Multiple blimps Im a fairly new to the crew, but play fairly regularly of late. How do you determine what contest will have mystery parts and is there a way to find them other than just coming across them as you load passengers? I use a first generation IPAD so I also assume that I will never see a maple? If I understand right, they are not available for the older IOS systems correct?
So far, if the prize for the current global event is a full plane, then there will be mystery parts appearing for that event. I'm sure that mystery parts have never been available from outside that scenario. I think we actually did have one once, and please someone correct me if I'm wrong, that was odd...a "people only" (no cargo) event for a full plane, but there were still mystery parts if I remember correctly! Here's my Mp strategy, and it is currently my favorite part of this game...have mixed or cargo planes "sitting" at each class 3 airport at all times. If you send one to the destination with a mystery part, immediately bux boost and replace it with a fresh "sitter". Always check the airport available cargo list if you have time! I find that if you rely on the "airport view" with the planes sitting on the Tarmac and just skim through them, you will miss 60-70% of them because only 30-40% of the time do mystery parts actually show up in that view. I assume the number of airports you have open will slightly alter that percentage of time they actually show up in the airport view windows. Now if I start the game up after a break and there is only a little time left before the job refresh, then I always do the opposite! You would hate to miss a mystery part right out in plain view with a quick scroll through your airports because you wasted the last minute scrolling through cargo lists in Timbuktu. If you follow this strategy, you will rarely if ever miss an available mystery part for delivery! Some interesting things I have noticed: some airports go cold and you will never get one damn part for the whole event! also, some airports get hot- this is why it is super important that you have extra sitters at all times to boost! It is routine for me to get parts at a hot airport three or four refreshes in a row! I'm sure that accounts for most of my parts! Rarely you can get two mystery parts in the same airport on the same refresh, and I think I saw Vic say once that he actually got three at the same airport, although that has never happened to me. Mapples can only be collected through pocket planes for Mac...they are not available on iOS devices. Reply to this and I will send you one! I can't recommend syncing your game to a Mac for anyone...the sync sucks, and you will suffer trying to get it back to your mobile device most of the time.
Thanks for the info... Do you find it more "profitable" to operate fewer airports? I have quite a few and wonder if I might be better off shuttering a few. Most of what I have are class 2 or 3 and most have been upgraded at leat 1 level, but I do have a few scattered class 1 airports around ( primarily so I can get my class 1 planes across continents). I appriciate the offer on the Maple, from the specs it looks like a great little plane to use. I would certainly be willing to reciprocate with at least some class 2 or 3 parts if you have need of any, I have a decent assortment i can part with...
No new event yet? (Although it'll probably be a Bux-only event.) It's a shame there wasn't a Commonwealth Games relayed event, especially with Glasgow being on the map.
I know it is only a bux event and many players don't bother with them so much, but does anyone know who is torching us on the leader board?
As it's been more than a day since the last event ended, can we surmise that Nimblebit are on holiday?
It's been a while since I checked in here. I've been playing on and off. Mostly off lately due to busy real life, plus a stupid Pocket Planes wrinkle. Hahaha. Remember how you end up with ZERO coins after cashing too many Bux? Well guess which idiot coughmecough did that during the last week of June. And I should have known better!!! (bangs head) There's a link with more details about this "feature" in one of the links in my signature. So... sometime after the Shipping Out in San Diego event ending on 6/25/14, I ended up with ZERO coins and around 1700 Bux leftover. I've been slowly building back up, not exactly Bux sitting (cuz that is soooooo boring). I'm now up to around 17,500 Bux. A problem I have been having lately with Pocket Planes is not being able to see the Leaderboard. It keeps giving me: Flight Crew Leaderboards are unavailable at this time. Any ideas what is causing this? @ Jmac I remember seeing you #1 on TA1 leaderboard for the Rio event. Well, whichever event had mystery parts, I think it was Rio. How many of them did you manage to collect? It was nice seeing some of the Usual Suspects on the Rio leaderboard. Easter Island ... I only have Sea Knights & Kangaroos right now and neither can make it out to Easter Island. I may sit this one out, I can't really afford to swap planes out of the hangar.
Hi Faye, try to disconnect and reconnect to your GC account in the settings. It should solve your leaderboard problem imho. Too bad about the bux exchange, allthough it's kinda funny it happened to you, guardian of the PP knowledge
Good to here from you Faye, sucks about the BUX exchange though. I only got eighteen parts and thirteen of them were controls, I should do Easter Island since I've got about twenty five upgraded Mapples sitting in NA and would only have to open Lima to make it work. The problem Is I recently discovered Real Racing 3 and have been spending most of my very limited free time playing that. Don't know what I'm going to do when football season starts.
