That is true.....however, go back to page 1889 in this thread and look at vicsark's explanation to me. I had been going with 25% bonus runs and I had to launch my planes with part bux and part regular jobs otherwise I ran out of planes to accumulate pure bux flights. Vicsark made me understand that, at a certain point, coins become irrelevant and that the bux conversion rate is more important. In my case, coins got me to 38 airplane slots but coins wasn't going to get me much further because of the increasing price for 1 slot. So, in my case, by reducing the airports concentrated the bux jobs with enough planes to "sit" and still run events. Doing this works for me. I run Sequoias on the class 3 airports and Mapples for the events. I've managed to get to 40 slots and should get to level 61 tonight. I ignore the coins and the cost to run pure bux runs. I quit watching the coin and bux counter and just grind out the events while bux sitting on the side till I get enough bux so that the conversion rate could get me 4 or 5 slots at one time if I choose. Vicsark's suggestion made me reconfigure my entire fleet and re-think how I play this game but, at least for me, it became more challenging and more rewarding. Bobby
I think it's probably down to the fact that were at 2 different parts of the game. 38 slots is fantastically impressive as I know the effort it's taken me and I've only got 20 which brings me onto the fact that for me anyway, coins do matter, I don't care when I get a negative flight because of a bux job but when my cloudliners are making ridiculous amount of money, I see reasons for them to be flying although I haven't put them into proper schedules as 1 of them is still moving bux around. Going to airports, I don't mind reducing the number if it increases the overall job pool but I suppose I could just upgrade an airport but I like the number I have.
Even if you fly all bux with 25% bonus that bonus is in coins so you make a bit. I personally don't have the patience for bux sittings much anymore. So my style is pick up all jobs going east from rio/sp to Cairo/Istanbul and vice versa from Seoul/Shanghai. I've made something like 1.5m coins in the last week or so doing this and however many bux along the way. I'm still in the process of cleaning up all my layovers and airports. Do you see the same number of jobs waiting in the airports even if they only have five destinations instead of 18? Or are they appropriately reduced? I think reducing airport count might make global jobs a hit easier to participate in. Though my strange problem is having only 26 plane slots.
That's the pickle I have with bux sitting ! I just board a job and then leave, all the while it's slowly adding jobs and I drop them along the way or if the plane gets full, I just lay it off to an airport and let the 1 seaters drop them off to their respective places. When it comes to coins, I reckon I still have yet to make the big bucks as I get over 40 000 per cloundliner flight and I currently only use 1 of the 2 for coins while the other ferries bux although their both currently allocated for coin duty. I find it to be the opposite, I have all 10 mil airports and a few other class 3 as well and the job pool is fairly good, when it comes to events, its probably better as it opens up more places for the larger class class 3 planes to go to get to jobs and thats what allowed me to win the Tinksi event. I'm still trying to get above 20 slots, while I can get slot 21, I want to leave myself enough coins just in case.
The people who have been doing this much longer than both of us will need to give you better information than me but I do want to share this experience with you. When I got to level 28 and Cloudliners were unlocked, I converted my whole fleet to Cloudliners thinking "more seats=more money". The problem was it didn't occur to me to think in terms of profit till Faye Valentine told me she has most of her Cloudliners in her hanger and flies Cyclones. So, since I have more time than money, I looked at what planes were the most profitable regardless of their speed and came up with the Sequoia. It was then that I was able to make enough coins quickly enough to get to the mid 30's in slots till I hit the wall and vicsark told me to go for bux rather than coins. That got me to 40 slots and now it's just a case of grinding out flights for income and working the events for the thrill of making #2 with the TA1 team. I see where some players run specialty airplanes for their fleet and I think that occurs when you hit your goal on airports and slots, then you don't care about the money. Bobby
Oh please don't get me wrong, I have no intention of making an entire fleet of cloudliners, as of my 20 planes, only 2 are cloudliners. I only mention them for the sake of coins as I still need some form of revenue coming in as I haven't advanced as far into the game as some of the more experienced players. All planes bar the cloudliners are on bux duty. It may take ages to fill it up (I can personally attest to that) but after a trip, it's s good add on to your revenue ! Plus the bux just keep on rolling in.
Hey Gus.......thanks for adding me in Game Center. Good to see you on my leaderboard Bobby BJLemurcat
What does upgrading an airport actually do in regards to jobs (I know it increases the layover limit) ?! Does it increase the amount of jobs displayed from that airport (e.g. If an non upgraded airport shows just 15 jobs will an upgraded show more than 20+ ?!) Does it increase the rate at which jobs refresh ?!
It increases the number of layover available AND the total number of jobs available per refresh. Refresh rate remains at 5 minutes always.
Hi everyone Hi everybody! Just got back in to this game after a long time not playing, icloud lost data, and I am absolutely hooked. So hooked in fact that I have even registered just to post in this forum. Lovely to see such nice friendly advice and help. Currently I am levelling up, at lvl 14 at the moment, with somewhere near 140,000 coins and 138 bux, saving theses for some aero eagles on the advice I have seen here. At the moment I am running LA, NY, Paris, with Berlin and Madrid, Phoenix, and Atlanta, with the class one cities allowing me to bunny hop 4 kangaroos, 3 air vans, and one mapple to try and reel in some cash. Will be easier I think once I get some aero-Eagles. I have joined the ta1 team, but until there is an event nearby, or I at least have some Eagles, I'm just watching from the sidelines. Could I ask that those of you who are active please repost your gamecenter accounts? Would be nice to see some names, and it would save me trawling back through many many pages! My gamecenter is Weebles711, please feel free to add me, and then hopefully once I have some interesting parts I can help out fellow gamers. Cheers everyone Aaryn Sorry for the long post
That's really kind! Thank-you! See you there, I like the sound of your play mechanic, I think I'll be following with something similar. Much appreciated!
Can Android and iOS players interact with each other ?! (I.e. Sending players parts and seeing each other on the leader boards)
I would have thought NimbleBit may be doing some magic on their side .... I thought to myself in order to make my airline grow, I'll only participate in Global Events in which a part is give out however my game showed an event in Chicago but it was only a bux prize, I thought I'll give it a go as I wanted to #1 again but I noticed Chicago isn't hosting an event ?! None of the jobs are blue and despite Flight Crew page stating it is in Chicago, the event's page doesn't even mention an event going on (I'm referring to the overall flight crew global event) Is anyone else having this problem ?!
Nope, just bought Chicago, although I may have messed up my airport configure somewhat when I got the aeroeagle, so I'm probably going to sit this one out and correct my silly mistake and grind up some more. Over-expansion. Tempting, but not always worth it!
Yes! I have the same problem! Was hoping it would resolve by today, but it hasn't. My Chicago jobs are showing up in white, no blue, and the chicago event isn't showing up on my event list. But, I see it in my flight crew status.Weird... Do any of the more experienced members have any ideas? Thanks in advance!
