I started with the blade master after finishing the game with the battle mage, and while the dungeons don't feel different, fighting is. -- Also had an interesting bug happen where every ground slam I did increased my damage until the end of the level. I was doing over 1000 damage with my starter swords. Unfortunately I don't know what exactly caused it and I couldn't reproduce it yet. Possibly some damage totem and/or potion was involved.
I have been playing as BLade Master and completed. Having started over again as with him, I stopped for a while, having resumed, the game continually crashes at the same point, I cannot progress at all. Very disappointing snow I have no other option as to restart all over again.......oh and restarting and resetting do no good either. Any one have any ideas?
Thanks Squeaker! I've been searching for that room (it'll be fixed in the update). I'm keen to implement a skill tree with more degrees of skill customization. We'll put that in when we do a content update or maybe before that for the iPhone build. We want to add another area with some new monsters which would be even more difficult than the current areas so we will need some new skills to make the heroes stronger. I'm really sorry about this. There are two places in the lava dungeons that cause crashes that are fixed in the update (which I'm going to submit in the next couple days)... Sadly we didn't pick up on this during testing. If you restart that quest there is a good chance you won't have the problem.
By the way, and I don't want to seem needy, but for any of you that enjoy Pocket RPG you can vote for it at game of the week: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=100456 Any votes would be greatly appreciated!
Vote has been earned. Now, fix that crash bug with the lava room. My Mage didnt run into it but my ranger can't get past it.
Vote super earned. Not only the game gave me two days of fun .... but hopefully it will grow (even if IAP)!!!
Boulder map error Don't know if this is spoilerish, so I'll be vague. When the boulder killed me I could not complete the map. The last gate wouldn't break. I had to die, end, restart fresh to get it to work. Love the game!
Strangely enough - I started with the Blade Master, but found the game very difficult. I found that even buffed up with mastered weapons and quite a number of special abilities, my close combat skills could not get me out of certain situations. Basically when surrounded by a huge horde of enemies, particularly when a number of them are jumbo sized, I sometimes just don't make it. I finally decided to switch to Battle Mage and start over - and for some reason, I am now plowing through enemy without fear of watching the health gauge depleted to hairline of red. I can now keep moving away from bigger monsters while blasting spells, as opposed to going up directly for suicide slashing. I just hope this mage holds up in the later levels. I can see if you're not careful your mage can get pummeled easily, but for some reason, I feel more confident with this character. This may well be my favorite iPad game to date - can't wait until the developers add some fixins!
Sat down over the weekend and spent about 6 hours into this, I think it is simplistic fun for the price but not very much a keeper. After I finish with the battle mage, I find little interest in fighting the same monsters all over again with slightly different style of fighting, e.g. blade master. It is not too hard, especially once you learn the greatness of area effect weapon and level-up. Also, always check the crates/boxes/barrels before heading toward the boss.
Enjoying the game when it works. Just had the second area boss (the Yeti) bug out on me where he inhaled me onto a rock I couldn't escape from. Restarted, game crashed 5 minutes into my second run of the area. Turned it off. There's a lot of fun to be had there, but it seems like a reasonably shallow/buggy experience for something that's currently on sale for $3. Hopefully you guys continue to improve the experience.
looks like a new bug fix update is being submitted tomorrow, from what I've heard through the grapevine....
I have a question for those of you fortunate enough to be playing the game already. As I understand, your character only lasts for the play through and then resets afterwards. Is there anything that is carried over from game to game (exp/gear/levels/etc)? Thanks.
You'd find that the blade master always uses AoE attacks (a cone in front of him), that he can level up faster, and that he can get a temporary kick out of a levelup. He's still harder to play though (doesn't actually feel hard but I'm not getting any high scores, so it must be taking me longer).
Sorry for poor English, the repetitive play stops me from playing this further with the Blade Master, as I have other things to attend to. Unlike other hack-n-slash games, I Blade Master actually has some minor area hit effect.
Your gold and "star" carry on between "worlds". Gold is used to buy mastery where as star is used to buy new items and improve status. Sorry I have deleted the app to confirm.
phew, loved it. but... a few questions after every dungeon, you are treated to skill level. and items my questions - can you see the +% or anything for "mastering" a skill? - when you buy those "items" in the shop on the map. what does that mean? i buy crystal, ring, and amulet of seeking. crystal and amulet of vampire. magic scroll. etc. etc. etc. and theyre not on character. nor they are on game. so... what's the point? like, i bought those ring + amulet of vampire. yet none of my attacks drain health i bought all those seeking crystal, ring, amulet. yet my fireball still doesnt "seek" enemy. and i didnt find any item that gives any of those status in the whole mission. so whats the point of buying them?
