Are special planes like C-130, Concorde, Starship only obtainable through flight crew?

    Hi :)

I can't really confirm this, since I didn't start in Australia (started in easy-peezy Asia), but try to get airports in a straight line going from Melbourne (I think you start out with it) to Jakarta. Then, every time you purchase a new airport in Asia (etc Manila, Guangzhou), close one of your Australian operations (etc Broken Hill) until you shift to Tokyo. By that time you should have Pearjets/Aeroeagles... so close down ALL your Non-Class 3 operations EXCEPT for Melbourne and fly for massive profits.

Once you get to Level 16/18 start going international (if you want to) By purchasing in straight order. This is what I did:

    Tokyo-Shanghai-Delhi-Cairo-Lagos (Or Kinshasa)-Rio De Janeiro-Lima

(I would recommend a south america-asia to north america-asia operation so you don't waste your bux upgrading your planes).

Keep flying in that line until Level 22/24, optionally you can create a north american line.

    Tokyo-Shanghai-Tehran (Or Istanbul)-Paris (or London)-New York-Los Angeles

You could keep Melbourne and fly Aeroeagles to and fro Melbourne for more profits.

    Whoops... Big post!

I'm looking at the Australia map now.

Seems like Melbourne-Alice Springs-Broome-Jakarta should work fine:

    Melbourne-Alice Springs: 529 miles
    Alice Springs-Broome: 432 miles
    Broome-Jakarta: 578 miles

Anything except for the Bearclaw can make it!:p

Here is the optional second route:

    Melbourne-Newman-Jakarta

    Melbourne-Newman: 815 miles- Wallaby/Navigator can't make it :(
    Newman-Jakarta: 720 miles- Wallaby needs 2 upgrades on range/Navigator can't make it :(

This one requires longer distance! I understand that Bobby has sent you UAV/Mapple? The Mapple will be able to fly to Jakarta via Newman while the UAV will be able to fly direct Melbourne-Jakarta :)

Any Class 2 will be able to make Melbourne-Jakarta (1515 miles) :)

What planes are you running right now? Kangaroos? Mohawks? Or still on old reliable Wallabys? I might be able to help more with this info

Thanks for the routes, Chromatinfish, very helpful.

I'm currently running 3 Wallaby-Ps, a Navigator-C, a Griffon-C, a Supergopher-C and the Mapple Bobby kindly sent through. The Supergopher and Griffon have the range to reach the two New Zealand airports I have.

I'll definitely check out those airports you mentioned but I'm trying to avoid 0.0M ones if poss. The furthest north I can reach right now is Port Moresby.

Any further advice would be gratefully received.

BTW, is it possible to use the UAV this early in a game (I'm on level 7)?

It doesn't really matter if you use 0.0M or 10.0M as bypassers (just never stop there). If you use Alice Springs as a bypassing point, you won't ever stop there (just fly to and fro and ONLY Jakarta and Melbourne). Also, keep Wellington/Aukland/Christchurch (or whatever your New Zealand ports are)... you can fly Jakarta-Wellington for massive profits.

For the UAV question, If you have Jakarta and Melbourne, you can fly direct. Otherwise, not very much due to the high Class (2). Obviously flying Melbourne-Sydney is not going to be very profitable!

Also, can you level your P/C? Right now you have 8 P/6 C slots in the air.

Try to purchase Kangaroos/Mohawks (when you reach level 8)/Mapples (when you reach level 9) as quick as possible and replace your tiny little 1-Seaters! The Supergopher is not very good.

    Hi all

I don't know if I am allowed to post but I will and then I will find out if I am, I have the android variant plus a friend of mine who's an ethical hacker went into my game and changed a few values, while it hasn't increased my coins or bux it has allowed me to get them more quickly than the average joe.

Anyway, I'd like to say I don't know how people have 30+ planes as I'm struggling with my 20 planes and thats with my increased income !

Great tips, Chromatinfish, thanks. I'll definitely level out my fleet. Is P and C better than having some M planes as well?

The Supergopher is kept around for range atm, but is heading for the scrapyard as soon as I get a few more decent planes.

    Thanks again.

Wow, I just received a starship from Roboroboto.

Its phenomenally slick looking, not to mention the killer range. Thanks :)

Good question. I run Sequoia M's on my class 3 runs because it can carry 5 and 5. I run Aeroeagle M's on my class 2 runs for the 3 and 3. Finally, the Mapple works for me because it's 2 and 2 for class 1 runs.

Running M planes means you generally won't be waiting around when you're at an airport with a cargo only airplane with a bunch of people waiting for a ride.

That said, depending on how you feed an event, sometimes you have an excess of people or an excess of cargo, so you're M planes are either waiting or going out half full.

What I do in events is run mostly M airplanes but have a couple cargo and passenger only planes in the mix to pick up the excesses.

That's just how I work it, your mileage may vary :)

    Rick,

A straight line route is definitely the way to go. If you can, use mapples and make a straight line route of as many class 2 and 3 airports as you can. Try googling pocket planes calculator and checkout therustysnowman. He put together a neat distance/ route calculator a long time ago. While it hasnt been updated to include the Mapple or any of the newer planes, it should help you with distances.

I recently started over (not willingly, thanks nimblebit), but my strategy has always been to "bux sit" a straight line route from Lima to Tokyo using Sequoia Ms. I am currently rebuilding my Aeroeagle M fleet and will start sitting that route using them asap until I get back into Sequoias. Of course, I won't be bux sitting until I get back in Sequoias, which means delivering lots and lots of long haul jobs to level up.

How do you run that route? Do you send all your bux to Lima or Tokyo?
The reason I ask is I run everything into Mexico City through Lagos when I bux sit. I was doing ok till I got to 39 slots and I can't seem to make enough to get additional slots since they get increasingly expensive.

Of course it doesn't help I'm chasing these 45 bux events but your Lima/Tokyo run seems interesting.

I'll shoot you over an Aeroeagle M as soon as one shows up in the store.

Using 6 Sequoias, I ferry bux back and forth along the route Lima/Lagos/Delhi/Tokyo. It is easy to build up tens of thousands of bux after a while. Save bux, cash em in, voila, plane slots. Also, it helps to ONLY have those airports open, unless you are running an event. The only events I bothered with were full plane events though.

You can run different routes, just the straighter the better. Oh, and by bux sit, I mean the planes dont move until either C or P is full of bux only pax or items going one way or the other. Say if Delhi is full to go to Lagos and Lima, then the plane in Lagos goes to Delhi and the Delhi goes to Lagos and lays over bux headed to Lima. So, I would have 6 planes, 2 named Lima-Lagos, 2 named Lagos-Delhi, and 2 named Delhi-Tokyo. 1 of the two are in each city they are named for and just swap when full.

And thanks for the Aeroeagle, slowly working my way back up. Already back to level 16 and can finally buy Aeroeagles, YAY! And its awesome that they finally put Mapples in the store for everyone....... I hated having to trade for them!
