I disagree with having all M planes. I started with just M, then found there a some events which are passenger-only events and others where you want to collect mystery parts - cargo. So, as I expanded, I added more P/C planes. This works out well for me, as I find there ae times where more passengers appear than cargo on a mixed event. When I see imbalances happening, I can quickly switch out planes and gather those jobs. I will couple the P/C planes with a few M Cyclones for clearing out layovers. I find it interesting for the Zanzibar event that there are many more BUX paying passengers who want to go to Lagos, than cargo being shipped there.
I definitely can't dispute this. I'm using all M planes for Zanzibar, and while I had a good-sized backlog of cargo yesterday, I've got a HUGE backlog of passengers today. I'll have to pull a Zoo and plug in some P planes. Also, I'm about to get the 10,000 passengers achievement, whereas my 10,000 cargo achievement is 10% behind. (I can't imagine how some have delivered 10,000 jobs in ONE EVENT. I'm not worthy...)
Happy birthday Pocket Planes, you are 1 today. My latest cities by the way were Belem, and Port Elizabeth.
It's very weird because I have the 10,000 cargo achievement but I've only done 7,500 cargo jobs. EDIT: and I'm only using 1 device.
Zoo how many events have been p or c only? I dropped all of my useless planes for m, mostly because I'm on Android and have a huge problem with the game knocking me off if I have to many in the hanger. I can only think of 1 class 3 event that was p only, and 1 class 1. In the class 1 just quickly bought a bunch of roos.
This is very annoying. I wish someone would fix that about the Android PP. Can't have too many or it flips out. But, if you can manage to pull a plane out of the bottom of a full hangar, sometimes you get a rectangle. Or a ghost mapple.
How many?...hmmm...can't say for sure; however if you look at this: http://pocketplaneswiki.com/List_of_Events You'll see the different events. Lumber Games, Elvis Convention, Embassy Dinner are all P only - there may be others, I only looked quickly. Museum Opening & Prison Break are a couple of the C only. Looking at this list, I can see why some events are probably more P-centric versus C-centric or balanced.
First time round that I played PP I definitely favoured seperate P and C planes but that suited how I played then. As I read more and more of the strategies on this site I moved towards only having M planes but the P and C planes came in useful as most events at some point had an overload of one or the other that needed clearing out to reduce layovers. Now with the new game I have used a lot more M planes especially at the lower levels when Mapples were available. I'm still going to get a few P and C planes, at least the smaller stuff, Kangas and Aeros as I mentioned they are useful for events but the big stuff once I get it will be all M's
Goog games watch : For the mach3 lovers, this very recent one is excellent, mixes RPG elements with clever mach3 mechanics and a lotof pirate fun (5/5 on TA) : Scurvy Scallywags is now free. http://appshopper.com/games/scurvy-scallywags
So I did the research on the events conversation that zoo and I have been having. So far I have 87 events that I can account for. Of the 87, 8 wereP only. Of the 87, 4 were C only. 26 of the 87 were completely balanced M events. 36 out of the 87 were P slanted events including the 8 that were solely P. When I say P slanted, I mean more jobs for that event were P jobs than C jobs. Likewise, of the 87, 25 were C slanted including the 4 already accounted for. The P only events so far were: 2 medical Conf., 2 Elvis conventions, 2 Embassy diners, a renaissance fair, and a lumber games. The C only events were 2 prison breaks, and 2 museum openings. Now...here is what is needed to complete the list. Their were 16 other events. I can't find data at all for them and could use some help...they are Halloween, hannaukah, Christmas, new years, Puxswantey, Mardi gras, Valentines, presidents day, mothers day, st patricks, developers convention, anzac day, golden week, graduation, whale watch, memorial day. So can you guys help?
Zoo, I think I have one more run left for this event. Every time I get close, you bust me up with a ton more jobs. It's been fun - hat's off to you.
Yeah, yeah....if you think I'm slacking off at the end so you can overtake me....LOL. I have the advantage of having a fleet of Sea Knights. A bit slower on the round-trip...29 minutes for a fully upgraded Sea Knight...but, it has the advantage of one extra space on the plane. It's been fun!
Well that last run is done; it lasted three straight hours. I even put all my Roos (28) on with my two Mapples in an effort to catch you, but your tenacious flinging got the best of me this time. I hope the paper gives you a well deserved glowing review. Edit: the latest standings has you 137 jobs ahead and I think I have a little over 100 jobs in the air. This is going to be close...
I fell asleep while watching a movie...I wanted to break 5k for this event and probably would have. I woke up with about 1 1/2 hours left to go. Figured...might as well finish all the deliveries that had piled up and be ready to jump into the next event...sometime tomorrow . Or...later today since it's 3am! I'll post final screenshots from my iPhone. (Done!)
Zoo, you must have been using your hop, drop, stop, shop, flop method eh? Congrats on the win and on keeping our great editor from being able to tell any more corny jokes! Ps- That screen shot of your 60 million coins and 48 thousand bux is absolutely disgusting!
