And for the holydays, a nice read from the NYT : a great and worrying article on the addiction to specific games some of us tend to develop (albeit not at the same scale here I hope!). Nice article Vic... I can honestly say that at one point in my life I was close to his level of gameplay in world of Warcraft. It was all consuming, work sleep wow, no social life but humongous status in the game. For me the game was an escape from real life which wasn't very good at the time. Luckily I finally broke the habit and moved on to happier things
Good for you mate I've known myself well enough over the years to carefully avoid games like WoW or Clash of Clans. Not risking any compulsive/obsessive behavior! Casual and non casual gaming on iOS and a bit of non Xbox live 360 gaming is good enough for me But I'm pretty sure any of us, TA1 frequent flyers, can recognize some patterns from this guy lol
Hey guys. How's things been? Speaking of other games.. I've dove back into Age of Empires. Anyone play that?
This is interesting: the crew who takes the most jobs* to a New Years Celebration in Rio (by 8pm my time on, rather ironically, New Years Day) gets 75 Bux. The rest of the crews in the Top 10 gets a useless Starship. (It may be fast, but it's actually a lossmaker on all but short flights like London-Paris or Cairo-Istanbul.) And, as it's not the top prize, there's no Mystery Parts available. * - Which is basically a longer way of saying "the TouchArcade crew", as I believe there's only one global event they haven't won.
So no mystery parts.. That sucks! But oh well, one starship is all I need anyway. Sure they don't make any profit, but they are excellent world wide bux getters, as I believe you can boost an empty starship anywhere for at most 2 bux. Really losing faith in them ever giving us a full Concorde or c130 event. I mean honestly what is the point in denying us those planes anymore? The game has been out forever now. I've been playing on iOS for almost a year now and haven't had a chance at even parts! It's so tempting to learn how to make iOS games just with the intent of creating a pocket planes 2 type game
I'm a traitor I don't need or want another starship but I'm trying to cash in another 45k BUX and increase my slots from 43 to whatever so I went over to the dark side and joined TA for this event only. Flysher I sent you a GC request and will send you a c130.
Do you guys eventually shut down your small airports once you're able to buy a bunch of Class 2/3 airports? Or you try to buy them all and just avoid the small airports when flying?
Depends entirely on your strategy, but generally, whether you are bux-sitting, parts-sitting, doing a global event/local events, or just trying to level up/earn coins, you will use almost exclusively class 3 and some class 2 airports. One team member kept open tons of airports and used blimps to fly everything around- all depends on how you like to play!
Lvl 12 here (newb), but I still don't understand the events. How do I know how to complete these "regular" events? TIA
