Oddly the game wasn't really tailored for this level of crewmanship (not sure it's a real word lol). The interaction between players and crews is really basic. That we managed to turn this into a championship spanning almost a year is kinda incredible. Too bad though NimbleBit never tried to enhance the crew experience for Pocket Planes They altered a bit the club/crew management in their subsequent games, but I'm not sure they found a really satisfactory way to do it. :/ I guess players really enjoying this kind of crew gameplay rather play Clash of Clans (never tried, don't want to!) or League of legends or other MMOs on PC.
I really hope NimbleBit update this game, as good as it is. I'd like something new. maybe a new plane perhaps ?! I play this game on my tablet so you can imagine the endless scrolling.
I think the issue is hardware and the developer maintaining a fast server. The reason I accidentally found Pocket Planes is because I was (and still am) waiting for Air Hauler 2 and FSPassenger for FSX Steam to be released. In the Flight Simulator world, there is direct interaction between flight crews which maintains the experience over the long haul. With FSX we can even talk to each other while flying over the server. Pocket Planes was a way for me to kill time while waiting for the new software and then it became even more addicting when I found this thread and started playing the Global Events on TA1. That said, for me as a latecomer newbie, reading what all of you created back in 2012 was simply amazing and a testament to the level of crewmanship you all managed to create by combining the game and this forum. Seriously......I would have bought the book of the first year of this thread Bobby
It certainly would be more rewarding to get airplane parts since I can make the 35 bux on one flight. I really like the events with the mystery parts. For me, the incentive is seeing friends on the leaderboard Bobby
I have to agree here, an experienced player can easily net 35 bux in an hour. The events which offer parts are great but their to far in between and while I exhausted myself in the last event to only get No 5 in the crew, It's yet another bux event so the incentive is lost, I'm more than happy to contribute after pushing yourself so much, theirs even a time where you think "Why Bother"
How do ANY of you get those crazy high scores??? I just look at those numbers and shake my head - I will never even begin to be in that league!
Yes you will. We all started out the same. It's just putting in the time and working on a good strategy. What makes it easier for us latecomers is reading the experiences of those that started this game back in 2012. Read Faye Valentines signature. She posted a lot of great information to help us get to where they already are.
Okay well I played a long time ago, deleted and just restarted. I plan to see it through to the end this time. Haha I had no idea there was still an active community. Very cool. Game Center name is iMikos.
Whenever I'm at home I'll play it (I play on my tablet as its easier) and all 20 are on this event. Ive even opened up smaller airports so the smaller planes are kept busy there while the bigger planes are doing their thing. If the app is open, all planes are in the sky.
I'm on TA1. Just sent you a friend request over GC. I'll send you a couple planes to get you going again. Bobby GC: BJLemurcat
