    MOFO After Panama

After many a bottle of champagne was uncorked in London, the TA1-ville pilots found themselves head off to Panama for a Chemical Spill. Big planes were sent to the hanger for some much needed TLC as small Sea Knights and Mapples appeared on the runway.

Dealing with cleanup crews for a chemical spill was not something many pilots were equipped for and only a handful of pilots even joined in these crucial cleanup efforts. Kudos to all for your help in taking care of the environment!

'Zoo set off on a quick pace then eased into a comfortable, yet slow paced rhythm. Faye, found time to fling a few planes and crept up on 'Zoo. Alas, timing was in 'Zoo's favor.

Veteran slingers showed up for a duel. Gus, the Swarm Master and Sherrif Vic went toe, to toe. With Sherrif Vic ending up with third. An unknown appeared on the scene yet has not come forward to claim their spot.

In the Concorde Cup, note Sherrif Vic has been flying, trying to hang onto his spot in this illustrious list of experienced pilots.

Been sidetracked lately coughPocketTrainscough and am catching up in here now.

Just entered in the 1H Munich results into the SUCK (spreadsheet). I didn't see anyone post a later leaderboard finish.
So I've got you entered in the SUCK at #8 with 584 jobs at 1H.
    :D

Finally opened Pocket Planes again briefly today.
Closed Anadyr, Magadan, Sapporo and Munich (yes, I opened Munich but did not fling any plane there :( )
Opened Anchorage this afternoon and actually flung planes there!
Only a small fraction of planes are devoted to Anchorage at the moment, just 5 Mapples and 5 maybe 6 Cyclones.

I finally upgraded the iPhone from IOS 5 to IOS 7 after jumping through many hoops (had to upgrade iTunes too). Downloaded Pocket Trains Saturday night and have been playing around with that since. Still enjoying its newness, I'm not sure about its longevity without global events to help with motivation. OTOH I do like how there are definite stopping points where I can put it down and get back to real life stuff. That is hard to do in Pocket Planes when it can take a full job refresh or more to work through my list of planes, and then tell myself "just one more job refresh" before I'm done, and we all know how that never ends. ;)

Have tried to look for gameplay tips in the PT thread but it is overwhelming with its high traffic (and parts trading posts in recent days). I read bits and pieces of the thread from my iPhone, sometimes starting at the beginning and working forward, other times starting at the end and working backwards. I'm missing the "middle section". And now that I'm back on the computer where forum messages are easier to read, heck if I know where that middle section begins and ends when there are over 100 pages is that thread. :-/

I'm having trouble sending parts, keep getting an error retrieving friends. Ran into this earlier in the afternoon and again now. Is this a Game Center issue resulting from my IOS7 upgrade?

    MOFO After Nome

Typically pilots must move their planes across far reaches and move feeder planes, in a lucky turn of events, pilots were able to take the scenic route up the coast along with juicy paying cargo & passenger headed to the air show in Nome. Feeder planes only needed slight adjustment. This made for a quick turnaround.

Many pilots were left behind as they cleaned up,their planes after dealing with cleanup crews - new seat coverings, carpets, and full cargo hold overhauls were in order.

Others headed over to the new train station to take part in test driving new trains. Rumors surfaced of Cherry Steamers and planning was underway for a Train Celebration, date to be determined.

A newcomer quickly took the lead. There were whispers on he streets, "Who is this? Where did he come from?" Happily, TDizzle stepped forward to introduce himself and make friends. 'Zoo was determined not to let him have the race without a fight. Turned out the veteran had the fleet capable of doing the job, landing her in first and leaving TDizzle holding second. A very respectable showing for the new kid in town.

The Sherrif picked his match against the Wily Whirler. The Sherrif seems fond of waiting to the last minute...remember in Panama City, Sherrif Vic stood outside the M S&H office, watching the leaderboard and just begging for it to be updated befor the end of the race...and...poor Gus fell victim as the last numbers came in with just minutes to spare. Would the Windy One experience the same fate? Yes, yes indeed as Sherrif Vic claims the last spot on the podium.

We see the rest of the leaderboard populated by familiar names: Ktc, Zekeamf, Gus, Coastcat and KellyPad. Joining them, another newbie, MildlyAnnoyed who finished out the field with 549 jobs. Eons ago, these numbers wouldn't have out you in the top 10, alas, a new age of transportation is coming.

    The final finish for Nome:
    1. Nalazoo 3,586
    2. TDizzle 2,040
    3. Vic 1,564
    4. MindTornado 1,424
    5. Ktc 1,113
    6. Zekeamf 867
    7. Gus 762
    8. Coastcat 700
    9. KellyPad 670
    10. 670

After just three races in Silver Yoke 11, we see some juggling of names. In parenthesis you'll find the pilots previous position and total points. 'Zoo is setting a quick pace, as she knows she has a trip coming up soon Nd needs points to stay ahead and add another trophy to her mantle.

Sherrif Vic and the Worrisome Winds are on e same pace and both jump 2 spots, pushing Faye to fourth. Gus gains a spot. KellyPad hangs on to sixth. Ktc and TDizzle are tied, with Ktc having the upper hand from scoring pints first. Another tie between Jmac and Zekeamf finish out the playing field.

    1. Nalazoo 75 (1, 50)
    2. Vic 39 (3, 27)
    3. MindTornado 37 (4, 22)
    4. Faye 28 (2, 28)
    5. Gus 28 (6, 18)
    6. KellyPad 23 (5, 21)
    7. Ktc 18 (7, 12)
    8. TDizzle 18 (na, 0)
    9. Jmac 8 (8, 8)
    10. Zekeamf 8 (na, 0)

That brings us to the standings for the Golden Sequoia 4. The Charming Chinook finds himself watching 'Zoo's tail fins and keeping Jmac's propeller far behind. Further back, Gus unseats Faye and takes seventh place.

Boyz and Girlz, we are approaching the halfway mark, and with 11 or so races left to go, things can certainly change here...and they probably will!
    1. Nalazoo 174 (1, 149)
    2. MindTornado 148 (2, 129)
    3. Jmac 129 (3, 129)
    4. Harmoniamundi 89 (4, 89)
    5. Ktc 87 (5, 81)
    6. KellyPad 68 (6, 66)
    7. Gus 65 (8, 55)
    8. Faye 56 (7, 56)
    9. Vic 39 (na, 27)
    10. Scaramanga 29 (9, 29)

The Concorde Cup, we see the gap continuing to close between Faye and 'Zoo. We've heard Faye say that she'll give 'Zoo the cup...will she? This and other developments remain to be seen. Gus continues to put up just enough points to make it difficult for the Turning Tornado to catch up, though it appears that it won't stop him from trying.

    1. faye 797 (1, 797)
    2. zoo 754 (2, 729)
    3. gus 698 (3, 688)
    4. mt 448 (4, 453)
    5. sp 422 (5, 422)
    6. ktc 417 (6, 411)
    7. ump 377 (7, 377)
    8. north 367 (8, 367)
    9. jmac 350 (9, 350)
    10. vic 337 (10, 325)

    Cheers!

Thanks for the help the ideas in those guides really answered most of my questions. I still have one question though. I notice nothing earlier then a kangaroo is considered a "keeper" does that mean I should wait to buy new planes till I unlock it or should I still replace my 1 seat planes ASAP so I can start getting the bonus? Btw I started in Europe and my gamecenter name is Tyrion89. I already joined toucharcade1 so if anyone wants to add me or send me some of their old crap I would appreciate it.

    Anchorage Finish

This was a nice leisurely event. I only flew a small fraction of my fleet, 5 Mapples to Anchorage and no Bux boosting.

Ok, back to pushing trains... :D
