Great game to encourage becoming more active and walking around. Not surprised at all that it became very popular and raised Nintendo's stock by 10% Are they planning on making an interface for gym attacks? What about trading?
Hopefully they'll make a bunch more stuff. I'm working all day with other players and would enjoy trading during the day. At least it would be something to do while stuck. I haven't even visited a gym yet. Haven't had the time to get out to one. At least I can catch 5-10 Pokemon from home to work and back.
Can't log into my trainer club account. Keep getting unable to authenticate message. I am based in the UK. Edit. Working now
Since updating I count login now. I'm using the Pokemon trainer club account. Anyone else getting unable to authenticate error? Update I reset my iPhone after the update and it let me login. Question: I was finally give the option to leave one of my Pokemon's at a gym. What does this do for me overall? It says it won't be returned to me until it is defeated. Thanks for the info...
It'll give you 500 stardust and 10 gold coin for each gym. So if you have 5 gyms in your area in which you have your pokemon stationed at, it'll net you 2500 stardust and 50 gold coins. You can get these rewards every 20 hours at the store menu, the icon is a shield at the top right corner. Other than that, you can use the gym with the same color as your team as training ground to get more XP.
Thanks to this app i lost 3kgs so far! (80kg to 77kg) i feel more alive, stronger and way more healthy Mind over matter
Yeah finally kids have a reason to actually go outside! Minecraft was really reducing their vitamin D levels. LOL
Thanks! So if I am mystic? (Team blue) and I visit other gyms not blue I might be able to try to fight in the gym which will all me to try to rage over it? Changing it from the current team / color to my team? If I go to a gym with similar color mystic (blue) I can fight the trainers who control it as training without penalty? I also notice now That sometimes I get to have up to six pokemons fight... Maybe I had a glitch before as in the last I only had one. Other times if it same gym as mystic I only have one Pokemon to choose? Can you also explain to me the value of the store items revive and potion. If I'm training in my gym and lose I need to use revive or potion to regain strength. So this is true of any battle in my on color gym or other team gym?
While hatching eggs does the game need to be open and on screen? Can I have the app on in the background or lock my phone?
If you fight a gym in your color, winning will net you experience and increase the gym's reputation. Increase the reputation enough and it will level up and open up a new slot for another pokemon. You only get to use one pokemon, which won't faint, but can go down to 1 HP. If you fight a gym of an opposing color, winning will net you experience and decrease the gym's reputation. If you decrease the reputation to 0 it will turn white and you can take it over for your team. You get to use 6 pokemon to battle, and your pokemon can faint. Your pokemon must be at full HP to place it in a gym. One recommendation when taking over a gym is not to put your best pokemon in there, but a low-CP one and then you can have easy battles to level it up/gain experience. You can replace your pokemon there with a higher level one later. Unless you aren't able to visit many pokestops, you should be finding plenty of potions and revives. I'm almost to the point where I'm going to have to start throwing away revives as my bag is filling up... Needs to be open and active for your traveling to count. Use Low Power Mode to have the game shut off the screen to save power.
I wish they'd hurry up and release this in the UK. Even the papers are running stories on it and it's not even out here yet!
I've basically conned my kids into spending the rest of their summer break playing and exploring outside thanks to PoGo. When we hit a playground they break away from the game for an hour and I get to play. This morning I saw a new Pokemon nearby and took a walk by myself - dangerously close to exercise. Don't forget to wear sunscreen.
What's with TA becoming the Pokemon Go unofficial site? It's starting to feel like an SEO tactic. But it is leaning on the ridiculous.
It has become a worldwide phenomenon, it is a mobile game and this is a mobile gaming site. Why wouldn't they give it plenty of coverage?
TA is going hard on posting about it because it brings in a lot of traffic. I've seen the alerts in our chat – they often draw orders of magnitude more traffic than other articles. You have to look at it this way: the Pokemon GO articles, the Hearthstone stuff, anything popular, really? That's what pays the bills for the reviews, the coverage of cool-looking indie games that only a niche audience cares about, the Mobcrush streams, the Carter Craters...the popular stuff helps pay for that. Hey, it could be worse – at least we're a mobile games site posting frequently about a popular mobile game, unlike a site that wouldn't give mobile the time of day posting about the game because they cynically want traffic. And hell, even the Wall Street Journal is getting in on the craze. We're far from alone in posting about the game frequently.
I just read an article about the game on the Bloomberg website - it's yuuuuuuge! Apparently. I had to use an alt gmail account to play, since the trainer account thing wouldn't work. Was glad I didn't use my active gmail account once I heard about all the permissions this app has when logging in that way... Cannot believe all the people walking around glued to their phone screen these days, weird zombie-like steps... I'm sure it will die down very soon, but the groups of people I'm seeing is a bit unnerving. Not sure how the Pokestop things work, really - I was standing right smack on top of one and nothing, then I walk by one that was on the other side of the street and all sorts of items popped up on my screen from it. If you walk the same course every day, will you be limited to the same types of pokemon each day?
