I had a busy morning, had to move around a lot. So it was drive someplace, park car, fling planes, do what I need to do there, return to car, fling planes, drive to next place, repeat... I am now wrestling with iPhone & laptop trying to download/install stuff (need software updates on laptop, new iTunes, IOS 7, and eventually Pocket Trains). Long story short.... Not making much progress ... Download stalled. Errors about no being connected to Internet (which works fine!). And lots of waiting... Is everyone playing Pocket Trains? Oh, the other thing I have going on is a Mafia Wars competition running Friday afternoon thru Sunday evening.
@Faye : don't forget to do a save of your iPhone in iTunes on your computer before installing the iOs 7. And make room, have at least 1 or 2 Gb free. It bugged on my iPad during the install, had to so a full restore!
Yeah, I like the game, but disappointed that the global events aren't there. The social aspect really added to Pocket Planes. Gives it a longer shelf life, so to speak.
Big time bummed that there is no leaderboard or global events. Thinking how we can be competitive without...oh, and I really should be getting ready for a weekend event (leave tomorrow morning and won't be home until late Sunday). I think our Minister of Mathematical Mysteries put on a Conductor hat and has been running trains...hoping he'll still have time to help,out the poor editor-in-chief of the newspaper....alas, I won't be able to do anything until I get back (no Internet where I'm going).
Sorry 'Zoo. I've ran a few trains. Like the game but not sure if I'll be able to get past no crews... I will have the updated standings ready for you by the time you get back.
Thanks for the warning! I've had to do full restores after having my iPhone replaced twice. First time was a screen issue, it would stay dark (not because I cracked the glass LOL) and the other time was a microphone hardware issue (other person could not hear me on phone). I gave up after spending HOURS trying to download software updates for the laptop, the new iTunes, and IOS7 ... funny how you plan to download and install one thing, but then end up having to download and install a bazillion other things. IOS7 upgrade wouldn't work from the phone side. Someone suggested trying from the computer end, but then it told me I needed the new iTunes first. One thing leads to another... Anyhow, I keep getting an error after several hours downloading, almost always related to my internet connection which is unreliable and tends to drops off. I will have to see whether I can stop by hubby's office and try installing there, a reliable super fast connection should do the trirck. From what others have posted about Pocket Trains, it looks like we can't have a TA1 crew? Kinda disappointing. Now I'm in less of a rush to upgrade to IOS7 and install PT.
Barely made the required 50 jobs in recent events. Anadyr was really down to the wire. Life took over. And now, PT. Be interesting to see if there'll ever be a full-plane event again.
In PT's daily events, I had an event with outgoing cargo only. That would be neat to have that in PP, would change a lot the strategy!

I know there probably isn't a definite answer (though I'd love it if there was!), but will there be any kind of Global Event system like in Pocket Planes in the future? Outgoing cargo would make for a odd strategy... But it would be easy to max out the potential. I can empty a airport in no time... One Cloudliner does that . . . It would just be a battle to who had the most free time.
Not exactly. With the ability to utilize many airports and many Planes to do incoming passenger and cargo to one place someone can overcome a lack of free time with a lot of planes and a good strategy... With outgoing cargo, you just need 4-5 planes and a lot of free time... It's a lot simpler to take stuff out of one airport than to ship stuff to one airport from many airports.
Hey folks... Haven't been around for a while! It seems the game is still somewhat popular thankfully I switched from android to Apple finally.... It's hard going from level 40 with 50 planes back to fresh install! Does anyone have any planes they can spare? A few mapples or kangaroos or anything really would be much appreciated... Wow, Rodeo in Anchorage for all of 30 BUX, guess I'll be spending the next three days sending Trains. Maybe Nimblebit is trying to kill this game.
