Have been flinging planes for over a year in TA, but seems like TA1 is the way to go. Like the competition. Am at lvl 42 w/ 24 slots. Those interested in PT status here's a link to their new youtube post: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FMiuNSXvJY PT is getting closer.
Jmac just leapfrogged over Clint to take 3rd place .... waiting to see whether he can deliver another 240 jobs to leapfrog over Harmoniamundi to take 2nd place....
I've already entered the Top10 results into the spreadsheet ... Finding time to play Pocket Planes is becoming more challenging these days. Most of the games installed belongs to the Little One. And recently, hubby decided he wanted to start a mini on Kingdom Age, so guess where that got installed!!!
New to TouchArcade Forum Hi Guys! New to the forum. I am at Level 33. I have been part of the toucharcade flight crew for a while but on this forum it looks like its toucharcade1? Just trying to figure out the difference and which flight crew I should be on. I also have spare parts/airplanes to give away that I am no longer using. Looking forward to connecting. Cheers
Welcome to TDizzle and Bervie. As you can see there is a pretty good sense of community that most likely carry over to PT. Add us on GC - you can get some of our names from the top ten screenshots - so we can see who we're competing with/against. I think Faye or Zoo has a link to a post that sums up the differences between TA and TA1.
We saw a couple that would work with some updating. We also looked at property, as we may end up building to get the home we want. We were really surprised at how many bad house layouts we saw. Things like garage entrance to house so far away from kitchen...don't they know you go grocery shopping? Or, coat closet in the laundry room, not near the front door. And many houses with very limited storage. Houses there don't have basements. There were a few with attics or storage area in the garage. The best had to be the one...a ranch...with stairs, stairs and more stairs - stairs from the garage to hall, stairs from kitchen to family room, stairs in hallway to bedroom, and from bedrooms to laundry - down stairs, walk, then up stairs. Ok, most were only 4-5 stairs...still. Who thought of that? LOL
Lunch With Shep We find Miss 'Zoo and Shep seated in a booth by the window at SuperPenguin's Saloon. Miss 'Zoo: Oh Shep, what am I going to do? The TA1-ville kinfolk rely on me to report the news. I've failed miserably! Miss 'Zoo: I should be letting the racers know what race we're in and how many races left to go in the Silver Yoke. I thought there were 16 races! How could I do that? We've been racing for the better part of a year, how could I make such an error? Miss 'Zoo buries her face in her hands. Shep reaches over and gently pulls one away and holds onto it. Shep: I'm sure your readers will understand. Miss 'Zoo: You think so? Shep: Yes, I do. In fact, they'll probably find some humor in it if you write it up that way. It's all in how you present it. Miss 'Zoo gazes out the window, the wheels of her mind starting to churn. Just then, the waitress brings over their lunch. Miss 'Zoo: I'll have to consult with the Minister of Mathematical Mysteries, between us, we can find a way out of this... Miss 'Zoo picks up something from her plate, holds it up and laughs... Miss 'Zoo: pickle. Miss 'Zoo: So, how was your trip to the new train yard? What's going on? Who did you see? Shep: It's very exciting and is going to cause quite a stir. I spotted a few TA1-ville friends on the proving grounds. Miss 'Zoo: Who? Shep: SilghtlyNorth, Lorena...er, Xgarriga, and as expected Train 2000. It looked like Sherrif Vic wanted to get in on the act, but since he was busy here, he just missed the cut-off. Miss 'Zoo: What else? Shep: From what I could tell, the test phase is over and the railroad has gone for final approval. Miss 'Zoo: So we could see engines and cars and conductors in town soon! Shep: Yes, yes we could. Very soon. Miss 'Zoo and Shep continue their lunch, pondering the new railroad and competitions to come.
^ It's posts like that one that keep me coming here, despite not having sent any planes out since late July.
Don't know where she's finding time for posts like that when she's already delivered 6,300+ jobs in a day and a half...
Fling, write, fling, edit, fling, lunch, fling, dinner...think I've been plane deprived...oh, and someone is right on my heels...LOL. Let's play leap frog Thanks Becky
Hahaha yes it's quite interesting to see how this London event will end. I've been periodically updating the spreadsheet with leaderboard results, the Top10 got into viewing range again so I just entered that into the spreadsheet a few minutes ago.
MOFO - Wrap Up of Silver Yoke 10 (after Shanghai and Novosibirsk) EXTRA, EXTRA, read all about it! Oh wait, you have probably already heard this news via the TA1-ville comminicator. Alas, we here at the M S&H need to report it as we see it, even if the news may be a week late and we're on to bigger and better things. Now, aback to our regular, in scheduled report. EXTRA, EXTRA, read all about it! Yes, we're saying it again, as it's that important. The Balmy Breeze blew into a Terrific Tornado setting Shaghai on fire with an outstanding delivery of 40,425 jobs! MindTornado now joins the ranks of other Superheros before him. The Whimsical Whirler after exchanging BUX for coins and expanding his airline set out to make a name for himself, putting up big up numbers early and making it difficult for anyone to come close. Gus, the Swarm Master, was a distant second and Harmoniamundi took third. Faye's flinging finds fourth. Meanwhile, Zekeamf who we haven't seen on the leaderboard in 70 events, finishes in fifth - welcome back! 'Zoo, who is off on vacation still finds time to fling planes and ends up in sixth. JMAC kept his eye on 'Zoo, knowing that they are both in contention for the Silver Yoke Cup, lands in seventh. Scaramanga, KellyPad and DCW wrap up the top 10. Here's how it played out in jobs delivered: 1. MindTornado 40,425 - receives Superhero status 2. Gus 6,688 3. Harmoniamundi 5,293 4. Faye 4,698 5. Zekeamf 4,447 6. Nalazoo 3,211 7. JMAC 2,730 8. Scaramanga 2,699 9. KellyPad 2,342 10. DCW 2,187 JMAC has pulled away from 'Zoo, knowing she's on vacation he's np made some strategic moves toward earning the 10th Silver Yoke cup. MindTornado has his eye on the second place on the podium. Boyz and Girlz, just wait to see what happens. Oh, you don't have to wait long, as the results are already in. The Biz Meeting in Shanghai is the next to last event for the 10th Silver Yoke and the standings looked like this: 1. JMAC 106 (1, 100) 2. Nalazoo 89 (2, 81) 3. MindTornado 86 (3, 61) 4. Harmoniamundi 71 (5, 56) 5. ktc 61 (4,61) 6. KellyPad 39 (6, 37) 7. Gus 37 (10, 19) 8. Scaramanga 29 (9, 25) 9. BumActor 27 (7, 27) 10. Xgarriga 25 (8, 25) In the Concorde Cup, Faye is still in the lead, though the distance between her, Gus and 'Zoo continues to tighten. Gus has awakened and by taking second in this race while 'Zoo was off house hunting, he was able to reclaim the second place. Boyz and Girlz, Gus is not going to go down without a fight. MindTornado continues to okay leap frog, catapulting twp slots. Ump, who has not scored points in seven events and SlightlyNorth who hasn't scored points in nine events and is off playing conductor while testing new railroad engines both fall to the Wily Whirler. Will his next triumph be SuperPenguin? The new saloon has kept Penguin busy enough that he's not scored in the last five events. This race is from from over. Let's see where they currently stand: 1. Faye 765 (1, 753) 2. Gus 670 (3, 652) 3. Nalazoo 669 (2, 661) 4. SuperPenguin 420 (4, 420) 5. ktc 391 (5, 391) 6. MindTornado 386 (8, 361) 7. Ump 377 (6, 377) 8. SlightlyNorth 367 (7, 367) 9. JMAC 327 (9, 321) 10. Vic 298 (10, 298) Good food and great celebrations were to be had at the conclusion of the Novosibirsk event, a Chef Competition in the far flung reaches of Russia. With limited access from either Moscow or Asia, crews worked hard to get their jobs delivered. MindTornado's newly expanded airline proves to be a major player taking another first place victory. Harmoniamundi, JMAC and Clint duel it out with the first two taking second and third, leaving Clint standing on the sidelines. Somehow 'Zoo finds enough time to still end up on the leaderboard in fifth. Ktc, KellyPad, Faye, Coastcat and SDO finish out the field. The final standings for Novosibirsk were: 1. MindTornado 4,513 2. Harmoniamundi 2,732 3. JMAC 2,371 4. Clint981 2,276 5. Nalazoo 1,953 6. Ktc 1,477 7. KellyPad 1,150 8. Faye 1,142 9. Coastcat 1,031 10. SDO 1,025 Boyz and Girlz, this brings us to the conclusion of the 10th Silver Yoke and we award the cup to JMAC! Jmac joins the ranks of Silver Yoke winners with the 7th highest point total (121). Gus holds the record with 186 points in SY 4. MindTornado had second in his sights and with his second win in a row, snatches it from 'Zoo, who finishes in third. How those two can works together to present the race results and yet go into head-to-head competition on the runway is a mystery. Harmoniamundi was not that far out of contention. Boyz and Girlz, there are only two more chances to become an SY Champion. Rev up those engines and get your fling on. The standings for the final race of the 10th Silver Yoke and for race 8 of 23 for the Golden Sequoia: 1. JMAC 121 (1,106) 2. MindTornado 111 (3, 86) 3. Nalazoo 99 (2,89) 4. Harmoniamundi 89 (4,71) 5. ktc 69 (5, 61) 6. KellyPad 45 (6, 39) 7. Gus 37 (7, 37) 8. Scaramanga 29 (8, 29) 9. Faye 28 (n/a, 24) 10. Clint981 28 (n/a, 16) Faye continues to add slowly to her score, making 'Zoo and Gus work to catch her. 'Zoo and Gus are still playing leap frog, with 'Zoo taking back second. Gus and 'Zoo's points are so close, this will be a battle to the end. MindTornado has SuperPenguin's spot in his sights. As the Minster of Mathematical Mysteries, has he figured out statistically what his chances are of breaking into the top three? Boyz and Girlz, this could prove for some interesting races as the start of the Concorde Ceremony in London is proving to be. The current Concorde standings: 1. Faye 769 (1, 765) 2. Nalazoo 679 (3, 669) 3. Gus 670 (2, 670) 4. SuperPenguin 420 (4, 420) 5. MindTornado 411 (6, 386) 6. ktc 399 (5, 391) 7. Ump 377 (7, 377) 8. SilghtlyNorth 367 (8, 367) 9. JMAC 342 (9, 327) 10. Vic 298 (10, 298) Just out if view, Harmoniamundi has been moving up and currently sits in 14th with 230 points. See you in the skies! Cheers! M'Z
Yes, was tired. Came home from my nephew's engagement party with a headache. Rested for about an hour, headache gone...ah, back to flinging planes. Then, was wide awake! I have screenshots of the finish, I can upload them in the morning - it's 3am here...time for bed.
Was trying to get you to stop flinging since I couldn't keep up. Didn't work. Congrats on the win and another Super Hero result. That's the third time (out of thee) that we've gone head to head and I came in second.
Excellent battle in London Zoo and Tornado!! All the rest of us could do was watch and try to sneak an occasional plane into the crowded pattern. I finally just pulled up a stool at Penguin's saloon and looked at the numbers from last time we did London way back in February for the exact same prize. Six of the top ten were the same and Zoo was fourteenth back in event thirty. Here's the comparison. Feb. Jobs/Finish Sep. Jobs/Finish Zoo. 2787-14th. 15560-1st. Vic. 4952-7th. 3438-4th. Faye. 5639-6th. 3193-5th. Jmac. 10090-2nd. 3001-6th. Gus. 15017-1st. 1989-7th. Ktc24. 4236-10th. 1685-8th. Penguin. 7812-3rd. 1560-9th. The above seven did an average of 7219 jobs in Feb and 4346 jobs this time. I think running the saloon has taken a lot of penguin's time while Miss Zoo was able to buy and run a newspaper, go house hunting, carry on with Shep at the saloon and still increase her airline's passenger load by more than 500%. One can only imagine what we would have done had Tornado had his airline up and running at full strength back then.
