I've never played a Nimblebit game. Is this the one with the most activity still for a new person? I hear Tiny Tower is essentially dead now.
Global events differ from standard Events in that there is a leaderboard that shows the ranking of teams, as well as the ranking of individuals within teams. Many (most?) people active on this forum are members of Toucharcade1. The friendly competition helps to make it more interesting. You can watch the rankings on the leaderboard in Menu > Flight Crew. In addition, you get a reward if you deliver at least 50 shipments to the global event city while the event is active, higher rewards depending on how well your team ranks. Rewards vary, sometimes just bux, sometimes bux plus a plane part and sometimes an entire plane. If the reward is an entire plane, you can also collect special golden cargo, that gives you additonal plane parts (same plane as the prize model) for every one you deliver. Full plane events are rare but very popular, mostly becuase it never gets old to find the golden cargo. Global events last 3-1/2 days. Reason for the recent chatter is that after the last global event ended on Wednesday, the new one did not launch. This is most likely a bug, will probably be fixed soon.
#toucharcade is a huge crew, pretty much always the number 1 team #toucharcade1 is a much smaller team, very active on this forum. Members add each other in Game Center so you can see the names on the leaderboard. There used to be crazy competition and insanely high scores, many members have stopped or reduced their play some time ago. If you want to be on the number 1 team, go with #toucharcade. If you are looking for names on the leaderboard, go with #toucharcade1.

New record in Pocket Planes history ... Longest time the Global Event has been down. Am enjoying this down time to clean up my layovers but also missing the Global Event since I'm lazy and find it easier to scroll down the list looking for blue jobs. Really happy about IOS players being able to buy Mapple parts now. I just need to get back into the habit of checking the Market. Thank you to whoever sent me the C-130. Sorry, the popup blipped by and I didn't catch the name. My old laptop died (spilled tea) and I'm mostly moved into a new laptop. I'm still having the same problem where I can't access the PMs on this forum. Any ideas?
Haven't been playing but I'm working towards cashing out 50K BUX so I can get to 50 plane slots and roll out this blimp fleet!
Faye, Forgive me if you already checked this. Settings&Options/Edit Options/Messaging&Notifications/Private Messaging/ check all the appropriate boxes checked. Also, if it's a new laptop, see if pop-ups are allowed for the toucharcade site. That's all I can think of. Bobby
