By comparison, Real Soccer 2009 is 65 mb in size. Not that size always = substance, but 3.5 mb just does not seem adequate for a meaty 3D sports game. Let's see...

Ehhh... I bought it just because I love football. Tackling sucks. Passing is terrible... they run their routes and stand there. Runnings alright. Not a badly put together game, but the gameplay is boring as it could possibly be. Good time killer, but I should have waited for the price to go down.

I love football, but I'm not impressed with this. I'll wait until Madden comes to the iPhone, if ever

I've waiting and waiting for a football game, but this looks pretty shabby.

Either the players are like four times their normal size, or the field is tiny.

    I think it's Arena Football.

Looks like it could be okay once the players get a little smarter...like I saw one stuck running in place in the vid

    Not bad

This game isn't as bad as some say. Remember this is a phone not a PS3. for a quick game of football it's not bad. It also has a season mode. Could it be better ? Sure it could , every game could be better. I think brothers in arms and hero of Sparta have spoiled us but those are two needles in a hay stack of crap apps. This game isn't perfect but it is fun. With updates it has nowhere to go but up. Thanks to the developer for finally giving us a football game.

In point of fact, this is probably the best American football game on the iphone to date. Nonetheless, at 3 Mb in size there is a lot of room for improvement wrt to the AI, nuanced user gameplay and character detail/animations.

I do like the fact that it offers a Quick PLay mode, as well as a season, longer gameplay. This is a model that all iphone sports titles should have:

    1. Quick, pick up and play
    2. Season/career mode gameplay.

Hey abdjmb, I think you and I have alot of similar game preferences. I see your reviews on iTunes alot for the same games I review and I usually trust your opinions. Glad to see you on Toucharcade and welcome.

    @salsa
I am in agreement. I am often inclined to pass on small file-size "3D" games as usually I have found: graphics are decent, yet any ai and background programming usu. run amock.

I can't say that holds true for this title but I'll wait for a thorough review.

I'm okay if the graphics aren't the best, but the complaints about the AI are really keeping my from this one. The awkwardly enormous football players would bug the crap ot of me, though.:p

Thanks for the compliment rich. I try to write a review for the apps I have be it good or bad because we all have been burned by bad apps in the store. Take care.

The American football genre is so untapped on iphone I might shell out the 5 bucks for this. Hopefully a price drop or something will happen soon.

Man I feel really cheap haha...
