    Thks a bunch Zoo :)

Just passing by, no time for PP, sorry guys! Vacation and bought XCom on the iPad.
This game is incredible, as good as the great XCom from the 90's I enjoyed so much. If you're into Turn based combat and deep strategy, it's a no brainer, and an impressive port from current gen consoles. ;)

Edit : did a few jobs for Al Fashir, I'm 32nd and last for TA1

    Aberdeen, Scotland
New event - Prison Break (so cargo only) in Bangalore (a class 3 airport in India); take in 50 Suspicious Cakes and you get 35 Bux.

    So my PP hiatus continues.

In an effort to continue the internal competition that has become more significant to TA1 than the actual competition with other PP crews, I'm using Merlion's post as reference.

I went back through the archives and deducted the following:

Silver Yoke 7 started in HONOLULU, finished in WASHINGTON D.C., and lasted nine events.

Silver Yoke 8 started in ZANZIBAR, finished in BERGEN, and last nine events.

Silver Yoke 9 started in LAS VEGAS, finishes in BANGALORE, and will last eight events.

If the above is correct, then BANGALORE is the last event for the 3rd Golden Sequoia.

'Zoo did such an amazing job in her first edition that I'm more than motivated to update the MOFO Standings spreadsheet as long as the Stayer completes the SUCK.

Looking for any tips you guys have currently level 15 and I have a long route of LA-NY-London-Tehran-Shainghai

I only have 4 planes that can make the trip but isn't it more efficient to have 7/8 airports close and do quick trips? I get about 3k on the long route but takes like an hour doesn't seem very quick to level.

Hi all, I am new to Pocket planes, am at level 11, do not even have a class 3 airport yet and only 3 class 2's and I am thinking that I wasted my time getting a class 2 plane at this level

@MindTornado - thank you for your diligence & help in unraveling the spreadsheet.

@Faye - thank you for always getting screen shots & helping to put numbers in the SUCK. Oh...and you enabler...lol - I installed Tribez, it's addicting! I out it on my iPad so it doesn't interfere with plane flinging;)

@ the newbies - welcome! So nice to see new faces to being fresh life into, our little competition.

A couple of randomness thoughts going forward in the SUCK:
    • Thinking we need to add our own list of events. I went to look up this info for the newspaper & the wiki is like 3 events behind.
    • Maybe as part of the list of events, we can also put what race in the SY, GS and CC?

Thank you all for your words of encouragement - both public & private. I appreciate YOU & look forward to keeping our little town flinging.

    It's upside down...

Sent one of my planes off on a trip yesterday and this happened!

The pilot and passengers look a bit shocked...

They don't want the nail files to fall out of the cakes.

On another note, we are 1750 jobs out of third place and DCW3H is still leading with 3544 suspicious sweets delivered. If he was a one man crew, he'd be in sixth place in the world rankings.

    MOFO after Al Fashir

The dry spell continues in the little sleepy TA1ville. What's it going to take to put pilots back in the cockpit? A full plane event with mystery parts for say a Mapple. Then, at the newly refurbished saloon, Penguin would serve Mapple Mixers. Until then, TA1 has taken a more relaxed approach to flinging planes and is happy to give up their long held 2nd place on the Global Leaderboard to other more active crews.

With this being the third Class 1 event in a row, many Sea Knights and Roos found themsleves hangared for much needed TLC. Still others made their way across the globe one more time. Going from the views of the Northern Lights in Nome to the dry desert of Al Fashir.

A race that started with 'Zoo taking an early lead, wound up in a hotly contested race at the finish. Has the TA1ville flight crew gone to a more competitive wait & see approach? A strategy of checking to see if the leader has gone missing and to sneak up at the end? Oh, we digress into conspiracies since our resident conspiracy theorist has moved away.

Without further ado, Faye the Flinger proved she can make the jump in the final hours, overtaking 'Zoo. The Wily Whirler also managed to squeek in front of 'Zoo with just 53 more jobs! That's just 12 Sea Knight's difference!

Sdo is now becoming a regular in the top 10 and with a bit more effort could find a podium position along with Ktc and dcw - boy, that's a lot of TLAs.

Kellypad is a newcomer to our neck of the woods. Hopefully the welcome wagon will be sent her way via Game Center postal delivery.

Ump and North return from their long vacations.

The final recorded finish for Al Fashir:
    1. Faye 2373
    2. MInd Tornado 1964
    3. Nalazoo 1911
    4. Sdo 1621
    5. ktc 1572
    6. dcw 1407
    7. kellypad (couldn't find her on the MOFO) 1070
    8. Coastcat 847
    9. Ump 836
    10. North 824

With Bangalore being the last race for the 9the Silver Yoke, as determined by our Wizard of the Numbers, the podium remains undecided. With 25 points going to the winner, Yitz needs to watch his back, as it looks like 'Zoo has cleared a place on her mantle for this illustrious trophy.

Further down, there are many contenders for the 3rd place on the podium. A single point separates Harmonia and Faye.

Theoretically, the Mind Tornado could play mind tricks and prevent 'Zoo from winning if he himself takes the win and 25 points, catapulting him into 3rd, only if 'Zoo falls asleep and doesn't put up points. Then, there's Faye who may be acquiring cargo only planes. Faye could have a 5th place finish for 10 points and tie the Wily Whirler, or she can finish higher and keep keep the Windy One off the podium. Boys & girls this is going to ignite passion into the race.

The current standings for the 9th Sivler Yoke:
    1. Yitz 103 (1,103)
    2. Nalazoo 93 (2,78)
    3. Harmonia 66 (3,66)
    4. Faye 65 (5,40)
    5. Mind Tornado 50 (7,32)
    6. Gus 41 (4, 41)
    7. Ump 36 (6, 34)
    8. 4ndrew 30 (8, 30)
    9. ktc 23 (?, 13)
    10. Vic 21 (9, 21)

That brings us to see where we currently stand in the 3rd Golden Sequoia Cup, another race that ends in Bangalore.

We can safely congratulate 'Zoo, as she's sewn up the first place position and no matter what the Wily Whirler does to unravel her during this race, the 3rd Golden Sequoia cup will find a home on her mantle.

Behind 'Zoo, only 8 points separate Mind Tornado and Faye. Who will finish in 2nd, that remains to be seen.

Consistency is key. Take a few flights off and your position is treatened. Just ask Poephatz, an early force to be reckoned with and now chasing butterflies. Yitz gave it a run for the money and looks like he'll be a contender in the future.

The current 3rd Golden Sequoia Cup Standings:
    1. Nalazoo 311 (1,296)
    2. Mind Tornado 282 (2,264)
    3. Faye 274 (3,249)
    4. Pope 150 (4,150)
    5. Yitz 148 (5,148)
    6. ktc 136 (7,126)
    7. jmac 136 (6,136)
    8. sp 113 (8,113)
    9. Gus 98 (9,98)
    10. 4ndrew 95 (10,95)

The cup of cups, the coupe d'grace, the one that awards the persistent, the Concorde Platinum Cup is starting to show signs of a breakaway at the top. Faye the ever faithful Flinger consistently scores substantial points to strengthen her lead. Can Gus, the Swarm Master overtake her? Only if he stops buying up real estate for his new railroad and puts his swarm in the race. 'Zoo continues to climb and Gus may be victim to her persistence.

It's not over until all the planes have landed and the points counted. Until then, the current Concorde Platinum Cup standings:
    1. Faye 737 (1,712)
    2. Gus 624 (2,624)
    3. Nalazoo 565 (3,550)
    4. SuperPenguin 400 (4,400)
    5. Ump 371 (5,371)
    6. North 367 (6,367)
    7. ktc 322 (7,322)
    8. Vic 298 (8,298)
    9. nokitano 287 (9,287)
    10 Mind Tornado 282 (10,264)

Watch the Leaderboard to follow the exciting finish of the 9th Silver Yoke race. Show your support for your favorite pilot by coming out and joining the race.

    Cheers!

Very nice writeup Zoo, thank you so much! <3

I'm just not feeling it with Bangalore. Hardly touched Pocket Planes yesterday. Actually, I spent all day wrestling with computer issues so didn't have time even if I wanted to. Sigh, I just want the thing to work, not spend 18 hours wrestling with the thing. And it is still not working. (grumble) maybe I should fling some planes instead, at least I'd see progress in something. :p

A little over five hours left and DCW3H has single handily put TA1 in second place posting 9292 jobs so far. Maybe Shep can find out his amazing strategy...
