See i havent got as far as you but thats what i thought from playing the first few levels, yeah it has IAP's but you dont have to get them or forced to buy them to continue playing to the later levels. A lot of games which are premium priced have IAPs but often theyre like a 'cheat' for people who want to progress quickly. E.g Harmless. Played more this morning, really like it. Still surprised though when dev's don't do public betas so people can help out with the english etc.
I really love this game but hate that it is not really fully premium I would not have bought it if I knew and I think the developer should disclose the IAP in the app description. It adds an ugly f2p mechanic to what would be an otherwise perfect game. I really hate that the jewel items are consumable they should be things that you only have to purchase once and can then use forever.
Well I'm not fully sure about that. I now tried the items, with a wizard hat. You basically buy 6 of them for like 24. If you don't suck big time you can make 50 gems per run, so 6 runs net you 300, so 24 gems is nothing. And it is not like you need most of those items because you pick them up. It is just a boost to the beginning of the run. I have now made a run with a warrior, the first, a run with the archer, which was the best and longest, and about 5 runs with the necro, dying on 3 of them almost immediately (tried the bosses lol) and the pther two were pretty short because i walked in boldly, too boldly. I am liking the techtrees a lot too.
But you can still boost the character in a game with a scoreboard. Its a crap practice. The downside of runs past the first, you can have level 20s special mobs that appear out of no where. Including the very first room you go into. Game is great, the montenization could have been handled a bit better. But the mechanics are solid.
Lvl 20 mobs? Rly? Haven't had the displeasure lol but that is nasty. Anyway, you can only select 1 skill of each field, which block mobs of zombies for the necromancer this is bad because i only now realised that after leveling normal zombie and archer to 3
I think there was an error somewhere along the way of putting this on the App Store. The "this app contains in-app purchases" thing on a game's App Store page should happen automatically if a game has IAP. This game seems to have IAP, but I can't actually buy any (has anyone been able to?) so it leads me to believe that something happened during submission and the dev didn't check a certain box or something. So I don't think it's a case of the dev trying to purposely mislead anyone, and if it is it's a pretty poor attempt as you can't actually buy IAP anyway. More likely it's just an error and honestly something that should have been caught in Apple's approval process, but you know how that goes.
I can attest: yes, IAP's are availbe for the impatient, but, after hours of play, i have not seen a paywall and believe anyone who is remotely experienced with action-rpgs will not need them. That being said, the game is entertaining, especially those who appreciate the charm of lo-fi, roguelite, burgeon crawling.
Can someone tell me if this game is playable without data/service? I only have WiFi about 20% of the time where I work and live so a game like this that requires it is unfortunately a no go for me
It is not as hard. Slightly different games though. I have died in he first room I go into on this numerous times. Because I am under statted compared to the monsters there.
not as hard but you die in the first room? meaning, if you manage to survive the first room it gets easier?
Personally didnt like Wayward Souls - I dont know why but the controls never clicked for me. This is a MUCH more basic game, but personally I prefer it - nice controls, simple but effective gameplay. Horrible translation errors, but Im chalking it up to being part of the charm #
