When I headed off to Prayer Shawl Ministry, I was in 2nd. Faye leap-frogged me at the end. Congrats Faye!
I was in 3rd place when I woke up this morning, that's SO VERY FAR DOWN the leaderboard for 4 hours before event end.
And just five needed for the whole plane? So I'll get those five done quickly, then spend the rest of the event looking for Mystery Parts (hopefully, more engines: after March's event for Starships, I ended up with 7x Bodies and 7x Controls, but only one Engine).
I've only stumbled across one "mystery part" for any of the available Global Events I've done... Are they more likely to spawn in airports farther away from the event location or does it matter?
Seems to be pretty random. One event I can't remember which one the majority of my mystery parts (were talking 15 of 20 parts) came from the two closest airports to the event but then on others I have had the majority come from the far side of my PP world. However for most of the mystery parts events the spread is fairly even across the whole of my network with no one airport or area standing out with extra jobs. Hell of a long winded way of basically saying no it doesn't matter
I will say one thing, in addition to the good advice you've gotten already, watch for airports getting "hot". I do "parts sitting" where I always have a plane on the Tarmac, and so if you get a part at an airport, make sure to have a plane sitting there for the next cycle. Frequently I will get parts two or three cycles in a row, and then not again for 24 hours from that particular airport.
San Diego at 2D 11H ... I'm ready to give up on San Diego, the frequent landings causes the game on my iPhone to freeze up, it is worse than Las Vegas.
