For most games I've played, "on and running" doesn't mean you can't shut the screen or switch to a different app, with the game running in the background. Maybe I don't play enough "resource collecting" online-only games, but I would expect tracking, at the bare minimum, to allow you to switch apps. Edit: Also, just because it says that, doesn't mean I have to love it and can't wish it was more than what it is. Am I supposed to praise everything about it even the mediocre parts?
Gee, why would we take offense to such a jaded world view? Spoken like someone who is clearly not an adult, mentally if not chronologically.
My wife got on with her google account so I gave up and restarted using one of my google accounts and just walked around for 30 mins in 106 degrees and caught 12 Pokemon including pikachu who only took one toss, not sure why people had a hard time getting one. Still extremely irritated about not being able to use my trainer account which is connected to my TCG stuff.
The game actually worked for me tonight went out for about 2 hours getting Pokemon with my partner. Anybody know if the size and weight make any difference in battles? I've seen the XL and XS Pokemon. Sadly missed out on an abra and scyther but got Dratini and a few poliwag and payduck and lots of others. I still wonder if I'll keep it up playing as I get no Pokemon where I live which seems unfair as I've caught mewoth and all sorts of good ones outside other people houses?? Plus I may be too lazy to go out, but for now my fiancée is enjoying going out for walks and spending time together talking and playing together so it's not all bad.
This is like Pokemon meets nintendo's wii fit heh. I have a friend who's just starting to go for walks as exercise. With this game, he's now choosing a different part of town each day and walking a mile in a direction he hasn't gone yet. So that wristband thing auto captures anything that comes within its range? If so I may just snag one. Turn it on and leave it in my car. Leave the game running during my work commute heh and cap/cap/cap/cap
http://www.cartelpress.com/pokemon-go-major-highway-accident-man-stops-middle-highway-catch-pikachu/ I wonder if the game will be taken down because of this....
If I were Nintendo, I'd simply implement a feature where the Pokemon only appear if your going below a certain speed.
I agree that P:GO and driving dont mix, but when the article quotes 'one of the worst highway accidents' yet 'nobody was seriously hurt', I cant help but feel that the entire article is complete BS
I had the same idea about the game not functioning if you travel over a certain speed (like how the pedometer stops so you can't drive to hatch eggs) Passengers would complain sure, but think about all the real accidents it would probably prevent. I don't think it's a stretch to think something like this story could actually happen, but actually real/serious. I'd rather it not work at all than have people hurt others.
I -think- that determines rarity but I'm not 100% sure. I only have a couple of 5km eggs but haven't hatched them yet.
I live in Canada. If I switch app stores to download GO, will I lose progress when I switch back? Or am I better off to just wait for international release?
no you wont, your progress is ties to your google account (gmail) so you wont loae anything. Big problem for me so far is that theres close to nothing jn my neighborhood, everytime i have to go out though i need to go downtown so i can make some progress from there, but if i take a walk from home all i can get are a few pokemons,... lol
