    Thanks for the input, "good" to know that not only my phone is phucked up. I guess I should upgrade when the new iphone comes out later this year :p (well, not only because of PP but it would be good justification).

    The PP help thing you mentioned popping up is also happening to me on a regular basis. The thing is, that on normal game screens (world map, airport view, fleet view there is this little (i) button which brings up in-game help. However, the [x] button for the popup notifications (new jobs, etc) appears exactly on the same spot, and since my device is laggy as hell, the event when you tap the [x] for the popup registers later than when the popup automatically disappears so you end up tapping the help button.

    I'm now checking out Popehatz's bux strategy, but on a smaller scale, looks good so far. Also, I've checked out the bux calculators you mentioned, really neat!

    Btw, I finished #10 (gc Zafir47 ) in the Quito event. I could've maintained 7th position (which I was when I went to sleep at 2am my time (GMT+1)) but with 6 hours left and me in bed asleep I guess its acceptable that I ended up only in tenth :p I've got a lot of work now so it'll be a miracle if I can get 1000 jobs done this event.

    Hi folks. I've been having a break from regular PP'ing for a couple of months (Pixel People and Real Racing 3 have been using up more of my free time), but I've fired it back up again in the last few days.

    I've set myself a goal of reaching 1000 jobs for each event (or as many events as possible before I tire of it!). Prior to this new push, my highest number of completed jobs for a single event was just 180. My top event now is 601 with the recent Military Exercise in Cairo.

    As we speak, I'm throwing a few Mapples at Chick-Con in Teresina, having not had any jobs for that event at all. Each time I scroll quickly past the Teresina jobs while loading other planes, I read it as "Thisisina". :)

    That is too funny relharn you sound like me...I couldn't tell you the name of the current world event city, because all I've been saying the last 2 days is vlade divats the old center for the lakers. Ps, I probably just slaughtered the spelling of his name. To lazy to look it up.

    It would depend on the event. Perhaps if all our guns came out for an event in a remote area we may have a chance if it was a bux only event. But we would need all of our big guns.

    Maybe you should get out of the saloon and back to your desk and typewriter funny guy! Getting drunk and sleeping on the job is just not going to cut it. We work to hard to see our names in print! :)

    I think the next event should be HOCKEY PARADE IN CHICAGO. I really thought that the Bruins were gonna push it to game 7. The Hawks still would have won as they are obviously the best team, but this was an epic series with the two best teams in the NHL. Now I already called in sick for tomorrow and it looks like I will be sick on Friday when we have the parade. It's funny that most of the celebration is in wrigleyville as the Cubs are on an oh for one o five streak.

    MOFOs de Ecuador: Quito o doblo

    After a brief spell in colder climes it was back to the equatorial jungles again. On Sunday the TA1 crew went ahead of Edward Snowden to scout out Mariscal Sucre International Airport and, as it turned out, fly in a moderate number of jobs.

    Quito turned out to be one of these 'Faye Runaway' places. To remind you, dear readers, these are faraway Class 1 airports that end with '-ito' which means they're won by Faye. Lobito was the previous one.

    It was a sneaky victory, though. Faye took the lead at the very end, out of Nalazoo's sleepy hands, and delivered 4,205 jobs to Sucre. She pipped 'Zoo by 85 jobs. 'Zoo in turn stayed almost 700 jobs ahead of Mindtornado, who is becoming an increasingly absent minded Tornado. Nevertheless, he took third and completed the podium. Congrats all!

    Andrew G delivered another strong performance and took 4th with 2,909 jobs, 500 behind the Twister; Comeback kid Ump came in 5th with slightly over 2,000; Stogey Jerry followed suit with 1,944; and Ina took 7th right behind Cigar Man.

    Completing the Top Ten, Icon is seriously getting used to 8th place; Ktc takes 9th; and Zafir brings up the rear, setting the entry bar at 1,355 jobs.

    Without further ado we reveal the SY8 standings, after 3 races:

    1st: Nalazoo, 68 points (1st, 50);
    2nd: Faye, 52 (3rd, 27);
    3rd: Mindtornado, 51 (2nd, 36);
    4th: 4ndrew_g, 27 (5th, 15);
    5th: Stogey Jerry, 24 (4th, 16);
    6th: Ktc, 16 incl. one 4th (6th, 14);
    7th: Ump, 16 incl. one 6th (11th, 6);
    8th: Thisisina, 15 (8th, 9);
    9th: Icon, 12 (10th, 8);
    10th: Gus, 11 (7th, 11).

    'Zoo is still firmly enthroned and, naps notwithstanding, seems determined to take the 8th Golden Yoke home. Faye's win gets her second place, a marginal 1 point in front of Mindtornado, who seems to be winding down a little. (Oops, I did it again. Sorry.)

    Andrew G takes 4th place from Stogey Jerry. Andrew's a promising newcomer, with the ability to take higher spots in future. 'Zoo, Faye and Twister, beware! I would also have said "Jerry, beware!" but alas, it's too late for that. At least, for now. We have still six races to go!

    Ktc stays in 6th and shares his 16 points with Ump, who's definitely having some plans of his own lately. Will we see more of this? The suspense is building, people!

    Ina defends 8th, just a point behind Ump, and Icon and Gus complete today's Top Ten with 12 and 11. Icon even wins a place, thanks to his consistency in taking 8th in the last three events.

    Boomer drops out of the Top Ten and now sits in 11th with the 8 points she scored in Spokane; Kelly in 12th with 2 points; and Zafir joins the ranks with 1 point, bringing the total number of SY8 points scorers to 13.

    After a cool dozen races, GS3 looks like this:

    1st: Nalazoo, 152 (2nd, 134);
    2nd: Popehatz, 150 (1st, 150);
    3rd: Mindtornado, 144 (3rd, 129);
    4th: Faye, 139 (4th, 114);
    5th: Jmac, 105 (5th, 105);
    6th: Ktc24, 81 (6th, 79);
    7th: Penguin, 73 (7th, 73);
    8th: XGarriga, 62 (8th, 62);
    9th: Nokitano, 30 (9th, 30);
    10th: Stogey Jerry, 29 (11th, 21).

    'Zoo now rules both cups. Or more briefly, 'Zoo rules! She dethrones Popehatz, and while she's at it, keeps the Dangerous Dizzier behind her as well. Keep in mind she overtook 'Tornado to take 2nd only in last event, and now she's storming to 1st in Quito. That's not Quito for 'Zoo, but Doblo, as if it were.

    Faye's win now brings her within eyesight of Mindtornado, and look how closely grouped the numbers 1 through 4 in this Cup now are! That's going to be one Hell of a fight, and that's a promise. Stay tuned, folks!

    As exciting as the foremost foursome are, as dull is the group of five right behind them. Virtually nothing happens in places 5 through 9, with the exception of Ktc gaining two points and edging closer to Jmac. At this rate you'll pass Jmac in another 13 races, Ktc! Keep going! *yawn*

    Stogey Jerry makes up for this by taking 10th from Vic the Flatlining Frenchman. Cograts with your entry into the ranks of the Fast and Famous, Jerry!

    Incidentally, Vic is also overtaken by Andrew G, who now sits in 11th with 27 points, and Ina, in 12th with 25. Don't sit on your 10th place laurels, Jerry! Look behind you, there's danger looming.

    Even Vic's newly found 13th place is under threat, by the way. Snowbird, 6 points behind him, may not've been active for a while but Ump, another 3 points down with 16, has been unleashed. Plus, his 16 points are shared with Scaramanga, who has been taking plenty of victims with his Golden Gun lately and might not have too much respect for Sheriffs.

    A final word for Icon in 19th with 12 points - that's five more 8th places and that's only if Jerry stops moving - and Gus, who occupies 21st with 11 points. Will we see either of you in the prestigious Top Ten? Keep goin', lads!

    As usual, we close off with the ole' Concorde:

    1st: Faye Valentine, 602 (1st, 577);
    2nd: Gus, 537 1/3 (2nd, 537 1/3);
    3rd: Nalazoo, 406 1/3 (3rd, 388 1/3);
    4th: North, 366 (4th, 366);
    5th: Penguin, 360 1/3 (5th, 360 1/3);
    6th: Number1Ump, 304 (6th, 294);
    7th: Nokitano, 275 (7th, 275);
    8th: Ktc24, 267 (9th, 265);
    9th: Vic, 267 (8th, 267);
    10th: Snowbird, 240 (10th, 240).

    Faye keeps putting distance between her and the former number one, Gus the Swarm Master. Will Flinging beat Swarming? It's starting to look like it. Mind you, we still have almost two score races to go.

    Same goes for 'Zoo. She may be 200 points behind Faye and 130 behind Gus, but there's still plenty of room for scoring points and a triple crown is still a possibility. You can just see 'Zoo dreaming of admiring the three trophies on her mantelpiece.

    A bit lower down, in 6th, Ump is consolidating his position. He's clearly not prepared to sink further in the ranking and may even be eyeing Penguin's 5th. Watch your back, polar bird! Or better still, put those famous swarms of yours back to work and go after North! This is called a com-pe-ti-tion, people! Go compete!

    And with that we of the MOFO Statesman & Herald leave y'all to scoring the next 101 points in faraway Vladivostok, or Vlad of the East. This is not an understatement. Boy, is this East. It's like Vlad the Impaler, but just a little bit farther away. Trust me, there's a reason Snowden is not going there. Good luck, all!

    Meanwhile Icon, please bring us some more of these TA1 Tasers.

    Cheers,
    M.

    It is not translatable. It's a pun on Quit or Double.

    Great writeup on the events of quito! :)

    I just started to catch up on the eastern vlad event but with one day to go and seeing that the entry level for <10 places is already at 2k, I'll sit out this one and possibly get a nicer going for the next event :p

    Also, haven't seen it mentioned yet, but I've found a nice way to quicken the way to unload/refill a (layover) plane. It works if the plane is not already full. You need to pick up one job from the top and than looooong click on unload and every other cargo is emptied. The gain in time is that you dont have to scroll down to the cargo that is loaded and click unload there. Obviously this method hastens my process of unloading/loading cargo because my phone sucks and scrolling is laggy as hell, but ymmv.

    I was half-expecting a Superbowl related event in New Orleans, a Champions League related one in London* or a First anniversary in San Diego, but we haven't had any. So I doubt that'll be an event.

    * - Why not? We had a Mothers' Day related one in Manchester in March (which surprised me, as I didn't know they knew we didn't have it in May).

Thinking i have a plane flight at 8:30am, need to be up at 5:00am...can I really stay up to watch overtime...silly me...going to sleep at that point is not even an option. No longer had my brain processed all of that...BOOYAH...we have another goal & the Black Hawks win!!!

    Oh those trophies would look great on my mantle :). How far will my rule slip while i spend the next event at the great Mouse House in Orlando, FL? Only the MS&H will tell...and tell it will.

    Oh...that reminds me, I need to send an Icon Saloon gift card to the editor for such a lovely write up - another one for the scrapbook album :)
