I've found the tracker much more reliable than previous versions. If I see something appear on it and keep heading in the same direction, I usually find it. The "travelling too fast" popup is getting annoying though, as I usually get it when I'm walking but leave the app to do something and come back after 30 seconds. Having to tap "I'm a passenger" when I'm not even in a vehicle is quite annoying. #firstworldproblems and all that.
I was Pokéhunting in the Tuileries garden near the Louvre in Paris today. It was crazy, half the people there were playing. I expanded greatly my Pokédex, there were a lot of rares and evolved Pokémons and lures all the time. I like that different neighborhoods don't have exactly the same type of Pokémons. All in all, a nice 10 km walk on a sunny day
Anyone's impressions on the appraise feature? I'm just underwhelmed by the fact it states whether the pokemon is large or small... Edit: OK the appraisal seems contradictory somewhat. For example, I have a pokemon that is "not great in battle" but the leader is "blown away by its stats". Does it mean it's got bad attacks? (Its attacks ARE bad according to sites that list attack dps)
I like the new appraisal feature, but it's hard to say how it helps as long as battling is limited to gyms. I know the big/small comment doesn't tell us anything about what that even means, but the other info is great when you're trying to decide which, of two or more of the same pokemon, to evolve. I don't like that *this* is the only thing in the update worth mentioning. At this rate, we should see PvP by the holidays? I'm sure there'll be plenty of players still, but I can't imagine I'll be playing that often by then.
The appraisal system is an attempt to snuff out IV rater sites like Silph Road, and without providing RAW NUMBERS, it will have to keep trying. Everything your leader says actually means something, from whether or not all 45 points of IV (between the 3 stats) are in the 80-100 percentile, 60-79 percentile, 0-50 etc. in addition, they also give a hint if AT LEAST one stat is high, and generally how high, and if it matches any other stat in a type (numerically speaking). If I could attach a pic via mobile I would... As I have a graph from Reddit that gives each possible gym leader's response, however here is the link (not sure if I'll get banned for it or whatever these days) https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemongo/comments/4z5qtl/all_appraisal_text_lines_and_pokemon_iv/?st=IS9B95JS&sh=0bc40938
Worth it for the jokes. Name your Pokemon "butt" and then screenshot away. "Oh, you want me to look at your butt?" "That butt is a BIG one." Etc.
I'm having a blast finally able to play... I believe as time goes on this game will become something really really great. Especially with all the cash and support they are having as an influx
I think I'm finally done with this. Another wave of tracker shut downs. The current update has broken the game literally. As of now I have no Pokémon even popping up in city areas. My "buddy" disappears occasionally. So now it's pretty much unplayable. Kinda hard to use the medal "perks" to catch Pokémon types when there are no Pokémon to catch.
Lol this is funny. So I'm disabled. I can't really walk around too much. So I don't play this game. My daughter does. So yesterday she sends me her location. Beijing China. I text her back wtf?? She texts me again oh I'm in Central Park now. She downloaded some gps spoofing thing to test it so I could play and catch Pokemon hahaha It's hilarious what people think up. Billy
Just visited my local Gyms. It took me nearly half an hour to take down a gym which only had three Pokémon in it - and then I couldn't claim any money and stardust from it. Without that I'm not quite seeing the incentive to bother taking gyms any more
