Hey again Thanks for the input, I'm looking into different strats now, and switching fogbusters with sequoias, and pearjets with aeroeagles. Also I've closed shop in a lot of smaller cities (c1,c2) to concentrate on a few c3 cities in order to hoard some cash. I've also joined TA1, if anyone wanna add i'm Zafir47 in GC. I'll be around, and thanks again for the pointers..
After struggling to break into the TA1 top 20, I finally did my first ever bux exchange today! Very exciting! Hoping for a top 10 finish this time. I've added myself to the TA1 spreadsheet too. Thanks to all for the many tips & ideas here.
I was #15 with 424 jobs. Nobody around me was on my GC friends and I crashed right after the game, so I don't have numbers for others.
I updated the spreadsheet with the Zanibar event finish, thanks Nalazoo, Icon & Suvinirk for posting. The Top 10 and #15 are accounted for. Would love to know where others finished ... #11, etc. We experienced a power outage yesterday so I didn't play as much when I couldn't be sure about when I could recharge the phone. Couldn't get onto the computer, no internet. I was looking at the list of events on the Wiki page and am confused about the event dates they have listed. It show DC as beginning June 5 and ending June 9. I am pretty sure DC ended on June 12. It even says June 12 in the SUCK, our TA1 spreadsheet, which as you know is the Single Unimpeachable Center of Knowledge. I guess all the dates on the Wiki page are a little off. http://pocketplaneswiki.com/Events I'm doing that now, playing with mostly M planes and supplementing with P & C planes. That's what I did in the DC event, flew mostly M Aeros and had 2 P Aeros and 2 C Aeros to handle any imbalances. I can't say that my game favors P more than C. Mine seems to flip flop between the two. Sometimes there is an overload of P jobs, other times there is an overload of C jobs.
Neither Twinkie, nor Hoho, nor roast marshmallows have touched my lips in recent decades. I'm looking forward to getting reacquainted with the marshmallows. Pass on Twinkies & Hohos. There used to be a Deep Fried Twinkie kiosk at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. I've never tried it, sounds really gross to me. I think the kiosk closed after Hostess closed.
Anybody have Bobcat controls that they would like to trade for an engine or body? Or if you are looking for something else, just let me know and I'll see if I have what you want. Also looking for Mapples, too. And to any dads in TA1, Happy Father's Day!
Hi just a quick question. Has the bux calculator stopped working on an I-phone? I have a 4S and I've been trying to use it for the last couple of days but it doesn't appear to be working.
This sounds like the same issue I'm having on my iPad. In the past, I could click one of the yellow boxes and be able to input numbers. Somewhere, somehow, something changed and I can't access it from my iPad anymore either.
Same here on my iPhone. Anyone have a link to how many points we get for each place in the top ten for the MOFOs?
Zanzibar MOFOs On June 12th (June 13th by Singapore's reckoning) the TA1 circus moved its fleets to the Spice Islands. What followed was an epic fight by the reigning 800 pound gorilla (no pun intended) and a awakened Nalazoo, rearing to go. Has the Tornado spent its energy and slackened off after his hat trick of dominance, the last few events? Or did he give everything he'd got but nothing could be done against a 'Zoo Unchained? We will never know. What we do know, is that Mindtornado is now humming a familiar melody: "I fought the 'Zoo, and the 'Zoo won." Congrats 'Zoo, with your second victory! (Or third, if you count the Boston Conspiracy, also known as the Game of Thirds ) Anyway, it was a fair fight with two worthy players. When Mindtornado bowed out and conceded the win to 'Zoo, he did so honourably, scoring 4,325 jobs against 'Zoo's 4,809. Unfortunately it's costing him his winning streak, so if the Psychic Cyclone ever wants to beat the existing record of six consecutive wins (shared by two of TA1's demigods, Gus and Pope) he'll have to start over again. Don't let us stand in your way, 'Tornado! Since it's the first race in the 8th Silver Yoke, we will publish the full results for the race, as it coincides with the SY8 standings: 1. Nalazoo, 4,809 jobs; 2. Mindtornado, 4,325; 3. Faye, 3,421; 4. Ktc, 1,664; 5. Stogey Jerry, 1,580; 6. Thisisina, 1,444; 7. Ump (!), 1,149; 8. TheConsipracyIcon, 1,135; 9. Kellypad, 1,062; 10. Gus, 924. This was your typical slow event, a remote airport off the coast of Southeast Africa, half an hour's flight from the nearest Class 3. And it shows in the numbers, with 'Zoo staying below 5,000 (admittedly because of falling asleep in front of the TV, but still. It also tells you something about the incredible stress the TA1 top athletes live under. Usain Bolt does walks in the park compared with that. But I digress.) and Gus (oh Swarmster, is this how it all ends?) coming in 10th below 1,000. Faye the Constant Gardener completed the podium in third. Ktc, another stalwart, finished 4th. Behind him Stogey Jerry had a good showing in 5th. And who is this in 6th? This is Thisisina. It's nice to see her again, and hopefully we have a new regular here for the points. 7th Place shows a pleasant surprise. The Umpster is back! Are we going to see more of you, Ump? Do we have another competitor for the 8th Yoke? Or have you come in to defend your position in the Concorde League? Anyway, welcome back! Icon, having done some serious bux sitting, is clearly flexing his thumbs for a shot at fame and fortune. 8th is a good start, and the first four points are in the kitty. Will we see you improving your personal best? (15 points in SY4) Or even a shot at the podium? We from the M S & H would extend your our best wishes, but we won't since you might see a conspiracy behind it. Kelly in 9th is becoming a bit of a regular as well. And Gus, Sic transit gloria mundi, the Ozymandias of TA1, closes the ranks. What does all this mean for the 3rd Golden Sequoia, now 10 races in and 16 to go? Read on: 1st: Popehatz, 150 (1st, 150); 2nd: Mindtornado, 111 (3rd, 93); 3rd: Nalazoo, 109 (5th, 84); 4th: Jmac, 105 (2nd, 105); 5th: Faye, 102 (4th, 87); 6th: Ktc24, 77 (7th, 65); 7th: Penguin, 73 (6th, 73); 8th: XGarriga, 62 (8th, 62); 9th: Nokitano, 30 (9th, 30); 10th: Vic, 25 (10th, 25). Popehatz, who dominated the starting days of GS3 in a big way, remains in first place but behind him we see a major shakeup. Mindtornado has been storming the ranks and now occupies second. If the Popester remains inactive, our whirling whiz kid needs two more wins to beat him to first. Something tells me the Tornado is hoping for a prolonged series of bux only events, as the mad Papal hatter has already announced that this only might compel him to come back... Tornado also needs to look over his shoulder, where at spitting distance sits 'Zoo, eyeing second and no doubt first positions as well. Two measly points separate them. The life of a TA1 top athlete knows no respite. Indeed, GS3 is shaping up to become an epic fight. For at 4th and 5th sits another dangerous duo, Jmac 'Killer Macbeth' Jmac and Faye the Constant Flinger. Nine points only separate numbers two through five, with 16 races to go. Need we say more? Behind these top contenders there's a bit of a distance, after which we see Ktc and Penguin, in 6th and 7th with 77 and 73 points. They just traded places, and we at the M S & H predict that this isn't the last time. Lorena aka XGarriga occupies 8th with 62 points. And in 9th and 10th we see the stationary duo of Nokitano and Sheriff Vic, with 30 and 25 respectively. Who's threatening Nokitano and the Flatlining Frenchman? In theory, Snowbird at 6 points' distance, but we haven't seen her for a while. Thisisina follows suit in 12th, with 18 points; Scaramanga, in 13th with 16 points, is pointing his Golden Gun at the posse in front of him; Stogey Jerry is a bit inconsistent but just showed he can score 10 points, now sitting at 14th with 15; Suvinirk has shown potential before and now sits at 16th with 14; and North, Tater and Chewbacca follow in 17th-19th with 12, 11 and 11. Something tells us this isn't the end of it. Finally, the Concorde League: 1st: Faye Valentine, 565 (1st, 550); 2nd: Gus, 527 1/3 (2nd, 526 1/3); 3rd: North, 366 (3rd, 366); 4th: Nalazoo, 363 1/3 (5th, 338 1/3); 5th: Penguin, 360 1/3 (4th, 360 1/3); 6th: Number1Ump, 294 (6th, 288); 7th: Nokitano, 275 (7th, 275); 8th: Vic, 267 (8th, 267); 9th: Ktc24, 263 (9th, 251); 10th: Snowbird, 240 (10th, 240). Faye is steadily building up her lead and now has almost 40 points over Gus, the current number 2. She's becoming a very serious candidate for the ultimate Cup. We have 42 races to go, and we all know that 42 is the Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything Including Faye's Chances Of Winning. Just sayin'. 'Zoo, in one fell swoop, has surpassed the Penguin, who seemingly has't completely recovered from his polar burnout yet, and has now settled into 4th. But not for long, as she's clearly eyeing North's prospective podium place. We might even go out on a limb here and say that the way 'Zoo is going, she's on her way to become a serious threat to that other Grande Dame of TA1. Remember people, you read that here first! Ump, in 6th, has come in and put a tiny bit more space between him and his pursuers. But some more real action is happening right behind him, where Ktc is on a roll. He now sits in 9th (coming from 10th only two events ago) but has the flatlining Sheriff in his crosshairs. With our mind's eye we can clearly see poor old Vic with a giant target on his back, and Ktc busy painting the figure 8th on a spare tee shirt. Has the Frenchman given up yet? The next events will tell. Long story short, there's never a dull moment in the MOFOs, the most famous league this side of both the Rio Grande and the Johor Straits. Stay tuned, dear citizens of TA1ville, and see y'all in Spokane, a stone's throw from the Wall that separates us from the Northern wilds! Cheers, M. Note: when the previous MOFO results were published, 8th place in Washington DC wasn't known yet. It's now clear that this was Scaramanga79+, and the MOFO rankings have been amended accordingly for all concerned: Scaramanga (+4), Kelly (-2), Sdo and Dcw3h (-1). Thanks Faye for alerting the M S & H!
What better excuse than PP can you get to purchase that generator you've been thinking of (whole house or portable, doesn't matter)
I seem to remember it being the same as in the Formula 1 points (from 1 to 10: 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1).
Yesterday I saw a small cell phone charger that you crank by hand to charge your cell phone during a power outage. I was shopping with my family, but my very first thought was "Yeah, it would be nice to be able to continue playing Pocket Planes in the event of a natural disaster."
