Universal Pokemon Shuffle (by The Pokemon Company)

I enjoy this on my 3DS, but I struggle to progress because I don't usually play daily and most of the special events are for very high-level players. So, starting at the bottom with everyone else, I'm really interested to see if it translates well here.

 

I think the Togepi level is rigged to force you to buy a Great Ball. I've done it 8 times with no luck - I had a 92% catch rate and it still failed. Hmm.

Update: Nevermind. I got it. Oy.

Well,

I tried it. I had to. What I liked? The graphics and match gameplay are great. It's fun. There's no ads either.

What I didn't like? The heart timers and the fact that there's no way to purchase unlimited hearts. The cost of jewels to get the hearts is high. So this isn't a game for me. Also the amount of text in the tutorial is crazy. I sighed multiple times lol

Yep, literally just a match 3 Pokémon game where you kill enemies by matching the cards. I highly doubt Nintendo will ever release Super Mario Bros. or Donkey Kong on mobile.

 

Hmmm, spend my time playing this or playing Emerald with GBA4iOS ? . . . .

 

I'd definitely recommend playing Emerald over match-3 game. But it depends on what you prefer.

 

Sarcasm is tough to portray with only a QWERTY keyboard.

 

I was quite enjoying it until I hit stage 8 and I had to capture pikachu and I defeated him in one move and I still couldn't catch him without buying a big ball.
I mean seriously how could I possibly beat that?

Unless I've missed a massive part of the scoring rules.....

You just got unlucky. Unless you have a 100% chance of success, it is possible to fail the capture.

 

I think you just have to try more often. I caught quite a few Pokemon where the chance was around 10%. It's all RNG.
And a big ball or even a hight percentage of chance doesn't guarantee a catch on the other hand.

Just move on, level up your Pokemon and catch them later.

 

This. I feel like in a lot of games, a 60% chance of success might as well be 100%. Here, you can fail at 90% and succeed at 10%. Surprisingly serious business.

 

Does this game need continuous internet connection??

 

The catching mechanic is according to the percentage it says, sometimes you are lucky and sometimes you are not. I caught Mew with 3% chance on my 3DS way back when it was just released.

 

What a surprise. Really enjoying this!

 

Btw: Togepi doesn't appear rigged lol. I beat him with 4-5 moves left +3500 bonus at 53% capture rate and capture him in first try.

Although before that trying to capture pigeo I failed at 83% so had to retry and called him second try.

Yeah RNG is messed up in this game lol still can't complain caught Mew with less then 10% catch rate lol

 

Lol yeah that happened with lucario for me too but I missed an 80% catch rate.

 

Too bad that there isnt a EU version yet.
