Well, I went off and collected 50,000+ bux and bought up sequoia and aeroeagle parts. There wasn't a lot to say about that process. I probably should have cashed in earlier (at about 20,000?) but the higher the pile of bux grew the harder it got. This event was the first one I really tried to get a top ten place. I ran about 20 sequoias, 10 aeroeagles and a rag-tag-and-bobtail collection of class 1's. It was easier than I expected to keep them flying, although I never seemed to get the balance of P v C quite right. Still, it was fun. It helped that I've been off work so far this week, but it's back to work tomorrow so I don't know about the next event.
I have no idea what place I was in by the end. Early this morning I was in 6th, slipped down to 9th, and don't know whether I was able to stay in the top ten. Darn work, getting in the way of Pocket Planes.
New event. What you have to do: Take 50 money transport related jobs to Quito in Ecuador by 8am London time on Sunday. What you will get: 30 Bux if your crew finishes in the Top 10.
Yep, you finished in the Top 10! Darn work ... I know that feeling ... but in my case, it was more like working my butt off to move up the leader board and then coming to a complete halt when the Little One wanted to play Candy Crush, Subway Surfers and some of her other games. Yep, you made it to the Podium! Leapfrogged me in the last minute.
Well...I for one think you should let your daughter play more! I had my daughter and 200 jobs on standby. She sat on "Faye the flinger" alert from 1-2 because my game stops updating after 2. However, I believe she would have sabotaged me, because she seemed way to excited when I told her that you and Nalazoo were both female and two of the best in the game. She still thinks Merlion is a girl because "guys just aren't that smart dad, duh". Oh well.
Spokane #12 onwards, with 1 1/2 - 2hrs to go. Not shown: Zekeamf in 20, 644 jobs; and Zafir47 in 21, 652 jobs. Cheers, M.
Thank you Faye for getting screenshots. My hubby & son wanted to go see Man of Steel at the iMax...I couldn't say no. Now...watching hockey game and haven't even started on next event. Got a lot of climbing to do. LOL
Too funny. My daughter lost interest in Pocket Planes which is fine with me since it's painful watching her fling planes at a snail's pace. She'll look at the PP leaderboard and point out any names she's seen in some of her other games. She's seen Nalazoo in a couple of her games. How was Man of Steel? I'm more inclined to wait for movies to come out on DVD so I can watch them in the comfort of my own home ... with subtitles and a pause button so I can stretch my legs, grab a snack and go potty.
Spokane runnin' around my MOFO brain After braving the wilds of Zanzibar, the TA1 circus, without losing a step, moved its tents to the city limits of Spokane. And if you thought that after the epic fights in the jungle and on the beaches of the Spice Islands TA1's top athletes would take a break, you were wrong. Dead wrong. The heroine of the day is again Nifty Nalazoo. She courageously fought off the attacks of both the Twilight Twister, Faye the Flinger, and a dangerous newcomer, 4ndrew G. The skies of Spokane roared with the incredible noise produced by four of the greatest fleets PP has ever seen. (Meanwhile, Merlion's silent Blimps came and went almost unnoticed.) The race lead went back and forth countless times, and the top players gave it all they'd got, but it was 'Zoo who emerged victorious. The Tornado finished second, with 5,053 jobs quite a bit behind 'Zoo's 7,189. Andrew barely pipped Faye to the third place on the podium with 4,450 jobs to his name, only 29 ahead of Faye's fourth place. Behind Faye Gus could be seen flexing his fingers. He's come back from hibernation or whatever it is that Roo Masters do when they're having a rest at home, first with a tentative tenth in Zanzibar and now with a fearsome fifth in Spokane. Will he keep the upward curve going? Don't cancel your M S & H subscriptions, boyz and girlz! In 6th we see Boomerkidd, who hasn't been scoring points for half a year, aeons in PP land. It's also a personal best, so we congratulate her with the new achievement. (As we do all other winners in this race, of course.) Welcome back! Icon scores 8th, and all of us are still waiting with baited breath when his famous bux exchange will propel him to the top of an event. Or almost all of us, as Icon himself probably thinks it's impossible because of all the conspiracies against him. Notwithstanding those, he stays ahead of Ktc in 9th and Thiswasina in 10th. Ina set the entry ticket to today's Top Ten at 2,102 jobs, which makes this event pretty par for the course. This being the second race of the 8th Silver Yoke, the 'Yoke now ranks as follows: 1st: Nalazoo, 50 points (1st, 25); 2nd: Mindtornado, 36 (2nd, 18); 3rd: Faye, 27 (3rd, 15) 4th: Stogey Jerry, 16 (5th, 10); 5th: 4ndrew_g, 15 (-, 0); 6th: Ktc, 14 (4th, 12); 7th: Gus, 11 (10th, 1); 8th: Thisisina, 9 (6th, 8); 9th: Boomerkidd, 8 incl. one 6th place (-, 0) 10th: TheConspiracyIcon, 8 incl. two 8th places (8th, 4). 'Zoo rules. Are we seeing a new dominating Champion, like 'Tornado before her, and Popehatz and Gus before him? (Trying to avoid the word dominatrix here.) Keep up the good works, 'Zoo! We at the M S & H's editorial offices are cheering for you. There is even talk of hanging up a new poster next to Faye Valentine's. 'Tornado and Faye follow in 'Zoo's wake, as we would expect from these two consistent heavy hitters. Stogey Jerry is making a good start, scoring 4th with good results in two races. Behind him it's still early days, most positions mostly coming from a good score in one of the two races. Icon, with two consistent 8ths, hangs on to the Top Ten. Behind him sits Ump with 6 points, and Kelly with 2, bringing the total number of points scorers to twelve. Then there's the 3rd Golden Sequoia, now 11 races in: 1st: Popehatz, 150 (1st, 150); 2nd: Nalazoo, 134 (3rd, 109); 3rd: Mindtornado, 129 (2nd, 111); 4th: Faye, 114 (5th, 102); 5th: Jmac, 105 (4th, 105); 6th: Ktc24, 79 (6th, 77); 7th: Penguin, 73 (7th, 73); 8th: XGarriga, 62 (8th, 62); 9th: Nokitano, 30 (9th, 30); 10th: Vic, 25 (10th, 25). 'Zoo takes 2nd decisively out of the Trepidated Twister's hands. Will this last? The difference is only 5 points. Quito will bring quit or double in this fight. Stay tuned! Faye moves up a place and ends up in a direct line of view of the prospective podium. You can see her eyeing it. Jmac is the victim of the move, after two races out of the points. Are you OK, Jmac? Behind the Mac very little happens. Ktc wins two points but the rankings stay the same, which probably has to do with everyone else behind him scoring nothing. Can this last? In a word, no. Stogey Jerry now sits 4 points behind Vic, and Ina another 2. Scaramanga 3 points behind that, immediately followed by Andrew, 1 point later. And a bit further down names like North, Tater, and Gus, who's still a force to be reckoned with. We've said it before and we'll say it again: this ain't over yet. Last but not least, the Concorde League: 1st: Faye Valentine, 577 (1st, 565); 2nd: Gus, 537 1/3 (2nd, 527 1/3); 3rd: Nalazoo, 388 1/3 (4th, 363 1/3); 4th: North, 366 (3rd, 366); 5th: Penguin, 360 1/3 (5th, 360 1/3); 6th: Number1Ump, 294 (6th, 288); 7th: Nokitano, 275 (7th, 275); 8th: Vic, 267 (8th, 267); 9th: Ktc24, 265 (9th, 263); 10th: Snowbird, 240 (10th, 240). 'Zoo's victories propel her yet another place up the Rankings of Eternal Fame. In a week's time she's now moved up two places, to the prospective podium. Will she stay there? North now has 22 points to bridge, and Penguin another 6. Anything's stlll possible, but we will need to see rrrresults, gentlemen! Other than that, little change but for Ktc nudging yet another little bit closer to Sheriff Vic's 8th place. Is he afraid of the Sheriff? You'd almost think so, as he keeps slowing down his scores as he nears the Sheriff's position. We at the MOFO Statesman & Herald think the moment is nigh, though. Stay glued to the tube, folks! Now that we have no longer Dillinger's classic ("I've got Spokane runnin' around my brain") droning in our heads, our attention turns to equatorial Quito, where the next fight is already taking place. Oh the dynamics of TA1ville, there's nothing like it! Cheers, M. EDIT: selected gender corrections
Yeah, that's not surprising at all. He has done it before, and if he was a she he would have already known what you were.
We find Miss 'Zoo at her scrapbook table, carefully clipping out the latest MOFO report and putting it with the photos of the sights near Spokane...of course all were taken from the cockpit as the plane circled in the landing pattern. Finishing this layout will have to wait...there are planes to fling. The Twilight Twister is going to give me a run for the money...so...better get back to flinging planes!
Nice update. I'll add it to the MOFO HQ post when I get back to a computer. Looks like Gus has come out of hibernation. Quito event ... I see how it is gonna be ... Wafting between Top 10 and Top 20. I started hangaring my class 1 planes before I realized they could easily make the hop from LA to Mex to Quito. Doh! At least I didn't accidentally pay for Spokane advertising after the event ended. I've done that many times with precious events. So... When is Pocket Trains coming out? I've installed Clash of Clans, but haven't had time to look at it.
