Since the developer of Pocket Planes support both Google Play and Game Center, it is best practice to sync across both. While the 2 do not talk to each other from the end user perspective, I don't think you'd lose your status. That's just what I think from a cloud perspective. If you ever consider getting an iOS device, shoot a support ticket to the developer and ask them. https://developers.google.com/games/services/ios/gameCenter Bobby
I have an iOS device although its a 2nd gen iPod Touch and the software version Pocket Planes runs on doesn't run on the iPod which is quite the shame although I am thinking of an iPad Mini. Being fairly competitive I like to set myself a challenge which is always being #1 in the flight crew which if anything helps the flight crew although being a uni student kind of limits how often I should play the game.
Hi Bobby, I am using the eagle to collect jobs from us NY/LA/ PX and shuttling them through to Madrid to be picked up and sent to St Petersburg. I also opened Istanbul as a part of my slow expansion. I think because I am still running airvans and kangaroos the smaller airports I have open are not yielding the job numbers I need to be competitive. I've been busier than normal at work, Sk not able to sneak off for 2 mins like j had done! So far still levelling to get aeroeagles to buy. But slow of me I know! I am collecting bux as much as possible to allow me to buy them as soon as I level. This way I am hoping to operate a U.S. And European hub, with the Kangaroos and airvans hopping around. My theory is to deliver the jobs furthest to gain the most xp and coins for slots. Is this correct?
In theory that sounds good although it's also best when you have a far enough reach to only start opening only class 3 airports. Aeroeagles will serve you well and the two cities which are most distant from each other often yield the most rewarding jobs although you do need the appropriate the craft for the job.
Ok, I see. You're running class 1 and 2 airplanes through class 3 airports. I sent you a couple of high capacity class 3 Cyclone M's to get those job numbers you're looking for. Also sent a few Aeroeagles to help you along. Have fun. Bobby BJLemurcat
I wonder if you're able to add us on Game Center on your iPod. Even though you are on Google Play, Pocket Planes support both platform so it might sync your stats to Game Center on your iPod even though your iPod doesn't support Pocket Planes. We couldn't swap parts but it might allow us to see you on the leaderboard. I might be suffering oxygen deprivation from all this flying but it might work Bobby GC: BJLemurcat
Making a Cloudliner pay its way I'm trying to run a Cloudliner-C from LA to Tokyo but can't seem to make a profit. I've got a fully-loaded plane, maxed out on weight, making stops in NY, London, Karachi, Mumbai, Bangkok and Seoul. However it still shows a negative profit by the time it reaches Tokyo. Are there any tips for making a decent profit from Cloudliners? I want to add a passenger version to my airline but not if It's not going to make any money. Your advice would be very welcome.
Might be the number of stops you're making. I just ran a Cloudliner-M from LA to TYO with only 2 stops in NYC and Istanbul. I ran a 25% bonus run and 2 of the jobs were bux jobs. My profit was 14,410 coins. You might want to feed jobs into cities enroute so that you're hauling higher value jobs over longer distances. In my case, I only have 1 Cloudliner I use when the Global event happens to be on either end of the world. When it comes to profit and class 3 airports, the Sequoia makes more profit than the Cloudliner and Cyclone. The downside, of course, is that it is the slowest of the three. Bobby
Thanks again for your expert assistance, Bobby. I'll try and reduce the number of stops but, of course, it'll take longer to fill the plane at its start point. However, I do want to get the kind of profits you're making. Yes, I know about the Sequoia and have a few in my fleet as workhorses. I just wanted a bit of variety.
I have no idea where that iPod is to be honest ! I'm considering purchasing an iOS device so that may be a reality soon enough ! I have to say, #TA1 is more competitive than #TA, that's for sure !
Yep, that's the fun part of flying for TA1, players are very competitive. But it's nowhere as high as before , it was sometimes literally insane You should dig in the forum old leaderboards from a year or two ago. We had some class 3 events where top 3 were finishing above 10k jobs or more lol. I think the highest job count reported by a single player is in the 25k+
I remember that. I didn't even bother to compete in those crazy class 3 events usually! I do better at the class 1 events anyway. My personal record was 11k in a class 1 event. Never again lol
WoW !! I can barely manage a 10th of that ! I think this competition is healthy as the overall flight crew benefits. I held the lead early although I'm going to try to manage a top 3 or at the very least, a top 5 before the event finishes.
It took me several weeks but I've read most of this thread and you guys had a great time back then. I wish I had been a part of it. I do enjoy watching the leaderboard now and trying to keep up Bobby
Yep, good times! I might do that at some point, like an old guy watching back his old black&white prints from back in the day in his rocking chair :/ Overall it has been a surprisingly fun experience for a small iPhone game club full of very different people from around the world who didn't know each other and just communicated through this forum
