I'm still trying to reach my personal goal of 8000 jobs in any flavor event. I'd make a lot more progress if I didn't split my time between Pocket Planes and Mafia Wars. Mafia Wars is a full time job. Oh wait, that describes Pocket Planes too.
We've got another dull Bux-only event: this time, it's a Science Fair in Prague. Since there's five Class 3 airports within an un-upgraded Kangaroo flight (Cairo, Istanbul, London, Moscow and Paris), we could be seeing more high scores. (Also, with things like this, it's no wonder I've lost all enthusiasm in playing PP anymore.)
I did the Vladivlastock Event only because I had the airport open already. Totally not into this Prague one. Concorde events come baaaack!
On holiday, it would seem - we haven't had one since mid-May, and Monday is July 1st. Not just that - Blimps as well (we have yet to get either the full plane - or a part of it - since October!). I've also just worked this out - of the last nine events (Prague included), eight have been Bux-only jobs. (The remaining one was for a part of a worthless plane and Bux.)
I'm number 9 for vlade divats. And, ouya and pocket planes...guess my prediction came true from about 3 months ago.
I wish they would come up with a new transport and passenger liner of 30+ seats/cargo spots. Call it the Dreamliner.
Is the multi-quote button behaving oddly? Or is it just on my end? Oh my, how many job refreshes would it take to fill that up? It can take 6 (or more!) job refreshes to fill up my Cloudliners. I have a love & hate relationship with my Clouds. Hope the Dreamliner comes in an even P/C split. This one might take more than the 3.5 day event time to fill up. I suppose it can be done with layover feeders, but it's been a long time since I played that way.
Enjoy your vacation! Interesting, never noticed that. LOL {goes to look for other -ito cities} I think those are the only two cities ending in -ito.
Reporter: This is Shep Hancock, live at The Great Mouse House in Orlando, Florida where we find Miss 'Zoo celebrating in the lounge. Reporter: Miss 'Zoo...it looks like you and your friends are kicking up your heels and having fun. What are you celebrating? Miss 'Zoo: I'm thrilled that i made it into the Top 10 for Vladivostok. I never expected to stay on the leader board. Reporter: This looks like more than just that. Now tell us, exactly what is going on here. Miss 'Zoo: Shep...this is like a huge family gathering...we meet once a year and we're doing it at the "happiest place on Earth!" We meet, talk, create, dance, laugh, and so much more. Reporter: How do you expect to fare in the Prague event? Miss 'Zoo: I hope to be able to send a rag-tag skeleton fleet to deliver some jobs to Prague. My schedule the next few days is pretty packed. I have a few hoirs available tomorrow night...oh no, wait - I have a Twilight Pass to use...hmmmm, which park shall I go to? Reporter: If it were me, the Mouse House would be my destination. So, you're okay with not making the leader board? What a out your dreams of three trophies on the mantle? Miss 'Zoo: There's always the possibility of other races yet to appear...and with interest in Prague waning, who knows what the entry level will be for the Top 10. It remains to be seen. Reporter: Well there you have it. This is Shep Hancock at The Great Mouse House. as the camera pans away...we hear... Miss 'Zoo: The Mouse House...it would be so much better to take a friend with me...Shep, are you going to be around tomorrow? Reporter: Well....ummmm, pauses to search for just the right word...I'm sure if we add in a trip to Space Mountain I could manage it. Miss 'Zoo: That's great! It's a plan then!
VladiMOFOs Hello boyz and girlz! Today is Alliteration Day! Follow your favourite rag into the vindictive vastness of Vladivostok, and marvel about the machinations of the MOFOs. From the jungles of Ecuador to the Siberian tundras, the TA1 crew swiftly moved their fleet to satisfy NimbleBit's whims. Oh, the harsh life of a pilot in the TA1 crew. The Eastern Vlad is not a place where, say, many tourists go. Very little grows there so it's dusty, and pollution hangs heavy in the air. It is in these unfavourable circumstances that MindTornado proved strongest. His whirlybirds hauled 7,683 jobs to Vlad, a stiff one and a half thousand more than the next highest flier, Andrew G. Faye the Stayer took third place and completed the podium, putting a bit more than 5,500 jobs to her name. Fourth place was claimed by none other than good old Nokitano, who doesn't score often, but when he does, doesn't settle for less than 4th place these days. Whereas Nokitano beat the 5k limit, Ktc stayed just under that, taking the fifth. (Place, that is.) Nalazoo, with the Mouse on her mind, delivered 3,743 jobs for sixth place, pocketed 8 points and called it a day. Seventh through ninth were closely fought by Ump, Ina and Icon, in that order. kelly J brought up the rear and set the bar for entry at 1,273 jobs. All of this means SY8 is shaping up to become an exciting race, because look what's happening: 1st: Nalazoo, 76 points incl. two 1sts (1st, 68); 2nd: Mindtornado, 76 incl. one 1st (3rd, 51); 3rd: Faye, 67 (2nd, 52); 4th: 4ndrew_g, 45 (4th, 27); 5th: Ktc, 26 (6th, 16); 6th: Stogey Jerry, 24 (5th, 24); 7th: Ump, 22 (7th, 16); 8th: Thisisina, 19 (8th, 15); 9th: Icon, 14 (9th, 12); 10th: Nokitano, 12 (-, 0). The Whimsy Whirler's wistful win brings him alongside Zealous 'Zoo, who only hangs on to first place on account of having one more win to her name. Both have 76 points now, and frankly we at the MOFO Statesman & Herald have no way to predict what will happen next. Which means that y'all have to stay tuned and renew your subscriptions, and that's the way it is. Faye had to hand back the second place she'd just conquered and now sits with 67 points in third. She will have to watch her back, as Andrew G is steadily climbing the ranks. He's been averaging 15 points in the last three events, and he means business. Faye cannot sit still. Fortunately she has no history of doing that, so Andrew still has his work cut out for him. Which means there'll be a nice fight for 3rd place as well! As we said before, SY8 is shaping up nicely. Behind Andrew Ktc handily uses Stogey Jerry's family holiday to pop into 5th, causing our resident cigar lover to drop yet another place. Only two points, Stogey Man, so better step on it when you're back from your break! Meanwhile, Ump's steadily building his position. Still in 7th, he's now closed in two points behind Stogey Jerry and four behind Ktc. And only three points behind him sits ThisisgoingtobeIna, who's been a points scorer in all four races of this Cup. In other words, yet another showdown is happening in the fight for fifth! Icon, who for once finished ninth, leaving two of his usual four points on the table, holds steady in ninth place for the Cup as well. And Nokitano's 12 points propel him from zero right into 10th, which puts him in exactly the right place for a conspiracy against Icon. Conspiracy with whom? (It takes two to tango and three to conspire, as we all know.) Well, with Gus for instance, who sits in 11th with 11. Or with Boomer, who has 8 in 12th. Don't want to make you nervous, Icon (although it helps when shaking cocktails, of course), but keep looking over your shoulder! Behind the paranoid patron's pursuers Kelly and Zafir, with 3 and 1 respectively, bring the total number of points scorers in SY8 to 14. Was race number 13 an unlucky number for the 3rd Golden Sequoia? Let's see: 1st: Mindtornado, 169 (3rd, 144); 2nd: Nalazoo, 160 (1st, 152); 3rd: Faye, 154 (4th, 139); 4th: Popehatz, 150 (2nd, 150); 5th: Jmac, 105 (5th, 105); 6th: Ktc24, 91 (6th, 81); 7th: Penguin, 73 (7th, 73); 8th: XGarriga, 62 (8th, 62); 9th: Andrew G, 45 (11th, 27); 10th: Nokitano, 42 (9th, 30). Thanks to his fourth win in this Cup the Thrifty Tornado thunders to the top. 'Zoo drops to second but has the Twister still firmly in her crosshairs. Trust us, 'Tornado, she's still hell bent on decorating her mantelpiece! 'Zoo, however, will have to work hard for her money. A Hurricane In A Hurry is hard to beat. We of the M S & H will follow this closely. Faye's 15 points get her back into third, while the Popester drops further, now to fourth. We're all waiting for the whole plane event, which according to His Hatted Holiness is the only thing that will get him back in the game. C'mon, NimbleBit! How's that Blimpfest coming along? Jmac stays put in 5th, but Ktc seems to've taken our little jab in the Quito report seriously, having now moved ten points closer to the Motionless Macster. That's another 14 points to go, but at this rate the deed will be done in two races instead of twelve. Way to go, Ktc! Penguin and XGarriga are frozen in 7th and 8th, but in 9th Andrew G is racing ahead. He swings into the Top Ten from 11th, and is now 17 points behind the polar bird. One more second place will get him into 7th, with another 13 races to go in this Cup. Andrew is definitely to be KIV-ed, as they say in Swinging Singapore. Andrew's 18 points blow him past both Nokitano and Stogey Jerry. But where Cigar Man is out for a smoke, Nokitano grabs another 12 points, creating a 13 points gap behind him. His Top Ten position now looks unthreatened, at least for a while. Good move, Noke! In fact, Stogey Jerry now shares his 29 points with Ina, with Vic in 13th, four points behind him, and Ump another two. Snowbird sits in 15th with 19 points, closely followed by Scaramanga, Green Paper, the Icon, Suvinirk, North, Gus, Tater, and Chewbacca. Five points, 16 down to 11, are all that separates these eight people, so there's plenty of room for some more permutations at the bottom end of GS3. Whew. So after all this, what has the ole' Concorde on offer? 1st: Faye Valentine, 617 (1st, 602); 2nd: Gus, 537 1/3 (2nd, 537 1/3); 3rd: Nalazoo, 414 1/3 (3rd, 406 1/3); 4th: North, 366 (4th, 366); 5th: Penguin, 360 1/3 (5th, 360 1/3); 6th: Number1Ump, 310 (6th, 304); 7th: Nokitano, 287 (7th, 275); 8th: Ktc24, 277 (9th, 267); 9th: Vic, 267 (8th, 267); 10th: Snowbird, 240 (10th, 240). Faye still rules, and strengthens her lead. 'Zoo is steadily closing in on Gus but still has some way to go. North and Penguin are frozen in place, with Ump a small distance behind them, adding half a dozen points at a time. Nokitano and Ktc are keeping up with Ump's pace, so no changes in 7th and 8th either. And behind these two the Flatlining Sheriff and the Sleeping Snowbird are safely ensconced in 9th and 10th, with little fear from those behind them. Jmac sits in 11th, 50 points behind the 'Bird, with Castlepage motionless at 6 points' distance. More ominously, behind him in 13th sits Popehatz, a 175 points volcano that can erupt any moment. The Twilight Twister sits in 15th, with 169 points. He seems poised to overtake Tater, with 170 in 14th, and possibly the Popester too, for now. In other words, nothing much happening right now, but lots of promise for the future. Funny, that used to be the motto of the MOFO Statesman, before it merged with the TA1ville Herald, becoming the media behemoth it is now. Small world. But not for our fearless fliers. While we write this, the fight has been taken to beautiful Prague, a lovely city in Central Europe with echos of the Cold War bouncing between its Habsburg era brownstones. If you happen across some good memories, pay attention. Some of these might be Merlion's Cheers, M.
Every time I see one of my apps needs updated and I open it up and see that it's not pocket planes a little part of me dies...
