game, and just now I beaten it, and saw the ending. So my summary: Good: you may think its another auto runner, that the backgrounds are simple and that a color swaping mechanic could be boring or simple, it happened to me too... and its a wrong perception, well maybe for the backgrounds, but after a couple of levels you will forget that and fully enjoy it. Never a "simple" mechanic has given to many different patterns and alternatives before... Polara just keeps on amazing the player with well thought puzzles and a flawless level design all the way trough... There is never a dull moment, nor it becomes frustrating. Other than this, great responsive controls, great soundtrack, great puzzles and level design (again), retina, gamecenter... A little sci-fi story mode which is a nice touch. 6 different endless levels, different objectives for each level... There is plenty of replayability here, almost endless And NO IAP at all. Bad: Nothing at all. Conclusion: Along Rayman Jungle Run, the best auto-runner on the AppStore. Period. No debate. Final Rating: 5 out of 5. A must have, a gem. I hope this works makes another gem like this for iOS.
It's past the checkpoint after you pick up the L. Once you pass the checkpoint stay blue. Jump over (under) the first two blue platforms and then over (under) the two sets of red orbs. The final A is just past those set of red orbs.
100percentindie.com Hey all, 100percentindie.com just published a story on our title Polara on their front page! About 30 minutes ago i opened my polara app, marvelled at my 100% complete stages, and then i went to the main menu, tapped options, and tapped DELETE SAVE DATA. I've completed the first 7 levels so far, complete with POLARA letters and the Special items. Now that i've got reason to play this again, the next days are gonna be purely awesome.
Yes, Polara, to this day, is the second best auto-runner (runner, not endless or infinite) there is. Period. I would do the same if it werent for the mountain of games to finish that I have on my cue....
Hey gents! Glad to hear you're still enjoying the title Just thought I'd mention, if you have any friends with Android devices, we have recently signed with a publisher and are offering our first title Kunundrum for free on the Android platform under Mango Publishing. We have plans on releasing Polara as well! The iOS side of things is still in development unfortunately... but hopefully we'll get there. Anyway keep on having fun
Great news HTWGames! I think there are quite a few people here who have some kind of Android device at their house nowadays. Be sure to keep us informed! (There is an Android subforum here at TA).
Hey Lena I certainly will! I know this isn't the forum really... but I just wanted to let those that have been supportive know that we're still trying to push forward. I posted the free message in the Android forums, about 800 took a look. So that's pretty cool I just hope people are able to get their hands on Kunundrum. It's a great puzzle game to challenege you and pass the time. Hopefully Polara will be done in a month or less! Cheers
Now up to 13 flawless and complete levels. Polara reminds me the reason why i love Duet and Monkey Ninja too much. The simplest mechanics combined with the most well-thought of obstacles make for some ingenious game design.
Hmmm... Monkey Ninja is one if the few Donut Games that I don't have. Think I may need to change that. Oh, and with as many changes as I make all the time deleting, downloading and redownloading, Polara remains a constant on my device. With the painful sacrifices I make almost every week, that says a lot.
Monkey Ninja is my favorite Donut Games game. It's similar to Run Roo Run in its core, but less strict, and offers a bit more to the core mechanics with a secondary function that does a lot of things.
Polara is one of the select few games I keep coming back to, it's never going to leave my iDevices. One of the best and most inventive games on the AppStore in my opinion.
65 deaths on completing the letters and getting the Special item on level 15. Im already 18 levels in with 100% completion. I read the article posted by HTWG and im really sad to hear that Polara doesnt make much income despite how good the game is. I hope HTWG makes some money for either a new game, or a Polara sequel.
You guys are awesome haha I think one of the key components to why a game doesn't do well is the mass appeal of the title. When starting the game we were discussing what style we wanted to go with. Unfortunately the votes went more towards a darker, action sci-fi theme with a female protagonist instead of a cutesy soft comic look. With a lack of funding for major advertising, asking for money upfront, an icon people don't understand I think people shied away from it. The 'endless runner' tag didn't help either...people are kinda tired of that genre. We made a platformer that just happens to auto-run. Also people tend to put their backs up when recommendations come down the pipeline. They don't trust enough to spend a buck....so...we'll put it out for free under our publisher and see how it does Again....it's all up to mass appeal. And in my experience, if you don't have major coverage and emphasis on how well the title is, then the majority will not bother because they choose on influence more than personal interest. Just seems to be the way of the world really...I mean really, why else would Hannah Montana turn into Madonna? Anyway it should be fun to watch what happens with Polara when it goes free. I do hope the hardcore out there gives it a go. I honestly believe they would appreciate the care taken in the level designs. Oh...there is also the DS version. I need to check with Circle Entertainment to see how that's coming along!
It's just going free on Android, right? I hope it does well and, assuming that you have IAPs, that it gives you some deserved cash influx. Awesome to hear that you're doing a DS version!
Yes only Android for now as per the publishers lead. IAP hasn't been built into the title as our budget won't allow. Seems to be a broken record effect with that statement haha And yes the DS version will just be a straight port over to the software store on the DS platform.
