That's not really how server management works. There's no such thing as "they know how much they need" as it changes from hour to hour. As I said, there are services specifically designed to alleviate this issue, and whatever they're using is not up to the task. I'm absolutely with you regarding your frustration. I have actually deleted the game because there are too many other games wanting my attention and they actually work consistently. However, the solution is more complicated than you perceive it to be. It took months for Tapped Out to dig themselves out of the same hole, they even pulled the game from the AppStore in the meantime.
I was able to fix this following the re-calibration instructions. Apparently it's a known problem. What i did: 1) Opened the Compass settings from Settings_>Compass_>Use true north Enabled 2) Opened the Compass app, and did a figure-8 motion with my hand after that, in pokemon go i am facing in the correct direction - WHEN i can log in - sigh.
Of course I'm sure there is much to it I don't understand or know I just think it should have been done already because of the resources they must have at their disposal, money can do anything. Plus it just amazes me how the launched it in more countries again all while the servers are already terrible. I don't blame you deleting it, I find myself wondering why I bother as I know I'll get bored of it at some point. So far I've just kept it because the woman enjoys going out and I really don't so this distracts me
Guys, any ideas why when I click on the Pokemon I have caught, the map where I caught them is now a white box? I used to be able to see where I caught them.
It still works for me, but they changed it from the block you're on to general location (can't complain about that). It does get confused often now, though. Thinks I'm in NJ instead of NY.
Other AR games When I opened this game it immediatly reminded me of another AR game I played several years ago. I searched for the game, and found it. It was called "Shadow Cities". But then, reading a bit more I saw that Niantic was accused in the time of ripping off Shadow Cities with Ingress. I think it's just that, being both map-based AR games, it's normal for them to have similarities. Though, I'd really like Niantic to copy the team chat Shadow City had in the day... We'll see.
I'm guessing this has launched in another country (Japan?) in the last hour or so since I'm either unable to connect at all, or nothing on the maps loads.
Haha! We likely should thank Japan for falling in love with Pokemon which allowed us to have access to it. Many games never leave Japan or the Asian market that are supposed to be great...
Not yet in jp stores so dont blames us yet if yours aint working lol Anyway get ready when its out here
