Chewbacca is his forum name. A few posts down (or up depending on how you have your forum settings configured), he pointed out that TA1 was in 2nd place by a narrow margin. Looks like we finished at 2nd with a 5k job lead over 3rd.
You can only go at it for so long before life interferes! I've just done the minimum amount for the past few events but decided to go for Berlin. Finished 11th which was pleasing.
Ok Android peeps, if you send me a cyclone m control I will give you a FULL Seq m plane. Please help me, need 18 more cyclone controls!!!
Thanks for the reply, I indeed decided to retire my Mohawks and Birchcrafts and now have a complete Aeroeagle&Kangaroo airline. As we speak I am only using Australia and Europe, when would be a good time to expand to the USA/Asia? I've been reading through this thread like a madman the last 3 days, must've read the last 50 pages (out of 416) because I've become addicted to this game. Hoped this new global event would be a full plane one considering I've been reading a lot about those Mystery Parts of which I've yet to catch one myself. Happy flying :>
Regarding BUX strategy. The last few days I've picked up about 2000 BUX this way and not playing that much. I opened all the cities in Alaska and upgraded them fully and have been simply grabbing every BUX job in Tokyo, Shanghai, Shenyang, Manila and Seoul. Class 3 cities open are LA, CHI, NY, Istanbul, Seoul, Manila, Tokyo, Shanghai, Shenyang. Class 2 cities are Honolulu, SF and Seattle. That's it. For some reason there are a TON of 9, 10 and 11 BUX jobs constantly showing up. The other way is just too boring for me. I've also added about 3M coins as well. As I said, if I'm playing this game I have to play it normally or it's just too boring. I transport mixed jobs across the ocean with 4 Cloudliners and then group them up so I get the 25% bonus every delivery with Mapples and Aeroeagles and just deliver the BUX along with the coin jobs. So I'm running 4 Cloudliners, 9 Aeroeagle M's and 8 Mapples. My math tells me that if I ran this way for a week, playing around 5 hours a day I could pick up 10K BUX easy.
Tater- Prior to the pope strategy, i was using one that also reaped a lit of bux from Alaska. It had la, ny, lon, par, ist, bei, and she as the class 3 cities. I then opened a class 1 route going to Barrow, Juneau, and Nome. When that worked great and the massive bux jobs you are describing started flowing, I decided to try the same thing on the other side, and it worked. For that route I had Tiksi, and Yakutsk. So those were flowing so good I decided torun two routes in the southern hemispheres as well. Opened port headland and Adelaide...and Perth. Then in South America opened Buenos Aires, Bariloche, and Punta Aires. Then I decided to open Lima and Easter Island. The results of what I found are this..a lot of passengers wanted to fly all over the world and pay big bucks to do it. The majority of the bux jobs when you get that many cities open are specifically for class1 cities, and barely anyone wants to go to the class 3 cities. And lastly, it is a PITA to manage! Have your 100 cities and blimps Merlion Take a look at popes method...I'm telling you it really works awesome. I haven't played very much either. I worked all day and prob went on for no more than 10-15 minutes 5x. The last I was onfor around 30. So probably about an hour and a half total. I started with 3 bux, have 802 right now and spent about 2200 on parts. 3; for less than 2 hours and no micro managing...I'll take it!
Waving at Merlion! Yes, I'm CaptainBrowncoat. I'm a she too. I took a break from PP, but have been back for 2 events. Hoping I can get back in the swing of things again. It can be hard to stay motivated.
Now that you've got Aeroeagles, I'd suggest that now's a good time (note: you'll need to upgrade the distance twice to reach Boston and the max 3x upgrade for New York).
Berliner MOFOs Remember the days when we were young and innocent, and Sunday was MOFO day? Ah, those were the days. Today we have another such day, since the coming week will be hellish at the MOFO Statesman & Herald's offices, and the last thing we want is neglect the ole' MOFO rankings, n'est-ce pas? So let's not tarry and dive in! If you thought Popehatz was burning the candle at both ends, then you were wrong. Dead wrong. The Popester's setup can apparently withstand the highest of pressures and the tests of time. In a funny misinterpretation of Leonard Cohen's great classic, first he took Charleston, and then he took Berlin. Plus, he took Gus the Swarmster's record of five consecutive wins, booking his sixth without taking a break, or even showing signs of fatigue. Not to mention the fact that he now has such a lead over number 2 in the Silver Yoke that he cannot be overtaken any more, and is thus the newly crowned Champion of SY7. Oh, and did I mention he booked another Superhero result in the process? Congrats to Popehatz, for winning the race, becoming Champion, breaking the record, and adding another Superhero distinction! Pfew. Oh, and before I forget, there were some other racers too. In fact, we are extremely pleased to welcome more new faces! Mindtornado swooped in and even briefly managed to threaten Pope's Cyclones. (Tornado threatens Cyclones, get it? Oh, forget it.) He took second, with 9,572 jobs. Either he didn't get the memo about the Superhero gong for scaling the 10k limit in a Class 2 event, or he remaining 428 jobs proved just a bit too much. Either way, a respectable result for a newcomer and our heartfelt congratulations. This shows great promise for the future. Lorena aka XGarriga completed the podium, roughly 6,000 jobs behind the Tornado. Yes, you read that right. The two top finishers were in a class of their own. Jmac came in 4th, about 150 jobs behind Lorena. Faye took 5th, with a similar gap. And in 6th place we see another new face. Well, new-ish, since this is Chewbacca aka Captain Browncoat. To give you an idea. last time we saw him, I mean, her (it's always hard to see with Wookiees) scoring points was in San Jose, aeons ago, in third place no less. You may have noticed today's races are a lot tougher, Chewy! Glad to have you back. Ktc took 7th, at safe distance behind the irritable Wookiee. Sdo62, another lost son (well, OK, semi-lost; it's been 6 races) claimed 8th; and 'Zoo took 9th. All were pretty close to each other. In 10th place we welcome Kellypad, another newbie. Kelly hauled 1,868 jobs, the minimum for today's Top Ten. May you conquer more. Apart from cementing the 7th Championship, there's quite a bit to report about the 7th 'Yoke's standings (also the 3rd Sequoia's): 1st: Popehatz, 150 points and Champion (1st, 125); 2nd: Jmac, 57 (4th, 45); 3rd: Faye, 56 (3rd, 46); 4th: Penguin, 55 (2nd, 55); 5th: XGarriga, 50 (6th, 35); 6th: Nalazoo, 46 (5th, 44); 7th: Ktc24, 41 (7th, 35); 8th: Nokitano, 30 (8th, 30); 9th: Vic, 25 (9th, 25); 10th: Mindtornado, 18 (-, 0). Congrats again for the Popester, with his newly found fame. But behind him some interesting things are happening, too. Jmac has crept up behind the ever industrious Faye and the stationary Penguin, and takes 2nd place with three races to go. Will Faye fight back? Will the Penguin regain his footing? Watch this space. With Jmac in second, Faye takes third. Both leave Penguin in the dust, and off the podium. The differences are small, so anything can still happen. Oh, those MOFOs! Never a dull moment, as they say. Behind the polar bird the differences aren't big either. Lorena's in 5th, with only a five points gap. 'Zoo follows in 6th, another four points' gap; and Ktc's in 7th, yet another five points behind. The 7th Silver Yoke ain't over yet. 8th and 9th are stationary, with Nokitano and Vic scoring zero points. But 10th shows a surprise: here we see Mindtornado appear out of nowhere, thanks to his grand entrance, worth 18 points. Behind the mental whirlwind Snowbird and Green Paper still share 11th with 15 points, North sits in 13th with 12, and Tater in 14th with 11. The list of points scorers in SY7/GS3 now numbers a respectable 21 people. Thanks all! So far SY7/GS3, on to the Big C: 1st: Gus, 526 1/3 (1st, 526 1/3); 2nd: Faye, 519 (2nd, 509); 3rd: North, 366 (3rd, 366); 4th: Penguin, 342 1/3 (4th, 342 1/3); 5th: Nalazoo, 300 1/3 (5th, 298 1/3); 6th: Number1Ump, 288 (6th, 288); 7th: Nokitano, 275 (7th, 275); 8th: Vic, 267 (8th, 267); 9th: Snowbird, 236 (9th, 236); 10th: Ktc24, 227 (10th, 221). No change in the Concorde Top Ten in the 58th race of the venerable Cup. That said, Faye is now coming dangerously close to Gus the Swarm Master. Seven points and a bit separate the two. Will we see a new leader soon? Stay tuned, is the motto. Stuff is stirring below the surface too. Popehatz now sits in 12th, 9 points behind CastlePage and 52 behind Ktc. Can he be stopped? Or will he remember that there's only one distinction left to be won: to be part of the Concorde Top Ten, also known as the Ten Immortals of TA1? Keep reading your favourite newpaper, boyz and girlz; whatever happens, the M S & H will be there to report it. And now on to the afterparties in Kreuzberg. SO36 is one of Merlion's favourite places on this planet. What's better than a wild night in Süd Ost followed by breakfast in Casablanca's Le Doge? Ah, the life of a TA1er! Cheers, M.
Does anyone know of a "helper" to make the parts list refresh faster like the passenger lists do when you open new cities? Great read Merlion, congrats pope!
Whoa Faye! With all due respect to Mindtornado, 'competition' implies there was ever a risk of losing But seriously, it's always nice to have someone barking at your heels. There's absolutely nothing about the event lately to provide motivation, so I welcomed the challenge. Welcome to the crew, Mindtornado - you made a very impressive entrance As a matter of fact, that little tidbit had slipped my mind. It's a very tempting goal, but I believe that train has already left the station. The last few events have been draining, primarily in terms of virtually no incentive apart from a win. i.e. no f-ing blimps and single part prizes?!?! And after clinching SY7 (undefeated no less!), breaking the win streak record, and helping to raise the Hero/SuperHero/etc bars, I'm really having trouble finding the personal motivation to continue. I also happened to stumble across Clash of Clans on Friday, and spent a majority of my time since then getting ready for my newbie shield to expire and watching a bunch of strategy vids on YouTube. I suspect this is going to be my primary time-sink for a while, since my previous gaming experience has typically been PvP. Maybe if PP could introduce something that would award bux and planes from your defeated opponents I won't go so far as to say that I'm ready to start parting out my Cyclones, Concordes and Mapples, but that time may come soon enough. Many thanks to Merlion for making even the dullest of PP events something interesting. The M S&H (and MOFO in general) is a very unique facet in my gaming experience, and I applaud the effort and organization it takes to keep everything in place. Wish you guys all the best, and don't get too complacent - the other crews are getting closer to grabbing 3rd and you never know when my fleet might decide to come out of semi-retirement.
And another one bites the dust...no more Gus, no more penguin, and now no more pope??? Just me you and Faye keeping this town afloat huh M? Hell, I barely see our Sheriff around here anymore. Oh well if you can't have vader, at least we now have chewbacca.
In the words of Scooby Doo....Rut rho! Something is amiss with the spreadsheet. I'm trying to do BUX calculatiosns and the one row where you put coins in bank is looking like a header row. While I'm knowledgeable about Excel, I do not want to muck with the inner working or fear eternal banishment by the keepers of the spreadsheet.
Love Clash of Clans...and as you get further into it, and the build times increase for your defenses or troops to build, you'll find flinging planes a great way to pass the time in between. There are 3 Toucharcade clans in Clash of Clans - I'm in the Toucharcade clan and a few other TA1 pilots formed a Toucharcade1 clan. When you re Jill your clan castle - come visit
Am i the only one that can't EVER get the parts they need? Yesterday, I tried repeatedly to get parts to build just 1 cyclone. Then on 1r refresh i was able to buy 20 cyclone bodies in a row. Tried for the test of the day to get other cyclone m parts and at one point was able to buy 20 cyclone m engines. Today since 3am i have tried to get 1 cyclone m control, and 0 that's right ZERO have dropped...what the heck?!? Also I clearly am the last Android player playing because no one has taken me up on my offer of a seqm full plane for a cyclone m control.
Yay i'm back on here after a short break. In between moving house and getting everything sorted for that and then changing phone and operating system I didn't really come on here as I wasn't playing too much. But now i've got the house looking good (ish, it will probably be another couple of months before all the boxes disappear) I can concentrate on PP again and start building back to where I was on the Iphone. I was able to transfer the game from my tablet so I had a head start but can I say, Oceana is a very hard place to start. Now at level 14 and have a good setup using planes gifted to me by guys on here so I am working my way back. I must say its been a bit boring not having the worldwide setup I had on my Iphone and being able to play in all the global events but I will soon be there.
Yelto Glad you are back! Bux sitting for now but chomping at the bit to start realllly competing. Sending you a couple of presents for your return!
