Doh! I meant to get another screenshot closer to Goose Bay finish but got bogged down with work. Hope someone got a screenshot. I've been so busy lately ... now I'm 2 events behind ... still have Miami jobs to deliver. LOL
WOW. Four hours in and Gus is already over a thousand jobs. It's good to see some of the old guard back in the saddle again.
It'll be interesting to see what high numbers are reached for the Shanghai event. I've entered the Goose Bay results into the spreadsheet. Also added a Miami sheet and entered in the Miami finish results with best guesses from various posts/screenshots below (or above, depending on how your forum is configured ) with Top 10 results taken from screenshots at 45min and 2hr. We still need #9 and #10. Tornado had 642 jobs at 1hr 20min. Code: harmoniamundi 1 4556 2H juliomoralesm 2 4119 45M JMAC 362436 3 3777 2H KellyPad 4 2270 45M Nalazoo 5 1553 45M COASTCAT 6 1224 45M ktc24 7 1180 45M clint981 8 954 45M Noticed someone added an Events Sheet that also tracks the Top Prize for the events. I added a Date column, so it can be easily resorted if rows get out of order. Also updated the PP MOFO HQ post (linked in my sig below) with all the MOFO results posted up to now. I just need to add the link to the Bangkok MOFO results. It is eluding me at the moment. Please let me know if you stumble upon it. Is it my imagination that the forum got a face lift? Something looks different.
There were 5 planes passing by on their way to Moffett Field today when my daughter & I got out of our car this afternoon. She looked up and remarked, "They look like your planes in Pocket Planes, the "SK" planes." Yeah, they did resemble Sea Knights (which I name SK# in the game).
Faye & Zoo, I entered the results already in the MOFO Rankings and sent Zoo the updated standings for Miami a couple days ago. I was 9th and an unknown (to me) was 10th. Zoo - did you get the PM with the results? Thanks JMAC for getting the screenshot of Goose Bay. I will update the MOFO early tomorrow morning.
Cool, didn't know that. I added a Miami sheet because there wasn't one and plugged in those numbers. Hopefully they match yours.
I'm currently in Tucson, AZ...hubby and I are considering moving here...house hunting is seriously interfering with my ability to fling planes...LOL. I'll get to the news as soon as I can
@Faye - yes, the forums had a Facelift, they were down briefly the other day. @Faye - thanks for adding the dates to the events sheet, good idea. I wanted to know the events for the M S&H, and the PP's wiki isn't updated in a timely manner - we're more on top of things...LOL. Bangkok eh? Watch the next news for more details. @MT - my mathematical wizard extraordinaire, yes, got the Miami and Goose away results...think a double issue is in order to get caught up....or at least caught up in the newsletter, as catching you on the leader board upis going to be difficult - going for a new record? Now...if I can only figure out how to copy & paste from a Google drive document on my iPad. I've learned to type up the M S&H in there, as a few times I've lost *gasp* the newsletter when I've gone to a different tab to look at standings. Ok, *gasp* may not be strong enough...LOL. @Gus - yeah!!! So nice to see you in the cockpit again.
MOFO - the missing Bangkok Results There was a big uproar in the M S&H offices as Miss 'Zoo searched high and low for the Bangkok edition. Paper cuts ensued as stacks of articles were searched. The little mice were scurrying across screens as pages after pages of information was scanned. In the end, the Bangkok results edition must be off in the weeds, pretty much where many golfers from the golf tournament ended up as well. Many little planes were tucked away in the hanger as the big boys came out to play. And, similarly, many new pilots came out strong while veteran pilots took it easy. Harmoniamundi scored a big victory by taking 7,177 golfers and their equipment to Bangkok. Harmonia is quickly becoming a regular in the top 10 and can seriously be a contender in the next Silver Yoke race. A new face in TA1-vile, Zekeamf, had a strong second with 6,237 jobs holding off JMAC who finished in third with 5,409 jobs. Behind them, Faye finished in a far-off fourth. With JCruz close behind. The Whispering Wind, 'Zoo, KellyPad, SDO and Ktc filled out the field. The final results were: 1. Harmoniamundi 7,177 2. Zekeamf 6,237 3. JMAC 5,409 4. Faye 3,167 5. JCruz 3,002 6. MindTornado 2,523 7. Nalazoo 2,103 8. KellyPad 1,765 9. SDO62 1613 10. Ktc24 1,500 While reporting the 10th Silver Yoke and 4th Golden Sequoia cup standings after Bangkok woild be fun...at this point, those standings are obsolete since there are new standings to report from the more recent events. Boyz and Girlz, stay tuned! Cheers! M'Z
WOW!!!! Thanks for the screenshot, entered the numbers into the spreadsheet. In the past, interim job counts have sometimes helped in filling in the blanks for the final results. I just discovered something new in PP. I usually have sound turned off, but turned it back on a little while ago. Sent a plane and heard a new sound I had never heard before... Then noticed I got one of those upside down planes. Can't believe it took over a year for me to realize there was a special sound for upside down planes. Thanks for the report. That's weird, I don't even remember flinging that many planes to Bangkok. LOL
I guess we have a new TA1 (maybe world!) record with Tornado over 30k jobs Don't miss the top 10 screenshot guys&gals
Did a little searching and found Pope's post about his 25K. I was surprised that he was concerned that there would be skeptics on how it was accomplished. But in case there are any out there now, I figured I'd post my strategy. I don't have interesting tidbits like his post did because I don't analyze the game or my strategies that much. *Warning this might also turn into a wall of text also. If that's not your thing, STOP reading now * I should not even call them my strategies because most of what I do I learned from TA1. I used 49 slots, 37 Cyclone Ms and 12 Seqs Ms. I put seven each in Manilla, Guagzhou, X'ian, Bejing, Shenyang, Seoul, and Tokyo. I started each job refresh with Manilla and always worked clockwise to Tokyo. Between each job refresh, I opened and closed Nagasaki, Vladivostok, and Sendai. So every four minutes I had 28 planes flying to Shanghai and back. It didn't matter if they were full - when I got to each plane it went. I boosted whenever needed - mostly the Seqs and Cyclones coming back to Tokyo and Manilla. I ignored all bux jobs except those for Shanghai, but actually finished the event with +350 bux. So where Pope fine tuned his approach throughout, I changed once in the beginning and then grinded it out. I humbly submit that with this set up with a Class Three city near many other Class Threes 75K+ jobs is possible. Here's why: I didn't play as much as you would think. For the three events I won when I first joined TA1, I played off an on (mostly on) for eight hours each day. A generous estimate would be 15 - 16 hours total for Shanghai. I spent most of my time on Wednesday with a horrible set up of 12 class three cities with four planes each. It wasn't until late that I switched to seven planes in seven cities. Lastly, I think six cities with eight planes would have been a better set up. Many times I put the game down to allow my planes to catch up so I wouldn't have to boost every plane. I'd also like to try five cities with ten planes. I'm not smart enough to figure out in my head which one would be the fastest; I'm much more of a trial and error guy. I wanted to put up a big number to potentially draw a few of the big hitters out of retirement. Not sure why that even matters to me, but I enjoy the competitive aspect of PP and know it's days are numbered once PT comes out (how's that for a run on sentence?). I especially hope Pope comes back since he won every event that he went for. At least I think I read that in one of Merlion's editions. I only got to compete against him once and he just toyed with me. I guess (like I've said before) I just wish I would have been around in TA1's heyday. Looking forward to the next event. Going for another superhero finish!!!
