Yup, I'm with you on that. I listen to Boston John in the background and just grind the jobs out 4 at a time http://youtu.be/LBrtN9bfb7A
So I just hit level 17 in the game, wondering what planes are the best value for around my level? Right now I have 12 planes and 6 airports, all in Asia. Tokyo, Beijing, Xian, Shanghai, Seoul and Shenyang. I make some decent money with these airports but never know what are the right plane(s) to buy. THanks
Route dilemma - Africa or Asia? I've started a new game in Europe and am now beginning to buy Class 2 planes and airports. My problem - do I go east (Asia) or south (Africa)? I've played Asia before but there doesn't seem to be a lot to do in Africa. Could anyone with experience in either or both regions suggest some good routes to get me started? Many thanks.
Your best bets in that part of the game are Aeroeagles. Keep purchasing more Class 3 airpots, try expanding to Bangkok or Manila and then into more of Asia. The game will pickup, the next good plane is at Level 22 which is Sequoia. Personal advice I'm merely relaying. I personally found once I got into events, my game really picked up. The logistical challenge of it I started to really understand. Do well my friend.
Their's more class 3 airports if you east which may prove to be beneficial to you. My personal experience with Africa is Lagos and Cairo and their only to be join me up to the Americas.
Hi Rick, You're going to make your money on long straight line routes. When I started in London and Paris, my goal was to get to Tokyo. So I slowly built a string of Class 3 airports and ran long haul flights for the 25% bonus and the straight line for profitability. Now I use the Sequoia running all the class 3 airports. If I remember right, before I hit the level for Sequoias, I ran the Areoeagle. Once I got that set up, I needed a way to get to Hawaii and South America so I could make money on long flights. I opened up Lagos and Kinshasa as a way to do that. A fully upgraded Sequoia will just make it non-stop from Lagos to Mexico City and the Aeroeagle will make it from Mexico City to Hawaii. I could make the big 25% bonus money running from Asia, through Lagos, to Mexico, then on to Hawaii. I added Kinshasa later because that was a way to get from Jakarta to New York with only one layover. The Sequoia won't make it non-stop from Jakarta to Lagos. This is how I worked it. Today I have all the class 3 airports with Sequoias running them. A single Aeroeagle to jump the pond to Honolulu. I buy and sell class 1 and 2 airports just to work the events and use the Aeroeagle for class 2 events and the Mapple for class 1 events. Bobby BJLemurcat
Hi everyone! I have a problem that perhaps one of you has come across and can help me out: my original I-pad is dying so last weekend when I upgraded my phone (6-s), I also went ahead and purchased an new I-pad air. Problem is pocket planes is not syncing right.. I have tried all of the "fixes" on most boards I can find related topics on, but none seem to work. Oddly enough, it synced an older version to my phone, looks like about a month behind, which I could have lived with. But on the I-pad it won't sync at all and I really don't want to start over. Even on that version it shows my jobs and placement in the current event correctly (a bit odd I thought..). Anyway, that's why you have not seen me on the leader board for this event! Any suggestions? Thanks, -Jeff
I'm slowing down. Gonna just let the rest of my blimps finish their trips. I don't think I can catch harmonia and Vic.
Jeff, I have never been able to get Pocket Planes to sync. It's on my iPad but I can't get it to sync on my iPhone. So on events like this one where I happen to be out of the house a lot, I'm not doing well. Sorry.....I don't know the fix either. The only one I didn't try was uninstalling Game Center because my biggest fear is GC losing my data and having to start over. Bobby
Tiksi standings TA1 9 Roboboto 10 Clint981 I'm done for this one So I'm also back to 60k Bux, nearing my next (last) big Bux exchange. It should only get me 5 new plane slots from 63 to 68. Diminishing returns anyone? I reorganized my planes to put them in order when going left or right on the plane screen. So now, with 20 permanent class 3 airports : - 20 Bux sitters (Cyclones M) - 20 Cyclones M - 10 P/C planes for job events in the nearest class 3 airports (4 cloud liners P/ 4 cloud C and 1 Cyclone P/ 1 C) -13 (soon 18) planes depending on the event, usually Mapples, aero eagles All planes fully speed and range upgraded. Airports are : LA / Mexico Chicago / NY Lima Buenos Aires RIO / São Paulo Kinshasa Paris / London Istanbul / Cairo Moscow Xian / Beijing Shanghai / Seoul Tokyo Jakarta
I see you and Faye run Cyclones where I run Sequoia's. That probably explains why I can never catch up with either of you. I don't look at it as a competition but rather a team effort for TA1 so I'll just stay with the Sequoias. I'm at 39 slots and have been debating the diminishing returns question myself. Faye tells me she has, I forgot the exact number, somewhere in the high 70's slots but often uses only half of them for a lot of events. In my case, by time I cycle through 39 slots, new jobs come up so my thinking is I might save bux for an even 40 slots and settle for that. For me, right now, being anywhere in the top ten means I'm helping the team so I'm just having fun at the moment with events. Thanks for posting the leaderboard. I have a couple holes in mine so sent GC requests based on your leaderboard. Bobby BJLemurcat
Good stats ! Is TA1 more "competitive" that TA ?! I say that because I crafted myself out a good lead and I still have it on TA so much so I reckon I don't need to do anything more to win whereas TA1, their is seemingly a lot more people on it.
I don't think TA1 is more competitive than TA. From what I have learned from reading back several years in time is that TA was the original team. Just by the sheer numbers of participants, TA always came in first and the only thing one had to do to get the prize is do the minimum amount of work. So it appears the developer restructured the prize by making first prize the same as the top 10 prize. The reason I am in TA1 is I "know" most of the people who show up on my leaderboard no matter how many jobs I have completed. So, for me, this is not a competition but rather a team effort to shoot for second place on the Global leaderboard. For me, this alone makes the events enjoyable......being part of the team. That explains it ! I've been bed ridden since this event started due to a illness and I've been at and I was somewhat surprised I've been in the lead for so long despite my first event, I was struggling to climb the ranks (I know it isn't necessary but for personal satisfaction, climbing ranks is quite something) I also think their is a slight flaw in how prizes are given out, I think the prizes should be relative to the amount of effort you put into your crew.
Hello If you started in Europe, you could buy Asia, but it would create a "triangle" route that is inefficient. I would do South America, and send planes Buenos Aires- London via Recife (or Rio De Janiero, but only Pearjet, Aeroeagle can make it), Lagos, London (you must do a 5% upgrade on the Birchcraft to make it). Then, go for Asia, buy Delhi, Cairo, so you can send planes Lagos-Delhi-Cairo. Then go for Shanghai or Beijing (Beijing will be more useful for later N. American operations), then Seoul or Tokyo or both. Another thing to do is to upgrade all Aeroeagles/Pearjets 15% and fly New York-London, use you Kangaroos as feeders for them in Miami, Mexico City, Los Angeles.
