So glad to hear you're safe. It's heart wrenching to see the photos & videos of the damage. Sending lots of prayers for the victims of the tornado & all those affected.
Popehatz (and others), any tips on how to keep track of your jobs accurately in order to hit a specific number?
Ok VIC...you are up. How does out take you 2 months to make 63k bux, when by the screen shot you provided at noon and again at 6 pm show you are clearly crushing the bux aside of things! 1200 bux in like 6 hours is just sick!
Just updated the SUCK with the Top 10 leader board job count at 1D 11H. It's still pretty close between Pope & Penguin.
I used the central hub strategy for the xian event and made over 1900 bux in about 10 hours. With 28 planes.....
Yeah, it's far less effective than the swarm strategy in terms of jobs. Because of the 20 airports, I have to scroll down in Kinshasa a lot for each class 1 plane. But I make an astronomical number of Bux, almost 1 Bux per event job done for now. All in all, It fits better my playstyle. But surely 63 Mapples/SK and 5 airports only would make a killing. Btw Kinshasa rocks with X'ian opened, and range upgraded cyclones. One hop to NY, Lima, Rio/SP, Buenos Aires, Europe, East Asia until X'ian, Jakarta...
In most cases you need to hope the stars align and the moon turns back into cheese so that GC will keep track properly and update in a timely fashion. However, this never seems to happen... But for reals, in Rio it was dumb luck. I had stopped playing for a couple of hours and went back to find I had 24,877 jobs. It was only at that point that I decided I was *done* with that event. I rebooted my phone, waited for another hour or so to make sure GC was as updated as possible. Then loaded up the 123 jobs I needed and sent them off. After they landed, it took close to 45 minutes for GC to register 99 jobs and another 15 minutes after that to update the last 2 Cyclone deliveries. I guess the short answer is 'lots of waiting around'. Sometimes it seems to help if you open the multitasking bar and force-close PP and then re-open. Sometimes I do the same thing for GC and hope that kick-starts an update. But I'm thinking that GC also has it's own built-in update timer, and that no matter what you do it will update when it thinks it should. "GC is never late. Nor is GC early. GC updates precisely when GC means to." Back when I was hardcore bux-sitting (14 C3 cities and 30-ish planes) I figured the average rate was about 7-10 (I think?) per city per refresh using that layout. So even on the low end, that's ~100 every 5 minutes. A solid hour nets you 1200. Most days would get me 4500-5000 bux. 1200 over 6 hours while climbing the leaderboard is nothing to scoff at for sure, just reinforcing the idea that using Cyclones and having quick eyes/fingers can be very profitable.
It's hasn't happened in a while but I have seen it take around 12 hours for the leader board to update.
My heart goes out to the people of Moore, OK. I am saddened by the loss of life and devastation. ... Leader board update for Icon. (no screenshot, still unable to upload them from iPhone): 1D 1H 6840 Pope 6604 Penguin 4360 Vic 3041 Faye 2722 Ktc 2437 Xgarriga 2417 Zoo 1686 Tater 1680 Jmac 1140 North .
Just sent a friend request to popehatz & penguin so I can watch this battle unfold. I'm still lurking in the forum, thanks to Merlion's MOFO updates. What do you think the minimum number of slots is to make a serious try for the top ten? I'm at 26 slots, and am saving up bux for an expansion. I have 16K, trying to decide whether to cash in now or save up more. And at what number of slots does the game start to get laggy?
I'm only use 14 planes for this event (Mapple, SeaKnights and Roos). I'm 7th at this moment. If anyone has some Mapple that don't use, I'll use it #.
Hey My rule of thumb is that you should at least add 25% of your existing slots for a Bux trade in. So you should aim for 32/33 slots minimum. Merlion did a nice calculator in TA1 spreadsheet, have a look at it! With 16k Bux, you could have 35 slots, that makes a huge difference, I suggest not to wait more longer The lag appears to be mainly a memory usage issue so it depends on your device. If you have a recent iPhone or iPad, 35/40 slots shouldn't be a big deal. If you play on an old iPod touch, I dunno
Vic is right. It's a memory issue. I had an 8 gig iPhone 4 and went to a 16 gig iPhone 5 yesterday and its a bigggggg difference. I didn't transfer any of the songs I had on the other one over to the new one. This thing is a gaming beast. PP runs great.
{waving} Hi Ina!!!! That's amusing. Your screen shot shows me with 60 more jobs even though I haven't gone back into PP since my last post just before yours.
How PP runs is more affected by the amount of RAM on your phone (iPhone 4: 512MB, iPhone 5: 1GB), than storage space.
Yeah I suppose storage is irrelevant. My brain is fried from all the flinging trying to dethrone the pope.
