Ouch. Lucky for the Sherrif...not so fortunate for the Swarm Master. Off to Nome we go!

    Awesome community

I'm new here but honestly, it's great seeing how everyone interacts throughout the missions! Hopefully I can rank in the top 10 for Nome - but the competition seems pretty crazy.

    MOFO after London

NimbleBit helps launch Silver Yoke 11 with a tasty morsel, a Concorde Part for helping visitors and plane parts arrive safely in London for what other than the Concorde Ceremony.

Silver Yoke 11 started with a throw down between the Clever Cyclone and his nemesis, Zooming 'Zoo. In the first day and a half, these two were hitting Mach 2.04, their established cruising speed.

JMAC and friends pulled up stools in Penguin's Saloon to watch the race unfold. If this had been Formula 1 racing, the call may have sounded something like this...
MindTornado takes the lead as 'Zoo steps away for lunch. Back on the screen, 'Zoo punches it and retakes first. MindTornado will not be edged out and lands a large fleet via a second runway. 'Zoo's repainted planes pay off and she passes MindTornado in the airspace over Paris. MindTornado once again takes the lead as 'Zoo is forced into the hangar for a mandatory rest period. MindTornado does not see 'Zoo in the air and although he's taken the lead, his pace has slowed. Confident he's won, he puts the planes on autopilot. A refreshed and wide awake 'Zoo returns with determination and in the last 2 hours overtakes MindTornado and holds him at bay until she receives the checkered flag. Congratulations to both for a mighty race and we'll see you at the podium to receive your trophies and titles of "Hero!"

Hidden by the race for the top, another battle was brewing in the middle of the pack. The Great Swarm Master seems to have regained his strength and is going to continue to fight to stay on the Concorde Podium and potentially move up. JMAC held his own until he opted to pull up a stool and watch the battle for first unfold. A stealthy Faye drafted behind JMAC & Gus waiting for an opening. That opening came as she slid into the Windy One's slipstream and was catapulted two places on the leader board in the last 2 hours. Faye had Sherrif Vic and KellyPad in her sights, alas, they were too far ahead.

Ktc, SuperPenguin and Copper Metallic were content to fly casually and fill out the Top 10.

Since this is the first race in the 11th Silver Yoke, here are the final results and the current standings:
    1. Nalazoo 15,560
    2. MindTornado 14,219
    3. KellyPad 3,758
    4. Vic 3,438
    5. Faye 3,193
    6. JMAC 3,001
    7. Gus 1,989
    8. Ktc 1,685
    9. SuperPenguin 1,560
    10. Copper Metallic 1,546

Since this is the first race in the Silver Yoke, the standings are the same as the results, here are the points earned:
    1. Nalazoo 25
    2. MindTornado 18
    3. KellyPad 15
    4. Vic 12
    5. Faye 10
    6. JMAC 8
    7. Gus 6
    8. Ktc 4
    9. SuperPenguin 2
    10. Copper Metallic1

As we approach the half-way mark for Golden Sequoia 4, JMAC and the Wily Wirler are tied. JMAC holds first due to his higher previous finish. JMAC can't afford to hang out in the saloon too often if he wants to beat the Whirling Winds and hold off the unrelenting 'Zoo who is only behind by 5 points.

With 12 more races to go, those further back need to score big points if they want to move up. I tell you Boyz and Girlz, TA1-ville is alive with fierce competition and the M S&H will be here to report it.

    1. JMAC 129 (1, 121)
    2. MindTornado 129 (2, 111)
    3. Nalazoo 124 (3, 99)
    4. Harmoniamundi 89 (4, 89)
    5. Ktc 73 (5, 61)
    6. KellyPad 60 (6, 45)
    7. Gus 43 (7, 37)
    8. Faye 38 (9, 28)
    9. Scaramanga 29 (8, 29)
    10 Clint 28 (10, 28)

Over in the Concorde Cup, Faye is starting to feel the pressure from behind. 'Zoo closes the gap by 15 points. It's clear that 'Zoo has no intention of easing up and has Faye in her sights.

As the start of Nome has shown, Gus is scrambling his planes in an effort to make up points and second place. While he's looking ahead, the Charming Chinook is making headway and sees the possibilities of snatching third from Gus's hands. Penguin has fallen to his power, who's next?

Sherrif Vic finds himself on the bubble. Will he surface or sink? Watch for these and other developments in the weeks to come.

    Current Concorde Cup standings:

    1. Faye 779 (1, 769)
    2. Nalazoo 704 (2, 679)
    3. Gus 676 (3, 670)
    4. MindTornado 429 (5, 411)
    5. SuperPenguin 422 (4, 420)
    6. Ktc 403 (6, 399)
    7. Ump 377 (7, 377)
    8. SlightlyNorth 367 (8, 367)
    9. JMAC 350 (9, 342)
    10. Vic 310 (10, 298)

    Cheers!

Love it when I log into the forum and the PP thread is first on the list! Another quick glance and I see that the last person who posted was Ms. 'Zoo. Could it be another edition of the M S&H? I try to temper my hopes as I click the link...

And what do you know. It is!! Not only that, but it's one of the best editions ever...

Thanks for keeping up with it Zoo. I'll have Panama for you as soon as someone claims spot #5.

Still no one claiming that #5 spot for Panama? Hmmm...guess it goes in the unknown column. If someone comes forward later, adjustments can be made.

Figuring Out Panama & SUCK Limit

It dawned on me that we might be able to figure out who ended up in 5th for Panama by looking at the interim results and seeing who was participating.

There were some new folks toward the bottom. Since Sherrif Vic posted the screenshot, most of the long-term players would be eon his GC list...so that eaves me to think it's a newer member of the TA1 flight crew.

Figured while I was there, I'd get a new spreadshetet started for Nome...however I'm getting a message that the spreadsheet is approaching the limit of 400,000 cells!

Thoughts? Ideas? Do we start a SUCK2? I'll defer to our Minister of Mathematical Mysteries as I don't want to muck up anything.

I guess maybe we could make a copy of the full spreadsheet, name it TA1 archive or sthg.
Then clean up our huge file deleting the first 80 sthg global events results sheets.
My understanding is that the Mofo rankings sheet has no links to them, just the value of the points?
And we keep evthg else besides the results sheets (Mofo rankings, ressources, TA1 Crew...).
Add a link to the archive in the ressources for fututre reference.
    What do you think?

Btw, we could kill the NimbleQuest TA1 crew sheet, it's not been used nor accurate any more I guess.

So wWho keeps the spreadsheet with the formulas up to date now? Are you Zoo?
I missed a good month of forum (PP detox) :D

I was thinking the same thing.
Move old stuff to an Archive spreadsheet to free up the current SUCK.
Then people don't have to change their links & bookmarks. ;)

    EDIT TO ADD:
    #TA1 GameCenter List ARCHIVE 2013-09-20
(read-only, since we won't need to add to it at the moment)

(link to this ARCHIVE spreadsheet is on the Resources sheet of the SUCK, and also linked from the Strategies, Tips & Resources forum post)

That's why I sometimes try to add interim leaderboard results along the way. You can figure out that someone who is between to consecutive finishing ranks must have moved UP the leaderboard. This has helped on numerous occasions to fill in the blanks.

    Nice report as usual. :)

You can have the Concorde Cup... I'm cutting back on PP time. Ok, the family time slicing isn't helping with PP burnout/loss of interest.
I'm surprised I did so well in Panama, not bad for having Lima as the only class 3 city in South America. I was too lazy to open up SP, RdJ and BA, and was pulling Panama jobs from as far away as Shanghai. Not exactly efficient.

Well I guess I should try to make a small effort on Nome. Didn't we do Nome fairly recently? Late start opening up Nome on Friday afternoon for an event that ends Saturday night. Wonder if I'll even make the Top 25. Prolly won't do that much, have not been feeling well these days, and the Little One is also sick.

Faye - hope you & the Little One feel better soon. Thanks for cleaning up the SUCK - hard for me to do it on my iPad.

Vic - taking care if the SUCK has been a combined effort. Faye tends to be the record keeper, though others will pitch in. MindTornado is the Minister of Mathematical Mysteries and also deals with all the MOFO point standings. MindTornado sends me a report via PM which is what I use to publish the M S&H.

PT releases on the 26th and I'll be away that weekend - back to scrapbooking season & vending at events.

Try editing spreadsheets from an itty bitty iPhone screen. :D
I have to wait until I can get to a computer, fat thumbs on itty bitty iPhone screen doesn't work so well. I have a resource hogging script running on the little laptop, so usually have to wait until that ends before I try to load up the spreadsheet otherwise things go out of whack.

Removed old events, 84 and earlier. It was a bit sad seeing names of people who used to update the SUCK on earlier events, many no longer play PP and have moved on. For a while it seemed like Merlion & I were the only ones looking at the SUCK, and I got lazy about filling in the "Updated By" column.
Managed to add a new sheet for the current Nome event. :D
Also filled in the Panama results on the Panama sheet.

How much space does Pocket Trains need? I hope I have enough space to install it. I have space issues due to OTHER people's games. (grumble) Tried trimming it down, now have 800 MB to work with.

I have to go pick up a prescription for the Little One and it is not covered by insurance. :(

@Faye : I hope the little one gets better soon.

I wouldn't worry about the size of PT app, should be about 50meg max, NimbleBit tries usually to stay under the 3g download limit (which was @50m and is now 100m with ios7)

Big up to you, Zoo and Tornado for keeping our friendly TouchArcade1 championship running ;)

PT doesn't look like it's relying a lot on PP like global events, hope we can figure sthg out there!

    Hello everyone!

I'd just like to say hi again!

I haven't been active on Pocket Planes / TA forum for about 10 months now (life happened!), but some of you may remember me? I see Bluebear, Train2000, Faye, vicsark just to name a few that I talked and battled with on the PP leaderboards back then xD

I've taken part in some recent events, but it's taken me a while to back track the extra... 1,200 pages of posts since my departure (well, okay, I only skimmed them : -) but it seems a TA1 crew was set up last year? I just stumbled across the spreadsheet as well!!! Impressive :p It feels like I'm new to all of this again now, is there anything else I've missed out on? (MOFO ratings..???)

I've also added my name to the members list on the spreadsheet and would like to take part in the last few Pocket Planes global events before Trains is released (which I didn't even realise until a few days ago!), see if I can't challenge Faye one last time before everyone migrates to the new game... :D
If I'm welcome, may I double check that the correct crew input is 'toucharcade1'? Looking at the spreadsheet, at the moment I'd be placing around 5th if I were in TA1 now :)

So it's good to be back, and I'm glad I finally have time to waste time on Nimblebits games again!!! I have to admit, I've somewhat missed all of this...

    Hey MD welcome back!
Sure hop in, just change to Toucharcade1 for the next event (you got to kill and relaunch the app for the change to apply)
TA1 is one or two months shy of a year old I think ;)
I still got u in GC, just checked, but be sure to add the others (look at the last few results for the most active players)

So I had to reinstall everything on my iPod recently and it appears I lost my lvl 40something save for this game in the process. There's no way to get back any of the stuff from that save is there? I had finally started getting close to the top 15-20 in ta1 when I lost it all :(

Hey stranger, nice to see you again!!!
I've cut back on PP (burnout, boredom, and other family members playing their games on my phone) but you'll find plenty of others in TA1 to compete with. Like Vic suggested, take a look at the active players in previous events and add them to GC.

I remember a time when I'd fall behind by a dozen or more forum pages if I skipped a day.

It's a good thing Bluebear didn't hold his breath for that Kalgoorlie event he wanted so much which never materialized.

So... what does the Top 10 look like right now?
I still haven't yet found a good rhythm for this Nome event, and I don't think I'll get there with 14 hours left. Still have a boatload of Clouds & Cyclones grounded in Lima, and also a bunch grounded in Shanghai. Woohoo, I made it to #24 with 38 jobs delivered. :D
