Well, that was unusual - I finished 6th in that event, somewhere I've never been before. (Although I doubt I would have finished that high had I not been signed off work due to a broken leg [as a hairdresser, I spend most of my working day on my feet].) I'm not putting any effort in at all - I've got two Hueys in my hanger (one from this event last year) that have never seen the light of day, so this one wouldn't be either. I just hope that I don't have to wait until April (I last sent planes out in July before the Boston event) for the next vaguely decent prize. (Maybe another Kringle Kruiser event in Chicago later this month?)
Don't forget about the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics in February. The London Olympics event lasted a full week. I just wonder which city the PP event would take place in... maybe Volgograd?
I really thinks its time for a full Concorde and full herc event. Games been out for a long time now, the exclusivity is gone, just let us collect!!!
Santiago Finish Santiago Finish (global event ending on Nov 23, 2013) I don't know who finished at #10.
Bogota Finish Bogota Finish (global event ending on Nov 27, 2013) I don't know who finished at #4 or #10.
Boston Finish Boston Finish (global event ending Nov 30, 2013) Better late than never? Sorry, I haven't been around much lately, in addition to the usual work and holiday stuff, the Little One was sick for a couple of weeks followed by me being sick for a couple of weeks (almost recovered!). Who finished at #1 with 5822 jobs? Wow!!! You and CallMeJC were flip flopping for a while. It was nice to see several old familiar names on the leaderboard.
^ It's also strange to see myself in the Top 10. (But, like I said earlier, having a broken leg - thus meaning no work - would have helped with that.) PS - Boston was won by somebody called "Ashford4".
Yes, my pocket planes is rozario173, forum name here is ashford4. These class 1 events are harder to win, but I'm currently #7.
Missing a part for another Huey from the Mystery Parts in the Jerusalem event? If so, you might get it on Sunday if you take at least 50 jobs for a search and rescue in Vienna. Yeah, I'll be giving this one a miss.
Anyone actually bothering to play the Oaxaca event? Good grief, the prize isn't even a (useless) hot air balloon, it's just a balloon part. I'm only playing to help keep TA1 in the top 10.
I am playing halfheartedly, since I will lose anything I do on weds due to no Internet access before the event ends
I'm not even bothering with it - I've got a Hot Air Balloon that has only been used once: the Nome to Wellington achievement. Which I did in May. (I think it was then, anyway.)
Did 110 just to help chip in and that's it. Wonder if there will be some Christmas fun again this year?
Is anyone experiencing an issue with the game crashing? It's like clockwork, the game slows down, becomes unresponsive and then it crashes. I don't recall it being this bad before upgrading to IOS7. I also think everything on my phone is more "chatty" with the outside world since installing IOS7. Am also having probs with stuff eating up my data plan and I have no idea what is causing this ... just that I found myself with 2MB left on my data plan with 6 days left in my billing cycle. I hope your leg is feeling better. These last three plane/parts events have been lame... don't need hot air balloons, hueys or blimps. What they need to do is a full plane Mapple event ... so all of us IOS bastard stepchildren can build up our Mapple fleet. I'd love to see a P flavored Kringle event this Christmas, to pair with the C flavored Kringles we already have. On the other hand, I also don't want any special Christmas event because I'll be spending the week at the Happiest Place on Earth and won't have much time to fling planes during that week. It's close ... TA1 is holding at 2nd place by around 200 jobs. No chance catching up with TA, their job count is astronomical!
Jerusalem Jerusalem Finish ... event ending December 4, 2013. I finally closed Jerusalem and Vienna yesterday.
Download a data usage monitoring app - iPhone options include Data Usage, Dataman Next, and Onavo. That will help you figure out where the data is going! If you have any data-draining apps, be sure to kill them when you're done (rather than just return to the home screen). Things like Waze and Pandora are awesome, but they'll eat up huge chunks of data if you don't pay attention! 180 jobs for Oaxaca, and that's enough unless I get really bored tonight.
