I've just deleted Pocket Trains. I had 12 lines and had just expanded into my fifth continent but have found it too needy! Too much work required to avoid layover hell. And don't get me started on the random cratesÂ…
You got to love layover micromanagement for sure. (disclosure : I do, for now!) you have to press each station even for long distance trips. Add that if you want to transfer cargo from SF to Tokyo, it has to go through at least 4 or 5 railroad lines, being layovered each time at a hub station. And of course you can't just keep the "end of the line" stations. So even with a few straight lines, you still will have dozens and dozens of stations. I just counted, I got almost 70 opened stations . Micromanagement hell/heaven depending of how you like it I'm more and more convinced that this is how they envisioned Pocket Planess play. That the gift for a new level in PP is more airports means a lot in that way. I guess they didn't expect many higher level players getting rid of all their class 1/2 airports. They envisioned more of a Merlion playstyle imho. But PP is very well balanced so many strategies suit it.
TA1 spreadsheet updated with Tehran finish from Nalazoo's screenshots, and also made sure to enter your #4 finish on the spreadsheet too. Also added you in GC. I just opened Vladivostok this morning, good thing most of my class 1 planes were still grounded in Tokyo since whatever event I last used them for (Anadyr?). So.... is it my imagination that scrolling around in PP has become even more sluggish ever since upgrading to IOS 7? Is it just an iPhone 4 thing? Scrolling through the job list freezes up even when no plane is dropping off cargo or landing. :-/ Very funny whoever it was who deleted me from the TA1 Crew sheet in the spreadsheet. @KTC, I contacted Dragonvale support about my gem gifting problem and got that all sorted, so you now show up on my DV friends list and I can send you gems again. Aha! That's exactly the problem I've run into. I thought maybe it was because I was very tired while trying to play PT while watching TV these past several nights. It was still a challenge while watching an easy "mindless" movie.
Thanks Faye. After not playing PP for a while I'm giving it another go after the PT frustrations. Realise now I should have gifted all my parts before deleting the app. Oh well.
Zoo - I'll have updated results to you through Vldaivostok tonight. Flung a flurry to crack top ten, but afraid it might be too little too late...
Vladivostok... (spreadsheet updated with finish results) Who is the Unknown #10? Thought I'd fling some planes while watching TV last night.... then played Mafia Wars instead. I've decided Pocket Trains works better when checking in now and then while out and about, definitely not while trying to watch a movie. Next event is in Easter Island .... not sure I have the will power to fling planes way over there.
kangaroos come up just short with all the gas tank mods, I have many kangaroos and it sucks and it is likely that I will never have any Mapples, unless they start giving mapple parts in some of the events
How many?! I'll be taking it easy with this event, I'm using three blimps - almost two hours per return trip! - and a single Mapple.
MOFO After Munich & Grand Opening of Train Station Chugga, Chugga, Woooo, Wooooo! You had to be there to listen to the engines humming and whistles blowing and many citizens of Ta1-ville did just that. They came out to climb aboard shiny, brand-new, smell of oil & grease with leather polish trains at the Pocket Trains Celebration. Hot dogs, peanuts, cotton candy galore, it was like our town fair with all the balloons, banners and hoopla of a major election. A sight to behold. For some, getting there was a hurdle. There were capacity issues with their vehicles, which required major overhauls and the availability of space to install new drive trains to handle the journey. TA1-ville pilots needed to pull themselves away and help get cargo delivered to Munich. Turned out the allure of these miniature trains was overwhelming and only a handful of pilots took on jobs. Others were quick to snatch up licenses for new railway expansion and the hunt for bigger and faster trains began. In the air, the Wily Whirler made his way to the top and secured first with only 1,476 jobs. Boyz and Girlz, these numbers wouldn't have made the top 10 in TA1-ville's hay day...now, they are as common as pumpkin pie. Gus flew into second while keeping an eye on Mildly Annoyed who was making a move to overtake Gus. Only 19 jobs separated these two. That's only 4 Kagaroos folks...close indeed. Ktc had the podium in sight, and there it remained, just out of reach. Coastcat landed in fifth. 'Zoo, who was off at some weekend event in another part of the world somehow managed to make a decent showing with 756 jobs delivered. She was noticeably absent from the festivities at the new Train Station. CopperMetallic, Bervie, KellyPad and Zekeamf finished out the field. The final finish looked like this: 1. MindTornado 1,476 2. Gus 1,103 3. MildlyAnnoyed 1,084 4. Ktc 951 5. Coastcat 794 6. Nalazoo 756 7. CopperMetallic 679 8. Bervie 584 9. KellyPad 472 10. Zekeamf 294 With 5 of 8 races down, Silver Yoke 11 is shaping up. 'Zoo has a good lead and could take it easy on an event or two. The Charming Chinook is going head-to-head with the Great Swarm Master, Gus to see who takes second. Don't count Faye out just yet. The current standings: 1. Nalazoo 115 (1, 100) 2. MindTornado 59 (3, 41) 3. Gus 53 (6, 28) 4. Faye 46 (2, 46) 5. Vic 39 (4, 39) 6. Ktc 37 (5, 33) 7. TDizzle 26 (7, 26) 8. Zekeamf 26 (9, 18) 9. KellyPad 23 (8, 23) 10. CopperMetallic 13 (n/a) We're past the midpoint and on the downhill slide toward the finish in the Golden Sequoia 4. Nothing has changed at the top, Gus though has made a giant leap of 3 places - from 8th last race to 5th leaving Harmoniamundi and Faye behind. Let's look at those standings after 13 of 23 races. 1. Nalazoo 214 (1, 199) 2. MindTornado 170 (2, 148) 3. Jmac 129 (3, 129) 4. Ktc 106 (4, 102) 5. Gus 90 (8, 65) 6. Harmoniamundi 89 (5, 89) 7. Faye 74 (6, 74) 8. KellyPad 68 (7, 68) 9. Vic 39 (9, 39) 10. Zekeamf 36 (na, 28) In the great Concorde Cup, the gap between Faye and 'Zoo continues to shrink. Less than two dozen points separate the beauties of the sky. Gus could still have a great run or more in a Class 1 event where he gives it his all while the girls are off on adventures elsewhere. We've seen these numbers move and nothing is done until the race is called. Watch here for more amazing results. The current Concorde Cup standings: 1. Faye 815 (1, 815) 2. Nalazoo 794 (2, 779) 3. Gus 723 (3, 698) 4. MindTornado 470 (4, 448) 5. Ktc 436 (5, 417) 6. SuperPenguin 423 (6, 423) 7. Ump 383 (7, 377) 8. North 367 (8, 367) 9. Jmac 350 (9, 350) 10. Vic 337 (10, 337) Cheers! M'Z
Nice write up as always. WOW!!!! Nalazoo just leaped into the Top 10 by delivering 350+ jobs to Easter Island in the last hour! All the way up to #1 spot in one fell swoop! At this rate she may even clear 10k jobs by the end of this event. We look forward to seeing such high numbers in PP again. I still haven't opened up Easter Island yet but I think I'll do that later this afternoon and fling a few planes. Still only flying a small portion of my fleet, too busy in Mafia Wars (ongoing clan war) and distracted by pushing trains across Europe. My daughter asked about repainting the trains.
Does anybody know what happened to this website? http://pocketplaneswiki.com/ It's the website that had pics of all types of planes, passengers, & cargo, listed the Global Events up to a point, listed the P/C for each type of event, and lots of other stuff... Does anybody know how PMs on this forum end up in the "Archived" folder? I just noticed I have some in there but don't know how they got there. I don't even see a button to move messages from Inbox to Archived. Ah, mystery solved! Just accepted your GC request. Sorry I missed it, there are other people playing games on my iPhone so I don't always see the GC request popup. Added you to the TA1 CREW sheet. Updated the Vladivostok sheet in the spreadsheet: 1 Nalazoo 2685 2 sdo62 1973 3 Faye Valentine QOH 1324 4 Bervie18 754 5 Lewis Henson 649 6 VIC SARK 605 7 KellyPad 470 8 Yogismith 390 9 Stephanickety 371 10 kubla 298 I have fond memories of using Blimps in the first Easter Island Global Event ... it was a little more relaxed back then since it happened before the MOFOs. Here's a screenshot of Easter Island ... Come join the fun ... only 31 jobs needed to make the Top 10! ... but not for long ... I'm buying Easter Island after I finish posting this.
Nice... don't forget you can send your plane back for 1 bux after it has dropped off at Easter Island and turned back, that'll help cut down on time so you can send your next batch of jobs. I still haven't gotten around to starting Easter Island (sigh) .... busy with work.
Woot! 10 hours later... finally opened up Easter Island and sent my first planes thataway. Got some catching up to do ... entry into the Top 10 is now 54 jobs...
